- The Evolution of Chuck E Cheese! The Chuck E Cheese restaurants (formerly Pizza Time Theatre) offer entertainment for the whole family through arcade games, pizza, animatronics and live characters. Next to the animatronics, meeting Chuck E Cheese himself has become a staple of the restaurant. Since the first Chuck E Cheese opened in 1977 the Chuck E. character has seen quite the change in his appearance; through the days of Atari, Pizza Time Theatre going bankrupt and being bought by Showbiz Pizza Place, and the complete Chuck E Cheese character redesign of 2012; there's a lot of character history in the restaurants. So this video will outline the Chuck E Cheese restaurant history and take a look at the evolution of the Chuck E Cheese Character!

No doubt, Avenger Chuck is the most iconic and I miss him. That being said, I like the current look for Chuck. He looks cuter and even more friendly now. He may look very different now, but I still like him.

Avenger Chuck was my ENTIRE childhood!!! I miss going to Chuck E Cheese as a kid, such fun times! The pizza may be awful and the animatronics may be running down, but it was so magical as a kid!

You comment on that video and I wanted to apologize for making that thing in the first place. I was a big fan of Chuck.e.cheese and Fnaf and wanted to make my own. As a 2000s kid, I remember the avenger era Chuck inside the store but the picture of him on the outside was still cool chuck from the 90s. They just recently updated him to the newest version.
Same. I was a 2000’s kid and grew up with Avenger Chuck but I remember my CEC had the Cool Chuck logo outside and never changed it to Avenger. The logo wasn’t changed till Rock Star Chuck came.

In my area there were more Showbiz Pizza's than Chuck E. Cheese's. I remember getting to either of them were far away till the franchise expanded to closer locations.

The avengers area chuck is a lot more nostalgic to me because every time my parents would go out of town we would pass the restaurant, we only went to it once for my sisters birthday party but that was it. But the main reason why I like the avengers area design is because that’s the one I saw whilst we went out of town. It was my view of the restaurant from the highway and it symbolizes a time in my life when everything was simpler.

For me, easily the 1980’s ads when they showed him. I was SO fascinated when I saw it and actually surprise but also disappointed when I noticed that they only used it for commercials. But it looks cartoony, real but not to real, and friendly! For me, the 1980’ Chuck E. Cheese is my favorite design. Hmm, I might actually draw it! ❤

My favorite version of Chuck E. Cheese is Avenger Chuck. It was the version during my childhood, and I honestly don't like the Present Day Chuck. It looks too cheesy, no pun intended, and stupid. I loved and still love Avenger Chuck, and I really hope that they don't make that version extinct.

Mario Heredia Hey, I'm not being mean and saying we should burn all present day Chuck costumes, I just wish they'd bring back Avenger Chuck and also not make the animatronics disappear to be replaced with that stupid dance floor.
