I dedicate this video to all my fellow balloon poppers out there
OmarIsuf never clicked off balloon popping so fast
The 2 of you need to do a video with Alan Thrall
There could be more baloons and less clothes. just saying
Loving the background music! Please use it more
OmarIsuf why did you ask a sumo cheater for advice
i was just focusing on balloon guy seems so dedicated.
Lung hypertrophy training bro
is the dude doing helium?
The level of troll in that balloon guy is mind blowing.
"Being explosive through your L5 is not the right way to deadlift" -OmarIsuf, 2018
"the optimum and most highest level of cheating"
i love it
2019?
2020?
2021?
2022?
Thank you so much for bringing Bryce, sorry Bruce, to our attention with these last two videos. I have been binge watching his videos and his content is incredible. It's so wonderful to see you help bring smaller channels to light that they really deserve!
3:06 to see Jordan Peterson throw a nazi salute
lololol
Lmao
Lift de lobster
some lefty snowflake will crop it out and post it with the headline "JP secretly filmed at this alt right meeting paying homage to Hitler!"
Grant Paul Lol.
I love that you've started to colab with many different people, it gives alot more perspective and view, both from you and others. Really love your videos man, keep getting stronger! Peace
Freaking love Bryce's CZcams channel. He puts out such good quality content and does an awesome job with video/music editing. It's probably one of the most under-rated fitness channels that will blow up soon.
watchin the guy blowing up a balloon and had to rewind to know what they were saying.
easy way to increase watch time :)
As someone in his early 50s who is a workout warrior, but just started deadlifting in the past month, these tips are invaluable. Very well presented. Please have him on again Omar.
As awesome as Bryce's advice is, Omar needs a lot of credit for asking the right questions too. A great video thank you for posting.
I remember when I first started deadlifting my biggest cue was one that I learned from E Hulse and it was “pushing yourself off the floor”. Glad to see Calgary reiterating that
Great video! very insightful. Thanks for posting!
Awesome video guys. Will definitely take notes for next deadlift day.
Well said, what helped me the most is being patient of the floor as bryce would say and using the quads to break the weight off the floor!
Found my guy Bryce through Candito a while back, glad to see he's getting some recognition! Super underrated channel
I didn't even notice balloon guy till I came to the comments. I was engrossed in the sound tips being given to improve my deadlift. I have hurt my back being explosive off the floor because I wanted to increase my speed off the floor. Now I just embrace my slow start and crawl my way up on max pulls. Good job making this insightful vid.
Balloon fetish satisfied!!
Thank you for this video. I just started deadlifting and i love it, so thanks for the tips :)
I love this Guy he sems realy Nice and modest 👍
Felix Marcil Canadian, 90% of us are modest
jj lifting so like 90 Canadians are modest... :-P
Nobody's modest like I'm modest. Put the most humble, modest mouse-colored people you can think of next to me and they'll look like arrogant boastful douches.
population is 36 million
Thanks Omar
Loving these Calgary barbell collabs
you know what else is so fresh and so clean? Bryce's sleeves bruh
Quality video my dude
Good Tips! Thanks
Came here for Bryce.... Always good advice!!
Thanks for a great video bro's :-)
I made it all the way to the end, AND I was not bored or on the shitter haha
But I also lift slow from the floor, so it's nice to hear that i'm not wrong :-)
I like this collab
badass vid
The guy blowing up the balloon in the back lmao...
love it
I love watching tips from Bryce before my training sessions, knowledgeable guy and strong af, reminds me of Brady Brosef! Aka Chef Buff fuaaaa
3:18 Nice to see Jordan Peterson returning to his roots as a powerlifting judge
SQUAAAAAAAAAAAD 👊💪
BRYCE’S THE MAN! 💪 #strongAF
cringe
Good info in this video, thanks for sharing! Btw...what is that guy doing in the background, taking selfie’s blowing up the balloon, maybe whip-it’s?
His legs are freakin huge! 👍👍
I think it's a sign...
Not much
Yeah at the start I thought he didn't look as huge as I'd expect, saw his legs and actually laughed at my previous thought.
Lmao with the guy with the balloon
Nice double camera game, "Oh were you soft", Oscar winning stuff
good shit boss
Love the music
That is so cool
The 2 of you need to do a video with Alan Thrall
Balloon guys focus is unbreakable.
If anyone cares, another person that transitioned to a smoother, slower pull and made some insane gains in terms of weights is Pete Rubish. Pete is someone that used to "grip and rip" but has since started doing "smooth" pulls and has seen some significant strength gains. Yes PEDs help, but he was on PEDs before the change in technique and was making marginal gains.
Mohammed Spondon then there's Larry, slowing down to everyone else's speed-pulls
3rKo I was thinking about Larry with the speed lifts too. Idk how he manages to get tight and stay tight in that instant that he grabs and goes. But hey I’m not a freak like him.
3rKo Wheels, Lilliebridge and Hause all pull like they're starting a fuckin chainsaw lol their speed is insane
LOl,, Thought you were gonna say transitioned to opposite gender ... LOLOLOLOLOL
"what's cracking guys Oh were you soft here back with another video" best one yet
I really like the background music in this video
Liked for the jazz ambiance
Aous doin some heavy blowing back there
On the Shitor, but great video I recognize this in myself about couple of weeks ago way bigger and stronger but still lifting the same weight changed up at technique pretty much hit a PR on the spot
Nice hook grip mate
Bryce is the man!
