      Art has become a household name in the drumming community. I enjoy watching his past and current videos with Lamb. As a drummer myself, I enjoy learning some of your techniques. Thanks for uploading and sharing. When I started drumming in the 90's, we didn't have access to content like this to learn from. Most of our learning was by ear and guessing what's being played. Wish I had this technology to learn from like today. So kids,... take advantage of it. Soak up the knowledge.

    That was totally awesome!!! I'm just beginning to learn the double pedal. I'm a 3 time stroke survivor who also has drop foot in both feet. I wear full leg braces. It took me 3 months to press the pedal down w my foot. I am determined to learn this. Watching you did wonders for me. Thank you so much

    This technique is so simple. I have always been a fan of dual kicks and even for someone who doesn't have a great grasp on keeping in rhythm it helps to alternate feet doing this. It has really helped. Thank you Art for sharing with us the power of the heel-toe technique

    Let's everyone just keep in mind that it doesn't matter what pedals you have or how big your feet are to do heal-toe. The CORRECT way of doing heal-toe doesn't even require you to have your heal on the pedal.

    • @v.9652
      @v.9652 Před 7 lety +2

      This is also a correct way to do heel-toe, but it only works on a long board. But this technique is not incorrect in any way. If it works for you, it works, if not, then try another technique.

    What is a ride cymbal? This man may never know...

    • @willfendon6916
      @willfendon6916 Před 9 lety +4

      It's actually very simple. There are 7 types of cymbals in the world (though only 4 of them are used generally) there is the Crash, which is the standard cymbal he's hitting, there is the ride like you said, which is a really large cymbal which you don't necessarily hit hard, you kinda just tap it with the tip of your sticks. There is a splash, which are the little cymbals that are in the middle which make a sound similar to well, a splashing sound. And finally, there's the Hybrid, which kinda sounds like tinfoil being hit, and are the two cymbals where the Middle is inclined down.
      You're welcome :D

    • @theone1949
      @theone1949 Před 8 lety +4

      +Ville Nummisalo look up Jared falk videos he has a pretty explanation. Actual heel toe (as Jared falk explains) is actually more like toe toe . You drop you heel and hit the pedal with like the balls of your feet and then you kind of slide forward and get the second hit.

      Hollandia SV Yes, but it makes no difference to how difficult or easy something is to play, that's a misconception.

    • @Jacksoncomplex
      @Jacksoncomplex Před 9 lety +1

      You dont need much power at all for triggers you can just tap it and the sample will register. Without a trigger the sound may not be picked up by a mic

    • @pietzsche
      @pietzsche Před 9 lety +1

      I've heard that said lots, personally, the faster I go, the harder I hit, not because I'm consciously trying, but that's just how it is. Most drummers I know of that use triggers do so because the bass drum hit that fast stops sounding like individual hits, and starts sounding like a single sustaining note because of the physical shape of the sound wave. I don't know anyone who can play that fast and doesn't have the power. You could be right, but it seems like a myth to me tbh.
