- Lies of P came out of absolutely nowhere, for me and for a lot of other people. It is a truly incredible game, but why? Let’s talk about it.

Who was your favorite boss in Lies of P? Who was your least favorite? Thanks so much for watching!
Bonus: what records did I use in this video?
Laxasia was my favorite boss , since she was the first one who made me rethink my build . and the least has to be manus , just a big shit that spams aoe moves .
@@andrei-cezarbleaje5519 solid picks. I love Laxasia as well, she’s one of the couple I have the most trouble with still, but she’s quite a fun fight. Inversely, I actually really enjoy the Manus fight. My only gripe with him is that he is sort of weak health wise, so all of my playthrough I’ve beat him so fast that I don’t really get a chance to savor the fight. I haven’t fought him since they buffed him fairly recently, so maybe that’ll change now.
geez man,i beat him for half an hour.but it only took me ten minutes to defeat Simon. She’s a respectable boss.
my favorite boss is the nameless puppet. First phase is easy if you can parry but 2nd phase really challenges your parries and reaction time. least favorite is probably the second black rabbit brotherhood fight. The status affects are god awful and the fact that the eldest return and can gank you with the last one is so annoying.
You at least put Fascination in your vid. That makes this vid an A+ already.
I hate gank boss fights, so both Brotherhood fights are two of my least favorite. That said, however, the fights are manageable. Not hard to figure out what to do to break down.
Now that I think of it, Simon Manus is the one I hate more.
FUN FACT :
it's called P Organ bcuz the studio is Korean, in Korean P means blood, Blood Organ = heart ❤️
😊👍
Thanks for the insight stranger, much appreciated.
@@CNRMRY_YT "thanks for the insight stranger🤓☝"
Russian localisation also has it named as "P-Heart"
@@user-yj8gh5en6g PHART LMAOOOOO
@@CNRMRY_YT Which means the title of the game is a double entendre, Lies of Blood. Familial betrayal, the shear amount of bloodshed to gather all that ergo based on the lie of a "city of the future". It fits, and is quite smart.
This peculiar kind of attention to detail always gives off the impression the developers are true fans of this subgenre, and enjoyed the process through and through. End result is a game with a lot of heart and soul.
Lies of P is a masterpiece. Genuinely on par with FromSoftware.
Agreed!!!!
never, do you ever play sekiro or elden ring? lies of p has alot bugs, some bosses are not even finished...
@@denverm7909 What bosses aren't finished? I don't understand what that even means. And yes, I've platinumed all the Souls games, including Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Bloodborne. Lies of P definitely stands up.
@@denverm7909 Eldenring can be an absolute bugfest too, even the enemies doesnt follow up as they should
@@thrxshx Fromsoftware drones always come up with the same response lmao They can't fathom an objectively well made game with 10 times the less annoyance being better than the games they mindlessly eat up
is it just me or is this game getting more love all of a sudden? maybe its the elden ring dlc trailer but ive been hearing more people talk about it, deserved tbh
I was planning this video for a while, but I definitely feel like a lot of LoP content showed up out of nowhere.
Everyone is finally finishing their essay on the game lol
Great game
Elden ring was catered to young kids/ teens. It was incredibly easy, and it’s wildly considered to be the worst “souls” game. Terrible weapons that are just re skins, and nobody I repeat nobody ever asked for an open world souls game. Dark souls 3 is infinitely better then ER
@@MMikethehiker i mean to each there own, and its certainly not my favorite game personally or anything but its a little crazy to call Elden ring the worst souls game lmao, its functionally just a fantastically made game in general and probably one of the best of the decade? like that feels like hyperbole
MORE LIKE LIES OF PEAK
True!
**Your lips are preaching**
Game took me 47 hours it took me literally 8 hours to beat Nameless puppet
One thing I liked about this game was how it told its story through cutscenes and not item descriptions it made me actually get attached to the characters. This is something I do not do when playing a regular souls game as the characters there I do not feel attached too
Exactly! I felt like an active participant with emotional involvement, not a third person picking up pieces of someone else's story...