Herniated L5-S1 2 years ago performing Romanian deadlifts. I was stupid. The frequency I did them and the weight I was using was too much for my body to handle... Its a great exercise but it MUST be done with proper form and weight in order to avoid really bad repercussions. Nobody’s immune to injuries... take it easy
Oh man. This is my story. Im relearning my DL after hitting a plateau. I started by stepping away from conventional and starting to work on deficit, paused, sumo, and rack pulls. All with much lower weight. Ive been revisiting my conventional and although im far from my all time RM, i think im defijitely getting stronger. Getting the bar off the floor is a bitch but I am much more explosive on my lock out. This video was reassuring and motivating... The ego takes a toll when no PR's are on the medium term horizon...
Somewhat unrelated question. When you grip the bar (aside from hook grip) do you hold it in your palm like a bench press or in your fingers like you were in the video ??

“What’s cracking guys, oh you were soft here”
I swear he sets this up to sound like this and it’s not buggy voice recognition lol
6 dislikes? Perfect video dudes.
6 crossfitters checked in.
1:15 YASSSSSSSSSSS BALLOON FOR DAYS!
Dude that first tip is so true! I missed 315 a week ago (I'm 140 and only been lifting for about 2 months) because I hyped myself way too much and tried to explode off the floor then missed it around my knees because I was off balance let the bar get too far away on my left side and started to lose my grip. Went back this monday and set up methodicaly and pulled slowly and more deliberately and banged out 3 reps at 315 like it wasn't a problem. Great tip!
i love this +Omarlsuf just getting into powerlifting and this helps a lot, thank you
I think it was someone at California Strength that said something to the effect of "positions, then speed, then weight"
3:05 didn't know Jorden Peterson was a head judge
Jason Tyger Jordan Peterson is a boss. Only natural that he would judge boss like things.
Jordan Peterson is a scrawny dork that probably doesn't even know what a deadlift is.
Jeremy N I disagree. I believe he did an interview with Dave Rubin where he says weightlifting can improve posture and therefore improve confidence in life.
Damn looks exactly like him lol
I think he said in one of his Q.A videos that his max bench was something like 200 or 225 I can't remember which
Its pretty strange seeing people hate on Bryce after following him for so long but I guess thats part of what comes with becoming more popular
I wonder how many best advice videos there are
Dood with the balloon kept me watching
this guy is cool
I'm halfway through and ANXIOUS about this balloon in the background. Dontpopdontpopdontpop.....
You got me...I'm on the shitter
I like to train on NO2 balloons, really helps with the gains.
3:05 Canada got Jordan Peterson refereeing deadlifts?
Hey Omar! I'm coming back to weight lifting after about a year long break, any tips for training? My numbers will be way down so that will probably suck...
Smoothest deadlift i've seen. Almost robotic
Jepp keep blowing the ballong😂👍
"Optimum and most highest level of cheating" LMAO I love this guy.
Hahaha I was actually taking a dump Omar knows man! He knows!
Background music?
Plz
Can confirm trying to pull my deadlifts fast was a horrible idea. All that would happen is I would lock out my knees way too early and get out of position and I could never lock out a heavy weight. Stay in position! Great video guys.
Colin DeWaay I don't necessarily think that is true. To be fair I just think that is a bad movement pattern issue. I had the same issue but it was simply from not learning how to deadlift correctly from the start.
Nowadays I have good form and I still pull fast. Lighter weights fly up fast and when it gets heavier my form sticks. That good form basically automatically causes a difficult deadlift to be slow off the floor.
coen071993 you don’t want to pull slow for the sake of being slow you pull only as slow as necessary to stay in position. I got out of position by rushing it off the floor because locking my knees too early would get the weight off the floor faster.
Colin DeWaay I know. I had the same but after a long time doing good form I pull as fast as I can without breaking form. If it is actually too heavy I will just miss off the floor now. That is why I am saying I feel like it is more of a general form issue rather than just trying to pull fast being the issue.
I made it to the end of the video and actually I WAS on the shitter lmao
Nice collab, but what happened to the video quality tho
3:50 that pull was crazy
lmao guy in the back was getting mad high before a workout
MUST TRY!!
Bryce pronounced Bruce ?
Bro were to get the tshirts the guy in the back with the ballon is wearing?
1:00 Eddie Hall would like a word with you
Ripping and gripping will use the dominant muscles and prevents weaker muscles from catching up.
wat gear and dosages do u use
"Pinch the armpits shut"
A tasty lil cue right there, thanks!
AgentOrangeX22 "Tasty" and "armpits" in the same phrase! Lol
But, it works 😉
opinions on a slight thoracic flexion on deadlifts? Thx Omar and Bryce!
Third mistake, i have This problem (with hips)..How to avoid that mistake?
Maxx Chewning needs to watch this video
balloon dude stole the show!
that fool with the baloon and the pink cup , though...
6:46 right in the soul
lol at the balloon guy
Liked it, but not sure about the music though.
Are some people shaving their legs to decrease the amount of agony you're in, when the bar is ripping out your hair?:D otherwise, am I going to get used to the pain as I don't want to shave my legs.. it starts to get to hot for sweatpants
Sumo, wider feet so the height you lock out at is lower then conventional, barbell travels relatively less distance. Even tough if I'd be making gains sumo just the same as conventional. This why I would always want to PR or compete conventional.
subtitles called the guy bryce prawn truck
Nice muscles
