I had a lot of trouble singing it while playing the chords on acoustic, because the verse melody seems like it doesn't fit in at all when learning it. The rythm of the words is quite special. Took me quite a while to not think about it and sing it correctly. The backing vocals seems way more natural imo. (sorry for my english)

But people don't realize our minds are one, and these songs are commenting/journalizing real people and events.
To elaborate: I'm quite sure you're singing "There ain't no preparation..." -- which is incorrect. Noel's writing a song substituting the possessive pronoun "my" for the person this happened to, and "you" refers to a collective group of people who subjected this person the incident. As usual, he combines it with some quite insightful speculations on reality itself, and some purely poetic nonsense. -- Unless you can explain to me what "the sink is full of fishes" refers to. [EDIT: Looking at a couple live versions, Liam flat out uses "THEY made no preparation" in the second chorus.]