@@CC-jh4kd I also liked how P started to develop a bit of a personality throughout the game and the seeing him cry in the rise of p ending was emotional
@@CC-jh4kd thats kinda the point of souls lore, u are a no-name warrior thats walking through a post apocalypse that start literally eons before ur kind even existed. it isnt someone else's story, its literally the story of entire kingdoms spanning eons, theres a reason why souls lore channels have more views than well established lore series like fallout and elder scrolls, and it isnt just becuz of how hard it is to uncover the layers of mystery of elden souls lore.
frankly lies of Ps story isnt good enough for me to get emotionally involved in, cutscenes doesnt intantly equal to "good" story telling.
@@flamingmanure you don't get it. What you feel about lies of P is exactly what I feel about the other soulsgames you like. I don't feel involved and they bore me. Low-key doesn't mean it's good. Your arguments against is exactly the same as I'm saying.
I could easily say it's convoluted, and detached. You might be into that, but I'm not. That's okay. Grand lores doesn't necessarily mean "good".
I do absolutely love this game (enough to have decided to 100% it) but I'd argue there is very much a "That Part" in Lies of P with the cathedral in Chapter 4. That Carcass throwing slop at while I was tiptoeing along the beams caused me more grief than any boss ever did.
That's fine, to each their own. I understand why a lot of people don't like that level at all, but I do. I think its visually interesting and has a really sinister tone that is especially unique to the area, and I enjoy how vertical it is as well as it's various shortcuts. The closest thing to a "that part" for me would be the swamp, but on subsequent playthroughs I'm not really dreading it.
For me it is the upper part of the Abbey, where you encounter the big guys with canes and twirling mustaches... I just ran past everyone there
I kept telling myself "Nothing can be worse than Blighttown" so I pushed through while being tortured lmao
Oh that’s my favorite part!
I used upgraded puppet string in my second run and it felt significantly cooler. Although for me “that area” would be the tower. It felt way too long.
Best souls-like for me. I love the linear style. The combat. The weapons. The bosses. The aesthetics. Everything! It feels like a game made for me. Still playing it today for the 3rd time and already planning my next run.
It's definitely special! Thanks for the comment :)
I'll always have a soft spot for dark souls 3 as it was my first fromsoft game. Other than a couple of the Armored Core games on ps1 and ps2. But Lies of P was amazing and I couldn't put it down. My only mild criticism of it would be that I wish there were more hidden areas in the game. Similar to something like Cainhurst castle in Bloodborne. Nonetheless, I'll be more than happy to give them some money for whatever it is they do next.
Also, co-op of sorts would have been nice.
I agree, it could've used some hefty side dungeons in there. While I enjoy the game's linearity, I also like the feeling of getting lost, something that I wish was around more in Lies of P. Hopefully, the DLC will be a bit more open. Even if it isn't, I'm sure it'll be great.
Can't stress enough how EVERYTHING about this game is FANTASTIC! You could tell a fan of Dark Souls this game was made by FromSoftware and they would believe it 100%, by that alone you could tell how great the game is, but my mind was really blown when you get to know every single reference in the lore from the original story of Pinocchio, it is AUSTONISHING how much they paid homage to the original work.
I'm gonna repeat myself but everything about this game is incredible! I'm glad they sold over a million copies. I'm excited for the DLC and the next games this company will make. And as Palpatine once said: We will watch your career with great interest.
I love it. My best personal game of 2023 that I only got around to playing last week.
For me it’s between Alan Wake 2 and this, I’ve had a hard time choosing for months now. Both absolutely incredible games though.
@@CNRMRY_YT AW2 is on my list. I’ll get to it eventually 😆
Lies of P is one of the most underrated games ever, amazing story, atmosphere, characters, combat and the game is simple unlike Lords of the Fallen where you can easly get lost and miss many details, i have only 4 hours and really love this game
I just got to the Arcade section right after the opera house. As a huge Bloodborne fan, Lies of P is almost literally a spiritual successor to Bloodborne. I'm surprised you didn't make more comparisons of the 2 but I appreciate your vid. Good coverage of an awesome and well done game.
Bloodborne has it's own video on my channel, I honestly have no interest in comparing them. They're both great games, and while LoP does in some ways feel like a spiritual successor, I think it would be a bad idea to tell people it's a lot like it. Especially considering how die-hard some FromSoft fans are.
It boggles my mind that people dislike this game for various reasons. (Mostly game play) this is so good.
Yup! Doesn't make a lot of sense.
because they are trash at it
This gave me the Rise of P ending.
