Sand Land Isn't Great After 12 Hours - Impressions

- Sand Land is a stylish ARPG that follows a Manga and Anime of the same name - and it couldn’t have been released at a better time. On the first of March, the passing of Akira Toriyama shook the nerd world and while Dragon Ball is what he is most known for, he also created the Sand Land series - and it's clear to see from the art style. But how does it play, and will we continue to play it? Find out in our impressions after about 12 hours.

Gotta admit the art style slaps well
>Dosent like RPG’s
>Decides to review an RPG game
Please do better, GameXplain 💀
It's like Dunkey all over again
As someone who likes action RPGs, he's right.
@@mrbanks456 Yeah I finally watched the video after looking at all the whining and he just has totally valid complaints??? Rpg or no, his staces and takes are fine??? What the heck video were people watching?
it's a glorified 2000s movie tie in game
If you don't like action rpgs, why review it?, this is coming from someone who dosn't like the genre so of course the negatives outdo the positives, look for the fitting person for the job, my god.
why you playing if you dont like action rpg
Yeeeah~ maybe not the best person for a review, huh?
@@crcoghill sometimes it's good to get the perspective of someone else.
@brandonsclips7741 a person who doesn't like movies shouldn't review movies. Just like how a person who doesn't like action rpgs, shouldn't review them.
There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s up to the viewer to decide if the review is credible.
Think about if it was the opposite. This guy says he doesn’t play Action RPGs, but then says he actually loved this game. I doubt you’d be here commenting what you did, because suddenly it fits *your* mindset around the game and so you wouldn’t argue against it.
Edit: Also, just a side note, you shouldn’t decide whether a game is worth playing after a single review. If this guy hates the game but 10 other people enjoy it, it’s safe to say it’s probably a decent experience.
Worst person to state his opinion if he don’t like Action JRPGs
Wait so which was it first a manga, an anime, or a game?
Manga, probably.
Manga was first
It was a manga that came out in 2000 it just now got an anime adaptation last year
@@terabitez3374It got a movie of what was in the manga last year. It also has an anime currently airing that the first half of the season is the movie with new scenes added. The 2nd half is a new arc that wasn't in the manga.
manga
Is it worth playing though?
That game looks okay to me. I'll play the demo for this when its available to see if I enjoy the game.
tried the demo, liked the world setting, but maybe i'll buy it next year.
Who knew this had a anime show. I don't have cable or watch tv since 2006.
I knew, it was marketed online. It’s fairly recent
@@mathieul4303 Right.
I never play this game befor ❤😂🎉🎉😢😮😅😊 5:22 🐮:-$🫡😃🫥🍇 5:27
12h is the start of Jrpg..
It reminds of the Mad Max game that came out in 2015 (yes I know this is obviously taking heavy inspiration from Mad Max itself, I'm talking about the literal structure and flow) but worse. Like it has less to do and less deep gameplay and many already considered that Mad Max game pretty mid. (Not me though I'm a certified Mad Max 2015 truther)
That game is very well made and worth the praise agreed
2 bots already 💀 😂
Nintendo is also having that too.
The same kinds of bots, too.
@@ArcCaravan I keep reporting but their comments return. 😆
@@EnchantedSmellyWolf I'm guessing they're different bots from the same creator with similar profile pictures.
@@ArcCaravan If you says so. They have same username. I think CZcams is seeing no problems.
"Tanks for watching" was likely an unintentional joke, lol
Hates action RPGs so reviews the game to hate on it
I mean, after 12 hours Id play another game
A shame, I really like the anime and the animations look really smoth.
I wanted to play this game since it's announcement but if this is the general opinion I'll wait until they put it on sale, which surely will be in 3 or 4 months, most likely at 40%.
The reviewer hates action rpg so don't trust him on this.
@@bukojoetheslapsoils8273His points are valid if you actually listen to what he says. IGN gave it a 6, calling it ‘OK’. The game clearly has some issues, but I guess you’ll just ignore anything but high praise.
@@Ryotsu2112Still, why hire someone who hates this genre to do a review on one? Sounds like they want there to be a bad review lol.
Many other reviewers love it... and also this person ignored most of the game because they didn't like it - AND they never mention the difficulty modes, which exist and makes me wonder what difficulty they played on.
I’m glad I played the demo. 20 mins in i just wasn’t having fun
Exactly. Its not fun. Once you fight two or three enemies, you get how fighting will be.
I unfortunately expected this
Most people like it though…
So did anybody enjoy the demo?
Hit or miss
I haven’t played much, but it’s mostly boring combat and any interesting house or zone won’t let you enter yet.
Well damn I thought the demo pretty alright lol
I did. Didn't really do much, but I bet the full game will have much more to do.
Demo was terrible. The actual game looks and sounds pretty good based on other reviews.
Seems stellar blade is the better choice this weekend
I tried the demo and had absolutely no clue what I was even supposed to do or the hook of the game. Ya beat up enemies, but to what end? Are there rewards? Does it get more interesting/complex? It didn’t explain anything or how progression works. The trailers already made it looked boring and the demo didn’t help. The fact reviews are echoing it’s boring just proves my initial impression/reaction. Sad that it was the newest IP from Toriyama to get a game, but that can be overlooked given everything else he created.
I kindly suggest giving the game a try yourself rather than letting this video shape your opinion. It is judgmental and close-minded.
Additionally, I recommend checking out better quality reviews for a more knowledgeable perspective.
I'd like to defend him in the sense that even if he's not a fan of the genre, he at least had an open enough mind to give it an earnest try (plus like, this game is dawg, just go play any Nier game)
So let me get this straight, you want “GOW Ragnarok” which is a bunch of unskippable walking and talking segments?🤷♂️
Ragnarok has great diverse combat, good amount of enemy variety, a really good challenge if played on higher difficulties and interesting dialogue between the characters when exploring. The two aren't even comparable. But in the vid he says he's not really wanting to compare it to bigger games like that he just wishes there was more depth to what there is.
Walking and talking segments in Ragnarok is just like 30 percent of the whole game but the game it has to offer from combat to rpg elements to boss fights to exploration and puzzle was not even comparable to this game
Hate RPG? Opinion of the game entirely discarded. Maybe if someone who actually enjoyed it gives an opinion on it then it could be more understandable.
You don't like JRPGs?
lame review.
