Aardman: There's no market for Pirate films!
*goes and makes Pirates: Band of Misfits*
over the hedge:

Shrek the Third:
He’s in for the Royal Treatment
R.I.P Peter Sallis (1921-2017)
😓😓😓😓😭😭😭😭😭
Peter sallis is still alive you idiot!
@@rudymalone1 no he's not he died on 2nd June 2017
@@channelwarrior861 I say he is still alive according to directtv you Knucklehead! So don't believe anything you see, read,or hear!
@@rudymalone1 he is dead search it up. And plus the reason why you think Peter Sallis is alive is because there is actually a different actor but he just sounds like Peter Sallis
I love Over The Hedge and Flushed Away. I don't know why OTH is such an underrated CGI Dreamworks movie. It deserves some more recognition. :)
Tell me about it dude
For real
I remember when I was around 7 I went to see shrek the third with my friend and the entire time the packed theater was silent .
shrek three must of been one unfunny movie then
Lonely GoombasMother you bet it was

R.I.P Gene Wilder (1933-2016)
Woe is me! I sure miss gene wilder!😭😭😭😭
@@rudymalone1 Don’t worry. He still lives on through repeated viewings of his films.
7:16 Flushed Away would've been very interesting to watch if Kevin (Kline) signed up for le Frog. But I think his French Kiss and Pink Panther co-star Jean Reno was brilliant.
10:03 "It got the record for the highest grossing opening weekend" Yeah, but then came Finding Dory 9 years later.
$121 million: Shrek the Third
$135 million: Finding Dory
5:54 I think THATS how Peter Lord got the idea to make an adaptation of pirates band of misfits.
Gene Wilder likely refused to do the film because he knew Dreamworks liked to sneak in adult jokes. He also may have viewed voice acting in the same way as Robin Williams when he played the Genie.
The reason I suggest this is because I've heard the reason he did fewer films as he got older was due to the fact that he disagreed with adult content or cursing.
Such a shame. He would have done good voice work in animated films when he was alive. If he provided a voice in an animated film, I’d watch it for his performance.
@@hunterolaughlin I fully agree that he would have been a perfect voice actor, but I also respect his decision to keep things family-friendly.
A man-hour is probably just an hour.
Without even Getting Sleep, Food, AND a Drink.
“There’s no market for pirate films” weird how later aardman made “The Pirates: Band of Misfits”
Jim Carrey also turned down the role of Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story. Thank GOD! Not that Jim Carrey's bad; he's just too over-the-top. Tim Allen plays the character more naturally.
Oh flushed away, over the hedge and shrek the third ......memories :.)
I still watch all the Wallace and Gromit films.. :)
Programmed Persona cool!
Seriously, what are the problems about Shrek The Third back then anyway? 'cause like I said long time ago, Shrek The Third was one the first films I watch in theaters when I was a kid, so here I am
I think it was because it just wasn't as funny as the last two. I watched it as a kid too.
+Demon Rantz same, watched in theatres when I was 4.
Demon Rantz how old were you with Shrek The Third?
Am i only one that loves flushed away. It's my childhood movie
che guevara nope. I love it too!
I used to hated, but I started to (kinda) enjoyed
You’re not alone on that! I love it too! It’s actually not only my favourite animated film of the year but it’s also my favourite movie of 2006 along with Charlotte’s Web
8:04 Come on Animat, you made it this far so there’s no turning back now. 8:05 Just do it!!!!!
Over the hedge is one of my favorite movies, it never gets old and the humor, tone and pace is perfect. There are funnier movies, and better quality movies but over hedge has character.
Gene Wilder went into (semi-)retirement) around 2003. So he probably turned down the role because he wasn't interested. Would've been nice to see him in Over The Hedge tho.
Gene Wilder actually is planning to return to acting, but as long as the movie isn't all about swearing, shooting and 3-D. It would be great to see him again on the big screen!
Angela Corner, yeah about that. So sad that Gene has left us.
If only Andrew Adamson worked on Shrek the Third.
Eli Copperman if only Jeffrey Katzenberg doesn't make Microsoft buying Rare
If only Cars 2 didn't exist...
+Kukki_Kat if ice age 5 didn't happen.
If only Microsoft didn't buy out Rareware from Nintendo.
If Only Frozen 2 Gets Cancelled So Gigantic Can Take It's Release Date (Yeah, Wreck-It Ralph 2 Is Fine, I Just Don't Want Another Frozen And Have Gigantic's Release Date So Far Away)
Fun fact: the female possum in Over the Hedge was voiced by Avril Lavigne.
Deer Yeah.
Deer Why was your comment deleted?
Deer It says it was spam but clearly it wasn't.
Troll Breaker And here’s something else about that girl opossum
Her name is Heather and she is Ozzie’s teenage daughter
I LOVED the first two Shrek films, didn't like the third much at all, but the 4th redeemed it somewhat.
wallace and gromit the curse of the were rabbit was a great movie! the wallace and gromit shorts are great as well!
I remember playing an over the hedge game at a "kids club" at my mom's work
I loved that thing
I agree with you with Shrek 3.
I just saw flushed away when I
went to a haircut
I like shrek the third , over the hedge and flushed away
