You’re exactly right. This coach seems like she has completely hamstrung Caitlin. Honestly, this is the first WNBA game I have watched and I can see why it’s not very popular. Caitlin brings an energy and excitement to the game, but the coach has to let her go do her thing. I think the league will benefit more from Caitlin playing her game, even if they lose, than reeling her back and eliminating the excitement she brings. Just remember, without her, this league was nothing.

I just love basketball of any kind, so I want the WNBA to succeed. I also am not one to need the dunks or supposed athletic prowess to make me enjoy the sport. I want to see the game played well. The WNBA has seldom delivered that, and I have given it many chances. One of the rare times I did think it delivered was once in the early ’10s, in the Finals of one of Diana Taurasi’s championships. My friend and I actually watched all the games and enjoyed the series. That’s really been the only time. If the WNBA isn’t careful, it might take what was supposed to have been an all-time rookie class and squander the momentum it currently has. But that will have to depend upon the play of Clark and the other rookies. If they want to be like the NBA, they will have to deliver must-see performances like Magic and Bird did when they pulled the NBA out of its doldrums.

The WNBA plays real 90s basketball with defense and a post game. Players in the WNBA play with their backs to the basket and use footwork and post moves to score in a designed offense. Clark, who likes to dribble the air out of the ball and then just chuck up a low percentage 3 will find it very difficult to score now. Clark is boring player who has ridden her media created hype for long enough and will finally get exposed for being overrated. Oh, and for those just tuning in, the Great White Hype just lost by 21 points. I can't wait to read the narrative tomorrow: "Caitlin Clark becomes the first player to lose her debut by 21 points, but the league isn't going to count her first game because so many people came to watch her play." LOL
They should be making plays that allow her to be able to shoot 3’s. You don’t think in the NBA they are on to players like Steph curry and many others that jack up 3’s. They creat plays to get them open. The coaching is horrible and so are her team mates unless they can be trained to work together as a team.
