This was THE most educational video about the touchbar I've seen. Everyone is shelling out snap judgements about it without talking about power-user features. If I can customize this thing this early in its life cycle, I'm super happy.
yes, exactly, this touch bar is amazing. Honestly I think other companies are really upgrading their products and keeping their prices low, so people think that by bashing a product to get it to reduce price, but apple won´t care and people will still buy apple. I love it.
1:10 I like that you can adjust brightness and volume in "one fell swoop." I've seen dozens of review videos and some reviewers did not know this-- some, of which, even labeling it as a con for needing a two-step process to adjusting these settings.

I am terribly late, but tbh it looks like you have to do that with 2 steps. If the slider appeared under your finger instead of the middle it would be much much easier to notice.
Have they done anything on the NOKIA Phones. What changes have been to upgraded version

you can also just flick the slider icon and the volume will go up or down if you slide right or left
My favorite one is skipping CZcams ads with Touch Bar.

@@nikolalutov8898 when the ad starts you use it to scrub it enough that you can click skip this ad while watching less than a second. note that this only works with safari since other browsers don't have proper support for this Touch Bar feature

I got my first touch bar MacBook yesterday (the M1) and I LOVE it! It is a huge upgrade from my 2012 MBP! The touch bar is such a cool, unique addition and it makes the laptop way more enjoyable to use, and it speeds up certain things as well. These tips are really useful, thank you! :D

I LOVE IT when you're using powerpoint or pdf presentation, the touchbar shows you the slides!

By far the most amazing feature of touch bar is you can skip ads in CZcams and any other streaming service no more annoying 2 minutes ads on hulu or CZcams i just have to swipe to fast forward

can somebody help me ? I updated my macbook pro yesterday (10.15.2) and now when I'm using touch bar, it need to load, like it showing on both touch bar screen and mac screen. Is it something wrong with my mac or can I close that setting?
I need your help please. How Can I customize the touch id button for restart/sleep mode just like windows. For instance if I press it once I want to put my mac into sleep. I searched everywhere but nobody seems to know. Is that even possible?

I was hoping to find out why I can no longer move the documents on my desktop. With the old macbook pro you just clicked and slid a document icon into a folder. Now it doesn't move! How do I group individual documents on the desktop into a folder?

I was told to hate it when it first came along in 2016, being mocked as the "emoji bar". I now use it a lot for the macOS screen recorder for education video making on which the bar displays the duration & stop button while giving me the add-ons for Preview, the program being recorded. Moreover, I enjoy using the word-correction function & suggested emojis with the apps-specific functionality. Tons of people here on CZcams swallow what others spit.

Same here. That's the closest we ever got to having a touch screen feel of the MacBook.
Another tip is if your MacBook is locked and but the screen is showing (on) if you swipe with your finger from left to right on the touch bar the screen will turn black instead of you waiting like for 5 mins for it to do it automatically :)
Anyone know how to move the pesky ESC key further to the right on the Touch Bar? I am constantly hitting it by accident, causing any email I'm currently writing to disappear.

I love some of your tricks. I have a 2018 Macbook Pro and the Esc function to the left of the Esc key on the touchbar doesn't always work once the touchbar goes to sleep. That is, when the touchbar goes to sleep, I can sometimes tap on the very end of the touch bar to get the esc key to work. Sometimes it doesn't. I have tried this watching videos on full screen. Sometimes that esc feature (when touchbar is in sleep mode) would work to get out of full screen mode, sometimes it won't. Are you experiencing this? Do you know how to fix this?

to change volume or brightess my touchbar requires two steps, my touch bar used to work like it shows in the video, but not anymore. any ideas how to revert it?
Does the Control Bar bit always show? so if you are browsing Safari, does it stay so that you can change the volume without having to go into the music app of choice and change it? Is the Touch Bar worth the extra money - or it is just a gimmick? what's your thought on that?

The media controls got me very interested. Does it work with any media playback app like VLC, Vox or Spotify as well? Meaning, can I switch between the app currently playing media, change tracks and so on?

So when I try to watch ur videos or any other videos on CZcams through safari, my media scrubber doesn’t skip.
I don’t know why but it doesn’t work with CZcams on safari but works with other apps like Spotify and iTunes.
Let me know if you changed some settings
Guys I need your expertise. I have never owned a MacBook before but have the iPhone and Apple Watch. I need a new laptop since I’m working at home. What would be the best for me, a MacBook Air or pro? I will be doing IT for my company and need to access vpns working a lot with Exell etc. would a MacBook Air suit my needs?