me too!
I enjoyed Flushed Away & Over the Hedge even Madagascar.
The movie about pirates then turned into pirates: Band of Misfits with Columbia pictures distributing the movie.
I think that was 2012,and this was made in 2010.
"in 200- oh no. do i have to do this" for a second there i thought that you were gonna talk about 9-11.
HE AINT GONNA SAY THAT, THAT'S SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!
Wallace and Gromit. My family really loved this movie. I'm so glad they didn't replace Wallace's actor.
Over the Hedge. I have a fountain in my neighborhood and it's in a lake.
Flushed away. It's impossible to control water, but didn't Rakin Bass just use stop motion for water.
Shrek the third. Why Dreamworks? Why?
Personally, Shrek the Third is one of my guilty pleasures like Cars 2, The Master Of Disguise, The Benchwarmers etc.
Cars 2 is the only movie I like from that bunch.
Wallace and Gromit are AWESOME!!! The movie really did deserve the award and i'm glad it won
God I love Wallace and Gromit! Though it seems like it's getting darker and darker. Has anyone else seen A Matter of Loaf and Death?
Great review! Shrek the Third was alright, but I liked Shrek 4 way better.
dreamworks got the Oscar in 2006 for Wallace and garment as hasn't gained a Oscar since this movie as forgot to mention why their later films were released under paramount label till 2013, than made deal with fox as Comcast now bought the studio as last non universal released film will be captain underpants!
Gromit*
Unlike Shrek, Wallace and Gromit did deserved to win that Oscar!
Fun Fact: I REALLY wanted to see "Wallace and Gromit:The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" while it was in theaters, opening day no less. When I saw the film, i was in Arkansas to evacuate from hurricane rita and, when i did see the film, a majority of the town was at a football game and i saw the film alone,as in,the only person in the theater. So,technally, I had a private showing of "Curse of the wererabbit" and it still sticks with me as my all-time favorite stop-motion animated film.
Shrek the Third is my guilty pleasure
$5
@@wilmarieserranorodriguez4109shrek the third was awful.
1:00-1:06 I kinda like how the background music fits in like the Cracking Contraptions on CZcams was a bad thing and the rabbit is screaming the music.
That was funny when you almost said 'Disney Princesses' but then caught yourself. XD
Why would they think of replacing Peter Sallis? Next to Cleggy from "Last of the Summer Wine", Wallace is the character that everyone knows him by and he's been Wallace since 1989.
Stellan Skargard is Swedish and Kevin Kline and Johnny Depp are American. I don't think any of them would have sound authentic as Le Frog. Jean Reno, on the other hand is French just like the character Le Frog. So I think Jean Reno was the best choice for the character of Le Frog.
I can tell out of all the Dreamworks movies you hate Shrek the Third the most.
You are great at this dude.
Sorry for the comment the reproduction list in my phone put the comment in the wrong video
Both over the hedge and curse of the wererabbit are two of my favorite animated films
I Wish they settled on Bill Murray and Harold Ramis for Over The Hedge it would make it more funny I mean how awesome would it be if you got 2 of the original Ghostbusters in your movie
A fire broke out at the Aardman Studio during Were-Rabbits release.
ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: You Forgot That Over The Hedge Was Distributed By Paramount.
The Wallace & Gromit movie is so great. And it works as a stop-motion horror flick. This was Fantastic Mr Fox BEFORE Fantastic Mr Fox, which is something I failed to mention about Chicken Run in part 2.
Animat there's going to be a Dog Man movie made by DreamWorks I'm not kidding
When is it gonna be released?
I hate it when an established voice actors get shoved aside for a big name, a practice that sadly still occurs today.
@Hewylewis
Yeah, when I went to see it I got nervous when I found out that Shrek was going to disappear from existence. Of course I knew that it would end happily, but still that part of the film was intense.
The third one was great, I liked how they got rid of Prince Charming (after the second film I wondered what was going to happen to him) and how the villains switched sides. I also like Artie, he's a nice guy, and the Dronkeys were cute.
I wish Jim Carrey would do more animated films. I thought he was awesome in Horton Hears A Who!
He should still been the Bowler Hat Guy in Meet the Robinson. If there’s an animated character that’s basically tailored-made for Jim Carrey to perform, it’s the Bowler Hat Guy.
actually the only villainous thieves i see are the critters stealing people's belongings
Stuff in the animated trash foodfight, ratatoing, and shriek the third
In Memory of Peter Sallas. (1921-2017) Why on Earth would DreamWorks want to replace him with a younger actor? I think he did good in the film.
Wow, DreamWorks and Aardman's relation was sour during production of Flushed Away.
Besides the Flipnote Hatena on the DSi, Aardman also did a Shawn the Sheep 3D animation for the 3DS. They also did more animations on the new upcoming Flipnote Studio 3D, you can find the sample animations on the Nintendo eShop.