You can trigger the stun not only with charge heavy but also with feble arts and legion arm arts .
Yup, that’s one of the things I forgot to mention
And best thing that you can do this even before the white glow just by predicting that enemy will be stunned this very moment or just by simple luck.
Or use big ball throw
Lies of P helped me get through a tough time, it might have a couple of flaws but I would consider it a masterpiece, up there with Elden Ring, Dark Souls and Super Mario Bros 2 in my books.
I think the title of this video more or less communicates exactly how I feel about this game. It's really sad how many people skipped this one because they assumed it'd just be another uninspired souls-like, and honestly, even I wasn't expecting much when I started playing, but I ended up falling deeply in love with it for its story, music, art direction and its surprisingly deep combat.
This game was overshadowed in 2023. It deserved recognition
Simply one fo the best games I played that year. Sad to see alot of CZcamsrs or streamers write it off because they couldn't appreciate it.
It’s unfortunately a bit too difficult for some people I think. From talking to a lot of people about it, it seems like it often gets dropped well before the finish, which is really a shame. While the whole game is good, the last area (last like 3-4 bosses) really bring the whole experience together.
I loved it so much I have finished through ng+3. It's just a great game in general. The story, music, combat, all so much fun
I was blown away by how good this game was. Just beat nameless puppet last night and my jaw was on the floor on my entire experience with this game. So good
I love from soft games but this game is my favourite so far, thanks for showing how great it is!
Bro, you did my boy DS2 dirty with that intro. On the context of what you were saying I understand why you skipped it but it hurts my lil' ol' heart.
Also, the editing on this video is beautiful.
Holy shit, this lunatic actually beat NP with the Frozen Feast. Mad respect.
Yeah it was kind of a nightmare. I didn't record my first NG cause I wasn't planning on making a video on LoP, but then I loved it so much that I decided to. Most of the footage in this video was a second NG where I where I decided to use the heaviest weapons I could get my hands on, and that was the Frozen Feast of course lmao.
Im doing a level zero run and just thinking of going back to my strength roots scare me.
@@pandaell1029I did a motivity build on my first play through. Is the dex route really that much better?
@@mobilemetal4554 well depends for a normal run you have some hits you can take and you can use different talismans but in level zero you can't carry most weapons and talismans. Also you can't get hit because everything one taps
One day, the masses will understand the greatness of Lies of P… I hope NeoWiz keeps cooking
Someday? Bruh, game sold insanely well
DLC soon!
Very True! I was like trying this game half heartedly just to check it out then it change when I got the first track record named "Feel" damn that eargasm. I started to love it and played 3 playthroughs.
Korean devs are on the rise they are new kids on the block in the console market and already showing a lot of promise! Excited to see what these studios and many more to come bring to the table.
I love this game to dwath, but wish they'd focused more on making unique and bizarre puppet enemies
I expect they'll do something of the sort in DLC
You can roll through fury attacks btw, with the amulet from the first boss merging with the puppet halfway as you mentioned in your video. very smart to pick if you want it a little easier and like other fromsoftware games.
Love this video! It’s odd to me that you talk about Sekiro having more generous parry timing because I literally cannot get that timing down at all, meanwhile I have no issue with the timing in Lies of P - it just instantly made sense to me.
I believe there are literally more frames to parry in Sekiro, the difference is in the timing itself. I saw a visual model someone made on Reddit (I think) while I was working on this video, and it really helped me not only understand but actually get better at Sekiro. Whereas LoPs timing is a lot closer to when the attack lands, Sekiro’s is actually a few frames before the attack. If I can find it I’ll come back and link it.
Found it very fast, here you go.
www.reddit.com/r/LiesOfP/s/9VqcabA26I
It’s not exact, but it does help visualize what I meant a little better. Probably could’ve included in the video!
This was the first Soulslike game I've ever had interest in playing, I've tried Demon Souls and Dark Souls but this is the one that I've actually wanted to complete. Actual Masterpiece.
Also, favourite boss? Romeo, the King of Puppets. Especially during the second playthrough where we finally hear everything the Puppet5s are saying, heartbreaking in the best way.
It was the third Soulslike I played after ER and Sekiro and I was genuinely happy that it was a linear experience without the need to google how to reach certain locations or walking around aimlessly whondering what to do.
