Woodturning - The Easiest Project to Turn and Sell for Beginners!

- In this week’s woodturning video, Harry and I need to replenish an inventory item because we’ve nearly sold out! These bottle openers are about as easy of a project as you can get for a beginner.
With summer just around the corner there’s sure to be lots of bottles being opened at pool parties so make sure you get to turning some of these great gifts!
As far as turning goes here are the steps!
1. Make it round
2. Make the diameter fit into the end cap!
3. You’re done!
I tend to like going with the simple cylinder as it mimics the rest of the shell but you could always add some beads and coves if you would like to vary the design and get in some additional practice.
Thanks for watching!

Great idea Robert.
Awesome idea, Hodge! Nice work!
Great quick project. Well done!
Wow, these are perfect.👍👏👏👏
great job
Very nice 👍
Very nice,Robert
Super simple idea I like those Good job Robert👍👍
Nice job well done😘😘
cool idea
Great idea using the expended shotgun shells! Looks like a nice easy project. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this! Wouldn't you think a ferrule might give it more stability, considering you already weakened the top end of your wood by boring the hole for the theraded insert?
Nice project. Rather than taking the time to bring up the tail stock with the drill, just put a small centered hole on the end and use a handheld drill bit with a homemade handle on it. Put it up to the centered hole and you can drill the hole in a couple seconds. Also works great for drilling a depth hole for bowls, boxes etc. A small pill or toothpick box in the shotgun shell size would be cool.
Interesting idea, I think I’ll make a few of these
Very nice sir have a great day ✌️
...12th "like"...lucky me...gauging from the "likes", 12th should be just perfect!!!
Well done...👍...and now I'm shot...😉
Matt
Nice, Robert. Now you can crack open four cold ones at once. If Harry says he hears that it looks too big a lot, just tell him looks are deceiving.
Bill
Haha Robert dont do that with live rounds mate. They turned out great there buddy well done.
That's a very nice looking jig for the drill press you have. Was it self built?
Great project but how do you get the paper wad at the bottom. I got the plastic out but the paper wad is stuck in there something fierce.
Wish you had mentioned those were spent shells...heaven knows someone will try to use live ones...stay safe...press on 😎Joe
I was going to say the same thing. Darwin Award material...
I would have to sell a whole bunch of these to be able to justify the cost of the shotgun.😃
Well, I don't have a shotgun either. Actually I bought the empty shells online. I figured I could probably go ask at gun ranges but never got around to that.
