This curious, powerful album is given its own life. Independent of the artist, the narrative goals and the writing, the album comes alive with potent, alien noise as it waits in a restless slumber, awakening at the end. This deeply disturbed yet, soft, heartfelt and real account of disjointed human feelings is a wonderful project and a great aesthetic feat. However, is that enough to make it amazing? Is this album even made for us, the listeners? Why?
I hope you enjoyed the video.
Fav Tracks: I know the end, Savior Complex, DVD Menu, Graceland Too
    Least Favs: ICU

15:10 how dare you say that abt Chinese satellite😭😭
I really like how it talks about her spiritual beliefs, and how annoyed/confused/helpless about them.
The lyric “but you know I’d stand on a corner embarrassed with a picket sign if it meant I could see you when I die”
Is SOOO good, completely describes my trouble with my spiritual beliefs

This is one of those albums, for which I want to erase my memory and listen it for the first time again. Such a good album. Love your analysis too❤️❤️

I agree with everything you've said apart from about Chinese satellite. that song is not on the nose at all... it describes the deep longing of an atheist to want to confront grief positively whilst fighting a battle against their own morals and beliefs. it's not tangible at all. I would encourage you to listen again... it's absolutely intricate and as someone who's experienced this situation almost exactly, it is so detailed and paralleled it's beyond belief.

Cheers! I’m having a hard time choosing what to make videos about so I really appreciate the suggestions! I can’t believe I missed Phoebe Bridgers for that long honestly, what a talent.

@@marnotreally I was just going to suggest reacting to Mitski's Be the Cowboy. I think it is a hair better than Punisher. (fun fact: They are on the same indie record label)

It came to me by surprise as I was shuffling my spotify downloads while driving. Best song from that year, and maybe amongst my favorite ever. An untouchable masterpiece.

I just stumbled upon this video and I'm glad I did. Interesting takes on Punisher. This was my first exposure to Bridgers too. I heard she was heavily influenced by Elliott Smith and it shows in her hushed delivery and snarky wit (especially on ICU -- she even borrowed some of his insults.) The album is mostly minimal with a few lush flourishes in the instrumentation here-and-there which I think works for it -- these seem like they are supposed to be intimate vignettes and overproducing these songs would ruin the effect or drown her voice out. You should give Mitski's "Be The Cowboy" a shot -- the songs are also witty vignettes, but less snarky and sincere and more so quirky and (uncomfortably) lovestruck. Plus the production is packs a lot in mostly under 3 minute songs. (It's a short album but doesn't feel like it -- in a good way).

Thank you for your comment! The Vignette statement is something that I strongly agree with. The album has a very real, lively yet sinister charm and character. I’m very glad to have been recommended it and will continue to look into Mitski since the name has popped up more than once.
To be frank, I’m very confused on what videos to do next. All the time.

react to taylor swift’s folklore. though folklore is leaning more towards pop than folk, the album is also full of great songs. phoebe bridgers enjoyed the record too, she posted a lot about it on her twitter.

I’ve wanted to do a video of folklore for a while now, I just think I missed a good time window to do it. I’m sure I would enjoy it thougt! Might to do in the lead up for a future Taylor project or even just on my own.