Now, 1 year later, as a veteran who played through every big soulslike I have to say that I enjoy the exploration part which makes replaying Lies of P less fun, since you know everything already, there are no optional areas or bosses you could miss like there are in all fromsofttitles and hollow knight and even another crabs treasure, which is also a banger in my opinion.
I'm only halfway through this game, and the depth of it is what kills me. There's so much, there's just so much in every inch of this game that you have to take a breather and look. Sure, you can walk through the game and just fight stuff, but if you put even an ounce of emotional investment into this game, it will crush you.
I do agree with you, good sir. We did not deserve this game.
Favorite boss, the king. By a long shot.
As far as comparing to souls games, this is the first one to put me back in my place and actually take seriously. Yes, the other games are fun, and sure, the bosses and enemies curbstomp you. However, this is the first one to have so much deliberate detail on it that you have to sit down and comb through it. Rushing, even if you win, does not mean you succeed.
i just finished it yesterday and it was honestly i masterpiece
it took me a week to finish it but man it was awesome
Idk how it's underappreciated when everyone loved it
The OST of this game on top of all the praise this game deserves just cannot be overstated. Some of the best music in this medium
i agree
You should do a colony sim game review - Rimworld, Kingdoms and Castles, Oxygen not Included, all that jawn
I probably will at some point… idk if this counts but I love factorio. I need to play more of them!
Rimworlds Medieval Overhaul is a pretty awesome one to try out
Lies of P is a top 3 souls style game for me. Dark Souls 1 for nostalgia, Bloodborne for being close to perfection and then Lies Of P absolutely blowing my mind. Story, vibes, combat… creative meanness in game design lol an absolute masterpiece and I agree it is under appreciated
TRUE words , UNDERAPPRICIATED.. one of the best soulslike and one of the best storytelling in games out there...
As a professional animator, yeah I can confirm, Lies of P is top notch, almost everything is really well polished!
The King of Puppet was a pretty good example of how Lies of P is trying to communicate that not everything can be solved by perfect guarding or dodging. The first phase has incredibly telegraphed attacks, which encourages you to perfect block them, while dodging is kept at a minimum due to the bosses incredibly long sweeping attacks. However, following the second phase, a completely new moveset is brought, the attacks are more aggressive and the boss actively punishes overly defensive behavior by doing a pull attack. This ultimately encourages you to dodge most of the attacks in the second phase, and you realize that by dodging, you have a lot more windows to attack than if you had attempted to perfect dodge (and ultimately lose a portion of your health because of how insanely tight those block windows of the second phase can be).
good point, i very often found myself not knowing wether i should dodge or block a boss
thx for the passion
I'm a little baby and I like my games quite linear and clear about what to do. So Lies of P is the perfect souls-like game for me.
great video :)
fave boss gotta be King of Puppets :)
Good choice
Great video! My favorite boss is Laxasia and my least favorite is either the Door Guardian or the second Black Rabbit Brotherhood fight.
I have played it for over 300 hours, and I'm still playing it. I've beaten bosses without taking damage, in under a minute, and I've gotten all the acheviments. I think this is worth your time
I absolutely loved Lies of P. Great video man!
Rn, i have started bloodborne, and god, i just love that game a lot . I recently stsrted it, and i beat micolash today . Lies of P seem to have the same kind of aesthetic. So is it worth to get it?
Yes! Bloodborne and Sekiro are very close in terms of my personal favorite, and Lies of P almost feels like a fusion between the two. It might be a bit tough, but you’ll find something to love for sure! Finish Bloodborne first though, amazing game.
This video is exceptionally well made.
Well thank you!
Great video mate
Thanks!
I have to admit, this game really grew on me, mechanically and story-wise. That studio really managed to crack the FromSoft formula.
The music in this game alone makes it better than a lot of games I’ve played
This game is amazing. I have only platinum a handful of games this is one of them. The story/atmosphere and the music truly a masterpiece. I can listen to feel ok repeat
after lies of p, i started nioh 2 to scratch that itch
Still haven't played the Nioh's. I plan on getting to them eventually, they just look a bit messy to me lol.
@cnrmry_yt can't tell about Nioh 2 but I have played both Nioh and Wo Long and ai must say that their level design really sucks. It almost looks like a bunch of asset store assets randomly combined to make a branching level.