Over The Hedge came out only three weeks before Pixar's Cars.
You're not the only one.
What's the name of the music you used for the Wallace and Grommit part? It's fantastic! :)
Hey, wasn't Avril Lavigne in "Over The Hedge"?
Ralph will later go on to replace judi dench in the James Bond films
Shrek the Third is my favorite shrek film

Some of my fave BenFolds songs are in Over the Hedge.😆
While I agree that Shrek the Third was the weakest of the Shrek series, I don't consinder it a bad movie, I just not as good as neither of the first two Shrek movies (at the time I thought it was AS good as Shrek 1 but kind of changed my opinion on it after seeing it on DVD). Even if I like the basic story line, the adding of the princesses, that Prince Charming teams up with the villians to usurp the throne and becoming King of Far Far Away, Arthur Pendragon and Merlin being in the movie, Fiona were pregnant and thought Donkey and Puss accidently switched bodies with other, was really funny, it feels the story is lacking some things and didn't have the quite the feeling that Shrek 1 and 2 had. Shrek Forever after sort of redeemed of that Shrek the Third did but wasn't quite as good as Shrek 1, hoever it was better then The Third.
Also it suprised me that the movie was renamed from 3 to The Third just to not be confused with shrek 3-D. I thought all along that it was because it was to fit with the story of Shrek was going to be the King of Far Far Away while being the third movie at the same time, sort of pun (which Mat hates while I love puns, it's much better than Scrubs pointless insult humor or Family Guy's non-sense random humor).
Man hours are the number of workers multiplied by the number of hours it took.

Even though Andrew Adamson wasn't the director for shrek the third he was still part in the flims production which part is he well he is the producer
I'm pretty sure the Wallace & Gromit film's budget is lower than 56 million.
Makes you wonder how angry Aardman was at Dreamworks after Pirates of the Carribean came out.
Flushed Away's budget is less than 176 million.
A million man hours would have to be at least 30 years.
A manhour means an hour of work. They are letting you know that hours spent off the clock don't count. A scene being finished in 36 hours might mean its done in a day and a half. If it's 36 manhours working 6 hours a day means it takes six days instead.
Whats the song playing during the over the hedge part
My favourite Aardman animation film for Dreamworks is Wallace and Gromit the curse of the were rabbit
You say Gromit like my grandma. The movie is called "Wallice and Gromit The Curse of the Ware Rabbit" but she would alwayse refer to it as "That Grumit Movie." I find it interesting.
The were rabbit in w&g used to give me nightmares as a kid
I wish Jim Carrey would be in mire animated movie. Horton was AWESOME!!!!!
I had said in my comment about the Aardman Lookback that I have a major liking to Wallace and Gromit. This includes The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Although I truly prefer the short projects over the movie, I was willing to watch the movie multiple times. I guess my preference to the short projects allowed me to find some appreciation for the movie. Although one thing I actually like better about the movie is that it has more characters; not just Wallace and Gromit. Lady Tottington is worth showing sympathy for, Victor Quartermaine is a love-to-hate character, and the vicar has some funny moments here and there. I also saw Flushed Away, but I will have to say the story felt like it was dragging on.
I just recently saw Over the Hedge, and it turned out to be a better movie than I thought. Despite having child actors, my favorite character was actually the Steve Carrell-voiced squirrel Hammy. He was as cute as an adult could get, and he has many funny moments. Unfortunately, I cannot have an opinion about Shrek the Third, for I have not seen that movie.

@Electricdragon505 you left out one part where rj made a deal with a bear about stealing his food and paying him back by full moon otherwise he’ll kill him
It wasn't funny, and it made no sense to me at all that King Arthur was Fiona's cousin, or the relationship between him and Shrek, that Shrek was about to become a father and that Arthur had no father and they're supposed to learn from one another? I didn't buy it at all.
