Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy wargame developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. Released on June 6, 2016, it is the sequel to Hearts of Iron III and part of the Hearts of Iron series of grand strategy games focusing on World War II. I'm fairly sure it does apply to subs too because it doesn't say that it specifically helps only the surface ships.

After the big nerf to collab governments I stopped bothering with them, but maybe I need to get back into doing those after this demonstration. Boy all that high compliance looks juicy... I also think this nuke-rush strat would be interesting for Japan, maybe try for that Hirohito Shot First achievement?

The Hog Rider card is unlocked from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). He is a very fast building-targeting, melee troop with moderately high hitpoints and damage. Great again, I always love Germany playthroughs. Keep them coming.
First off, love your videos. You make me laugh and I like using your stuff in multiplayer games to make people rage-quit. Just did the nuke spam as Royalist Britain and had a wonderful rage-quit from the USA player. He told me that nukes 'don't damage units and you can't break a Level 10 Fort in mountains'. For the record, he was wrong and the nukes win 99% of the time (the other 1% is when my shitty computer crashes due to dropping too many nukes at once).
With this build, is there a reason that you don't push for an earlier Anschluss? Will it derail the build if you Anschluss in 1936? This is sort of standard for me, where I use a one-battalion infantry template to spam out 30 infantry divisions, convert them and then Anschluss as my 2nd or 3rd focus, but I'm wondering if it derails your strategy.

I do use shortcut commands all the time but I haven't been able to memorize them all.
Another good command to modify your frontlines is to press and hold the Alt-key so you can alter the frontlines and attack orders all at once.
This is off topic from the video, but I was playing China on Hearts of Iron 4. Germany copulated and I wanted to make the borders nice and clean, and the Soviets took some of Africa but I selected all states then gave the entire Soviet Union to UK. It Broke the game so badly that I had to restart my P.C. So yea...

Holy Crap - I have almost 2,500 Hours in HOI4 and it never dawned on me that the torpedo upgrades are only for light ships/ cruisers - not subs..... until I watch this video. what the f*&% lol. Awesome videos - keep it up.
Hey Dave have you ever think about the focus tree. The focus tree is just basically Smitler general just ask him what should we do next and he just stop responding and 3 month later he just said let go for Poland and start to stop responding again for another 3 month
It does effect the subs btw when they start retreating from battles

I love shortcuts so much I even made a mod with MORE shortcuts. And then I played modded hoi4 and my shortcuts didn't work so I fixed them only because I love not using my mouse when I don't have to

set up the Antilles and Dutch Guyana as puppets, you can trade with them, 80 resources for 1 factory and when the war kicks off you won't have to call them in, so you won't immediately lose them.
Seeing italys ask to join faction notification for most of the game stresses me out so much… JUST ACCEPT IT ALREADY

You should get someone to make an ironmade friedly mod that logs what you do (like research order, amount of troops and factories, focus order, laws and advisors), so that people can use your tactics easier from a text file

What I understood playing this game is if you go non-historical and go in a lot of early wars, it is less chance that Austria or CZE is going to accept your demands

I must admit 2 things: firstly, I am a strat copycat when it comes to world conquest strats. Secondly, next time me and the bois play hoi4 overnight, they will get ripped to shreds.
Unless they are ai levels of bad, this strat might not work if they get 40 width heavy tanks and you know... an actual airforce
@@kandymanis I know how the bois play, so I am always able to adapt to their playstyle and disrupt their strats.
I also like to perform actual sabotage (drop good para in a mid density province & supply them over air while demolishing the industry in the occupied area (you must have min 15 free factories for this to work). As soon as the industry is wracked, swap para template to shitty (to save eq) and then let the para perish. Result is a total RIP for industry in a province. Also works good if an air field is nearby - you capture it & use it for additional support & then either destroy it and kill your para or gtfo and let the opponent take the empty province back.
An effective strat during stalemates or to screw your bros over (and my bros usually do produce some nice amounts of salt when I do such shit).
I use the add units to different front lines short cuts and the halt attack short cuts

I've tried replicating this many times. Doing much better in terms of research and spy work, optimizing production, etc but I can't make a successful invasion of Britain. British troops walk all over me even after I get the ports and a couple more territories. Don't have supply problems. I have transport 2 for naval invasions, guns and artillery all better research than in the video, to no avail. Great video, though. Loved watching it. Sort of a summary for division templates, numbered focus tree and researches would be great for each of your videos. Maybe in the commentary sections. Thanks and keep up the good work

I always get stuck in the uk. I’m never able to take a port. Even if all 10 of my divisions make it onto the beachhead, there are just so many troops on the ports that my naval invasion dies within days. Any tips?