Especially in Wo Long, the assets themselves look realistic. But the way they are assbled, I cannot put my finger on it but something about it makes the graphics feel dated.
Also, their gameplay, despite having depth, feel a bit janky (probably animation issue).
Favourite boss fight was Walker of Illusions, a beautiful parry dance that was so rewarding when you won, also loved the nameless puppet another great fight. for whatever reason, I had the most problems with the puppet king but nothing too off putting. What a game, probably the best unknown game I've played. The start was very clunky but as the game opened up so did the combat options. I cant wait to see what they do next. Instant purchase from me.
I didn’t love walker my first time through, but on subsequent playthroughs I ended up really liking her.
it was the first boss i took down without a specter because that was not allowed. i rarely learned how to manage a boss fight in many souls and souls-like games because i got myself online support. here it wasnt possible but i wanted to continue the game. yes, it was really a nice fight and i am proud that i sticked to it. i dream of playing Sekiro one time but I dont know if I will have the nerve.
This game didn't work for me but I am very glad it exists; I think it will inspire others to make something that will work for me :D
amazing video, amazing game, also you should try ds1
Love lies of p beat it now on second play through I got board of elden ring after 300 plus hours can’t wait for the dlc for both games
Lies of p was the only souls game where I was actually about to get good at and beat half the game whereas other souls games I wasn't able to
I enjoy watching your video.. and to well made
I got the platinum for this game and I'm just now realizing the White Lady is standing above the stage smh
I love the video so much, i started playing LoP sometime last week or 2, so the timing is great. I LOVE THE TURNTABLE. This is kinda like a better version of the Bloodborne video. it's great.
Thanks Nicholas 😉
Favorite was eldest brother since he forced me to learn to parry rather than just roll/dodge every move. Least favorite was Fuocco, the fight was very underwhelming but it had a cool design at least.
Fuocco's down there for me as well. He's not bad, just a bit lacking as far as I'm considered (especially following the Watchman). I HATED rabbits my first time through, but every time after the first was pretty easy and I came to appreciate them.
@@CNRMRY_YT Rabbits took me over 30 tries just because I was set on not using summons. But man was the rematch a cakewalk when the time came for it lol
@@VacantFell agreed. Rabbits 1 was my 2nd longest boss run but the rematch was comically easy.
Great video. This is my first souls like and is getting me into fromsoft’s stuff. Still need to beat Lies but got DS1 DS3 and Elden Ring in my library ready to go!
The last like 3 bosses are some of the best in the game… enjoy it while it lasts!
if you enjoyed this, then go with Sekiro, since a lot of stuff from there serves as inspiration for Lies of P, like the parry system and the arms.
@@DravenxEyeless Sekiro is def on my list! Will not miss it
@@Gorgeman5 Just wanted to give a heads up, I’m a long time Souls fan. Played & beat every single one.. except for Sekiro. It is a lot harder imo than all the rest lol
@@NoCloutJoeymaybe, but with the summons and other mechanics the game gives you, you can make it easy .
Lies of P is really good and so is your video. Fantastic video.
First I didnt like the concept of fighting puppets. Then some reviews said the game is too hard. Then I watched Asmongold play it and i felt some kinda love for this game. Then I read that you can have a specter for the bossfights and I bought the game and it is really so beautiful. Nice small levels, interesting surroundings, especially the world fair vibe is something mindblowing when you are curious about what knowledge and achievements have been in this world already 100 years ago.
If you want to play or already are playing and the difficulty is somethiing you're worried about. Just gather some ergo and buy a lot of throwables. You can get them from the merchant in the red lobster building, travel to that stargazer and it's literally right inside the building and up the ladder. The throwables make the game waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier. If you mainly want to enjoy the atmosphere and story then there's no big deal using that method.
I absolutely love this game. I'm so enamored with this world and the lore it's unbelievable! My favorite boss is hard to choose but my LEAST favorite is a mini boss: walker of illusion. The first game it took me 30 tries to get past her. It the small room lol.
Romeo is one of the best bosses I've ever faced and Laxasia is worthy of being considered alongside Fromsoft's dex queens like Malenia, Maria and Friede
Your next video should be a deep 30 minute analysis about the worldbuilding and story in PacMan
Is that a challenge
Also have you commented this before lmfao
Looks interesting. So far i have only played trough ER, Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro (relatively new souls gamer still) . Sekiro being my favourite. I wonder if Lies of P is for me
This game is amazing! It simply oozes love from the developers!