Thanks for this helpful video. I just got a new Mac Book Pro 2017 and it's slightly disorienting. The touch bar somehow switched to a different option with the slider feature for brightening or dimming the screen. I cannot figure out how to return to that mode. Secondly, is there a way to make the touchpad less sensitive as it makes the cursor jumps all over the screen. I have to use an external keyboard with bluetooth to avoid it skipping all over the screen. I'd appreciate your tips.
Other than the pricing of the models with a Touchbar, the Touchbar itself is freaking amazing. I got one with a touchbar, but I only spent a grand for a 256gb model so yes, It is worth it at that price. Definitely not worth 1500 though.
The tap and slide tip makes the touch bar experience way better and quicker. I don't know what i would without this channel. Thanks!

my extra control strip button for media controls isn't showing up anymore? when i first got it yesterday it was working but not anymore, any ideas? it works with iTunes and used to work with safari but safari doesn't do it with youtube anymore, how about amazon music?

I bought a MacBook Pro 2016 model few days ago. I simply love it. It is easy to use. Especially the terminal(shell) allows you to do so many things, that they take so much time to do in Windows. For example to produce in my web app an SSL key for https requests,in windows you have to download openSSL and pray to make it work. In MAC it is a matter of minutes. At some point I want to get deep into iOS development,but at the moment i am really busy with Android and Node js Development.

thanks for the video. I have a Macbook Pro 16 and Big Sur. Lately my touch bar slider for volume and brightness is not working. I used to be able to slide it; now to adjust the volume and brightness, I tap it again and again to change it. How do I get it back into sliding? What happened? Thanks. Hope you can help.

I'm trying to do the tap and slide on my touchbar (quickly adjust) but for example when i tap the brightness icon it doesn't allow me to just slide to increase/decrease the brightness, I have to hold the finger over the brightness icon, the touch bar is magnified onto the screen and then I have to wait for a circle to load then i can adjust the brightness.
How do I change it to do it quickly like in the video?

My problems with the touch bar:
1. 0:21 this method doesn't work with executable apps that isn't directly in the application folder, like Minecraft. These apps are changed by using Terminal, which not every user knows how.
2. Touch ID is not available to use at launch, everytime I turn on my Mac I need to type in the password. Unlike iOS devices Macs are usually off after using so this eliminates the purpose of Touch ID on MacBook Pros. I want it to work like Windows Hello. Unfortunately there isn't a way to force Touch ID to be on at launch.
This video sold the touch bar to me far more than Apple did in their release conference. Still wont buy one though lol.

05:30 Hi Jeff, i am using a MacBook Pro 2017 with Google Chrome (latest Version 60.0.3112.101). While I'm playing videos on CZcams, the media scrubber bar does not appear on my touch bar. It only appears when I'm using Safari while on CZcams. Do you have any clue?
I wish they could add another line for the touchbar instead of replacing the function keys. That way they could add the dock icons to the touch bar and many more advance options.
@9to5MAC I just picked up the MacBook Pro today from Best Buy. On the touchpad I do not have the option of sliding brightness or the volume. I have to keep pressing for the volume or brightness to increase or decrease, it does NOT slide. How do I get it to slide?

Friend, I configured something on my touchbar and I can't undo it. Now it doesn't slide as it used to when changing the volume, for example. I need to hold my finger still for a few seconds to activate the slide function. Do you know how I undo this configuration to go back to working as before?

With Parallels or Bootcamp can you also have the Function keys to be always displayed on the Touch Bar when they’re open?
When you open Safari the touch bar gives you options to choose from your "favorites" mine has apple, bing, Google, and yahoo, is there any way for me to customize this? If so, How?
Also when I use google chrome to browse these awesome shortcuts on the touch bar when using safari don't appear. instead a place to select URL search pops up. Is there any way to have the shortcuts that are available on the touch bar when using safari to be displayed when using google chrome?

I have a problem. the touchbar seems to go to sleep pretty quickly, and I want to elongate the period of time it takes to go to sleep. I know you can change the time with the screen but I can't seem to find the option to increase the amount of time before the touchbar dims. does anyone know how to solve this problem? thanks.

How do I get the basic Touch Bar display to come back on while on my MacBook. (Brightness, play, forward, backward) I’m in Lightroom and the basic adjustments aren’t there for me to brighten my screen or pause/play my music while working on photos.
