the way he pronounces Manhattan i realized later was him referring to the region as the Indigenous land that NYC occupies. the tribes there was the Manahata (sp?) tribe and that was a golden nugget that I love that Taika put in. it would make sense that he would call it that if they've been there since colonization.

Matt Berry was a gem in Darkplace and the IT Crowd, so glad he's been blowing up lately - Shadows is one of my favorite show the past 5 years. Hearing him, Taika and Richard in the Star Wars series' made me so proud :')
In an old podcast interview I heard (can't remember which one) Matt Berry said part of it came from when he was working at the London Dungeon as one of the characters and it would be a way of keeping the dialogue interesting after doing it for the 200th time that week. Its also interesting how many TV ads and other media copy his style

There's tonnes of shops (and the staff are all dressed period appropriately), gold panning, horse carriages, and they do a re-enactment of the events leading up to the Eureka Stockade (one of our few attempts at civil insurrection) called "Blood on the Southern Cross" I'm super into historical re-enactment, I wish there was more of it here.