The Pinocchio references are spot on, though more the 19th century books, not the Disney movie.
Combat didnt click with me, until the last boss.
After that, decided to get the platinum.
Lies of P was my first souls-like. I dont even remember what made me play it, but i don't regret a single second of it. I hope elden ring doesn't disappoint me after this masterpiece
Great video! I would like you to look at Dishonored series, one of my favourite games :)
I’ve actually played and LOVED the dishonored games, and I’m a big fan of Prey (2017) as well. Perhaps I’ll make a video on them in the future.
@@CNRMRY_YT Glad to hear that :)) I would love to watch those videos if you decided to make them.
Lies Of P is my favorite Souls game besides Elden Ring, it really is that good. Beat it about 5x, now I’m just patiently waiting for the DLC.
Genuinely a masterpiece that improved on certain aspects of the souls series which include Story telling & weapon customization.
The game is damn near perfect & it’s the studio’s first souls like; This is what you get when the studio is managed & ran by gamers who play the games they make.
Hmmm, I can only speak for myself and the consensus of high reviews but...
Lies of P was most certainly appreciated!
Still waiting for that special dlc the developer's promised and the announcement of the sequel they promised to

Thanks for a great and detailed appraisal for a game that will go down in history as the most overlooked title of 2023, not a single award nomination in any category, which perhaps highlights the hollowness of awards in general and that the industry just can't handle a maiden voyage project that far exceeds expectation and raises the bar for the entire game genre.
The only element I would add, although I understand you had to avoid this in order to avoid spoilers, is the emotional experience the game gifts the interested player, for example, being able to cuddle Spring the cat felt like you'd finally conquered an invisible boss, as well as several other touching moments of npc interaction, the broken puppet in the Swamp chapter springs to mind, havens of humanity amidst the violent chaos.
I am glad you avoided any reference to Lies of P being just a "Bloodborne 2" a ridiculous criticism and churlish comparison that seemed to flood social media after the demo dropped. For one, the era of lies of P, which you do point out, is historically at least a century after the Yharnam's more mythical presence. Aesthetically different in every way, unless a few darkened cobbled streets are enough to justify the "copying" comparisons, which of course they aren't.
Having played and corresponded with others concerning every Souls game including Sekiro and Bloodborne over the years, there does appear to be an unjustified elitism among players who basically feel that if it's not FromSoftware, then it must be crap, or within the context of Lies of P, I read so much "hate" purely because of the more challenging play style, requiring more than dodge, hit dodge... or a tanky set of armour or spamming spells at a distance and to me it's clear Round 8 probably sat down at some point early in development and said "So, how do we make combat in Souls games less pedestrian and side quests less unnecessarily over convoluted ?"
My favourite boss was Laxasia as she took me the longest to read and actually take control of the fight when doing a no Spectre NG+ run. I don't really have a least favourite, although Manus felt tame positioned between what came before and what awaited us thereafter.
Was a nice vid. Ty 😸
Thanks for the comment!
Waiting for it to go on sale again planning on doing the platinum when I get it 🙏

I still believe the parry timing needs to be a tad more generous, trying to use the parry weapon arts is a pain
Funny/ironically enough ppl were bitching about Sekiro because of the same thing when it came out, ppl were trying to play it like a Dark Souls game instead of playing like Sekiro...
Lies of P is a love letter to real souls fans that wanted something new but familiar, to be honest Lies of P was the first souls game I decided to Platinum due to how good and addictive it was, then I continued with Sekiro and the rest of the DS games.
lies of P is my game of the year
Tried it a couple times and it hasnt been sticking with me but i do plan to try it more. Im not sure if its just my mood or not.
How far in did you get? The first hour or so is a bit slow.
@cnrmry_yt no further than that, im gonna try it again at some point. I actually did the same with sekiro, couldnt get into for years and im currently playing it and liking it.
@@anthonyrizzo9043 good call! Sekiro took me a few tries as well, but I ended up loving it. Same with DS3. Idk if you got to the scrapped watchman (first real boss, not super far in) but from him on the game really picks up.

