- My horses get cuddles here and there but no where near as much as charlotte cuddles hers . This morning Charlotte turns up and wanted to do a cuddle test on my 3 geldings . Did they pass the cuddle test ? And do any of your horses cuddle better than mine ?

They are all cute: but none of them cuddles like my friend's Arabian horse. She'd reach over the top rail, over our shoulder, then tuck her lower jawbone against our shoulder blade, and she'd pull us in against her. She'd literally give us a hug. Then we'd reach up to wrap our arms up both sides of her neck to hug her back. We'd both relax into the hug and be in a state of shared peace together. That was thirty years ago. I still remember that horse's hugs.🥰
Yes I have a little Canadian mare than pulls you in for a hug exactly like that.
I feel jealous and sad at the same time reading this. 🐴😔. What wonderful memories you must have of that time sharing hugs with a special friend. ❤❤❤
My part Arab was like that - she would rest her head on the top of mine - her twin jawbones sinking into my head!! And roll her eyes heavenwards! I wish my current Arab would be that fussy, but he’s not too bothered.
We want to see the video of Steve later on trying to cuddle Rolex, telling him to forget about Charlotte. 😁
If you was a old as me you'd remember a TV show from the 60's called Mr. Ed about a horse of that name that talked. I used to love that show and it was the start of me loving horses, especially Palominos cuz that's what Ed was. ❤
I remember Mr Ed! And palominos have been my lifelong favourites too 😊 not so many of them here in Scotland though....

All of them are very sweet and I'm sure if they were cuddled daily they'd get better at it. The best initially was Rolex. Somebody used to cuddle that boy. 🥰

My thoroughbred mare that I raised from a yearling, was in a run in shed during the winter. I would bring a bucket of hot water down to her with her evening feed. She was alone in the winter and would get lonely. I would sit on the stoop and she would come behind me and rest her chin in my shoulder I would talk to her and rub her head. We did this until I got too cold and had to leave her.I always felt sorry when I left and she would neigh after me hoping I would come back. She was gentle and kind and loved children. She was also very fast and athletic and a good jumper. We had a strong connection.
All the Arabs adored cuddles, apart from one. Usually their lips trembled. Even the stallions went as soft as eiderdown. And scratching in favourite spots left them ecstatic. One used to scrabble the floor with his hooves so we rarely did it in case he fell over. The mares do become more loving as the pregnancy advances, but when they get very large they often prefer to be left alone. More videos like this, please!
Mine would never do that with a stranger. She never wanted human affection until I came in. Years later, I purchased her and im still the only one she will accpet and enjoy cuddles from. Makes me love her even more. Took forever for her to show she enjoyed some cuddles here and there. Now she neck hugs and ask to be rubbed on the belly and thighs when Im around.
I came to collect a crafty pony the other week and had a cuddle from George. ❤

My paint mare - now 23 3/4 yrs old….(had her since she was 10) -and she has NEVER been a cuddly girl - a big disappointment to me as my previous horse would run up to meet me and cuddle all day…..BUT my current girl is the most trustworthy horse and the best ride.
I've never owned horses, but have always loved watching them. I've seen several videos of horses around small children lately, and was curious to know if horses sense the need to be gentle/careful so as not to hurt/injure them? Love your channel. Thank you!

Yes Steve, the two mares are more cuddly because of their pregnancy. It is like that with dogs, so I suppose horses are the same way.

more like a massage or scratching.
I scratch my horses all the time or massage their necks and chest during cleaning and sometimes even during riding. Of course they like that.
