- In this video, Jordan shows you how to make a wooden spoon on the lathe.
It's a great project for turners of all skill levels and is a fantastic way of using up smaller scrap pieces of timber that you're not quite sure what to do with.
The spoon in this video is made from American white oak and it was turned using carbide turning tools from Easy Wood Tools.

Great video! I haven't seen the trick with fitting the bowl in the chuck by removing a jaw. Great idea! New sub.
Turn your lathe speed up, carbide loves higher speed. You'll get a much cleaner cut with carbide tools if you use a higher speed than traditional HSS. Good project, well done.

Dude needs a bandsaw. Also you should consider hot gluing the spoon to a Tenon piece. That'll give you more clearance