Little to no accolades? Did you notice in the Bless description in was published by Bandai? The same publisher for From Soft haha, years before they broke their working partnership, Round8 was, and is, a subsidiary of Neowiz….a massively successful corporation lol. So yes, they broke their teeth on Bless while communicating and working with Bandai Namco. While being funded massively…being developed by 20 people with infinite resources and call to materials no other studio would have is, well, nothing special. The only thing that makes it the sad specialty it is is the fact that we live in a corporate society, even in the video game world, so devs getting say in their vision is often rare. I’m so glad it exists, but it’s a flawed masterpiece AAA game. To call it anywhere near indie is just playing into their “indie-AAA” marketing Bandai is good for.
100% Agreed!
This game sold 1 mil in the first month for a game from completely unknown studio. It's well appreciated. Tf are you on about?
new game ++ done ... love this game
peak!
Quick question.. im wanting to buy this, however.. ive never played Sekiro, i returned Elden Ring because it was stupid hard and i didnt like DS because there's no clear Story or reason to it.. but i love games like Forbidden West, Bioshock and Witcher3, but not too easy.. Thanks
I never played any souls games before, not a fan of the genre, but I tried Lies of P because it looks so cool like that’s literally the reason. Now I’m invested with the combat mechanics and will definitely consider trying games like Elden Ring or Sekiro next.
Dark Souls 3 & Bloodborne are a lot closer to Lies of P than all of the rest imo I suggest those first!
Like Joey said, Bloodborne is probably the closest to LoP. Sekiro is my favorite FromSoft so I'll always recommend that, but Bloodborne is a very close second. DS3 is also great, but suffers from a pretty weak first half in my opinion.
@@NoCloutJoey bloodborne sounds good too, thanks I’ll consider that on my list next
Damn, had I seen this yesterday, I’d probably have bought this but I went with Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Both look great~
I’m not all that familiar with this. I know a bit about the series, but what type of game is Relink?
@@CNRMRY_YT I’ve never dabbled in the series either, generally ppl say story isn’t captivating (at first), but got better. The hook is the combat, should check out the combat system. It has a lot to offer and I’m really impressed with how good it feels. I’m partial to the art design so that’s on you if you’re not into bright colors and anime art. So many characters to unlock, play styles to try, leveling to grind and apparently the story is like a basic part of the game and the end-game stuff is more interesting. I only watched two vids and played for an hour though, so…don’t take my take too seriously lol
They can start by fixing the pc A S W D movement on keyboard for the arrow key so thousands of people more can buy/play their game.
i just finished all bosses on sekiro and playing it for the first time. im addicted to soul games rn so i lowkey want to buy lies of p
I still haven't fully mastered the perfect block, but I still managed to complete the game four times. For all of its difficulty, it does give you additional tools to help get through the tougher parts of the game. And I agree, playing a Soulslike with a linear design is a breath of fresh air after playing something as huge as Elden Ring.
As far as I'm concerned, Lies of P deserved more love, as the game itself is clearly made with alot of heart put into it. Neowiz made a game that matches a Soulsborne game and, as far as I'm concerned, is better than many AAA games out there now.
Agree with everything you said, I cold have written this haha😂
I never in my life played a new modern game and then went back to play the developers older titles. I played most games when they were in their prime. I finshed Elden Ring this year and immediately bought DS3 and finished that too. I am now a full soulsborne fan and bought Lies of P yesterday. Very good game
I find it better than all fromsoft games and I really love those. I think it's perfect and it's now my favourite game. 12/10
I think it’s at LEAST as good as Sekiro, which is my favorite
Im gonna say that Lies of P did something that Elden Ring lacks. Boss Fights are actually enjoyable.
EDIT: I think the developers didn't consider the difficulty of Elden Ring carefully enough; it feels like they took shortcuts to make it challenging. Many bosses rely on repetitive, overly fast attacks that often leave little room for effective dodging. In contrast, other Souls-like games offer more manageable enemy behaviors and attack patterns that allow for strategic anticipation and response.
Shhhhhhh. They might hear you.
Some are definitely more distinct and memorable.
Bruh, why do you say they aren’t enjoyable?
@@CNRMRY_YTlol
Very personal opinion of yours, I’ll never forget Marget, radahn, melania or any of the super cool dragons
