hey detroitBorg i am your big fan and i have been enjoyed watching many of your videos. I just want to have your opinion about my situation now. so i have been looking forward to finally change my old phone which is samsung g6 to a new iphoneX Plus and been searching alot about specs and ios system of the iphones. And i found out that ios is amazing and i really want to have a iphone, but here is my concern.. im actually now in the army and i have to stay here till next year (probably will be ended at the end of august ) and during the period i will have limited chances to use a phone although i can still use it from time to time such as when i have vacation. So in conclusion i want to ask you would it be better to wait another year for the new iphone? or just buy it this year. I know iphones will be upgraded every year but i wonder the iphone next year will be changed alot compared to the iphone this year.

Million Miler I know. I’m using an 8 currently and extremely happy with it. Also, my usage isn’t that much. Really nothing except a few songs, few photos, and gaming. So it’s actually pretty low. I have a 64 gb 8 and it’s more than sufficient for me.

I’ll be getting the new 5.8. I have had my 7 Plus for 2 years and I’m really looking forward to the smaller form factor. Plus the OLED screen looks great compared to your typical LCD display.

For me the 5.8 inch would be my best option
I like the small form factor, dual camera , OLED Display, stainless steel etc...
The plus always is too big so is the mid range one.

Totally looking forward to the 6.5 iPhone. Took my iPhone X back last year and exchanged it for the iPhone 8 Plus because I like the bigger screen and just decided to wait for this.
I’m currently using a 6s plus, and starting to notice a slight decline in performance over that last few months, so it’s time to upgrade when these new ones come out. I think I’ll be going for the plus model again, but it all depends a lot on my financial situation and the cost of the phone when it comes out. Current iPhone X prices are ridiculous, only a couple hundred euros less than a Macbook (pro). So we’ll see...

Hi, like your very confident presentation and knowledge. A bit of blue sky thinking. What do you think of having the new AirPod case that could accommodate the new generation Apple Watch for top up charging on the go, just like with the AirPods. Genius or what.
I have the 8 plus now and I’m happy with it, speed-wise there’s basically no difference between this and the 6s I had before and with apple prices skyrocketing I think, from now on, I’ll stick with older/discounted models.
Maybe I’ll grab this year iphone x if it remains on the market and prices go down.
I really love apple products but they’re asking pretty ridiculous amount of money right now.
The only product I’d recommend with my eyes closed is the ipad 2018.

Yea they are getting obnoxious with their pricing. I don’t even think the jump in prices over the years is justified compared to the minimum feature/performance increases. I used to complain when phones started at $600. But this is just ridiculous. They replace certain features, but it not really an upgrade.
Gabriele Mucci you are absolutely right. I too love apple products and got the iphone X last December. Though its a very good device, still I would say it is overpriced. Not to mention ios 11 lineup is full of bugs. If apple does not stop this ridiculous pricing of its products, I will have to stop buying apple products. Thought of buying the 2018 Macbook pro but the price just put me off.
johnson noel yes the upgrades just don’t justify the pricing. No device is worth $1000. If the pricing keeps on increasing like this every year then Apple is going to loose a long time customer here (they don’t care though, lol).
suman roy yup, you both said it all. While in the past I wouldn’t have trouble recommending every apple product (mac, iphone or ipad) because the pricing was high but kind of reasonable seeing how the software was fluid, stable and the hardware reliable, now I find myself really struggling to do that.
Pricing is not so justifiable anymore and that’s why I went with the 8 plus (for a good deal, not full price).
Also, speed-wise there’s really a tiny tiny difference with old phones and I could’t care less about animoji.
Since they made the most affordable and powerful ipad ever with the 2017/2018 model, I really hope they do the same for iphones and macs, maybe cutting some extra features.
Gabriele Mucci i doubt they are going to cut down on the prices of their devices because Apple is known for that premium price tag. So I doubt it. Also i find the iphone X to be a really good device and I replaced it with my note 8(which also is priced on the higher side), just not for the amount I paid for it. I enjoyed the OS till ios 10. Hopefully ios 12 will prove to be the same good old OS it was known for. I am not an apple fanboy by any means (i dont hate android or samsung, lol). Its just that I love using apple products and so hoping for them to come back into the game with ios 12.

I love my X and even though I'm on the upgrade program, I'm not sure I'll upgrade. I like the size most of the time. So unless there's a sizeable spec increase I may not go for any of them.

I will get my battery replaced in my 6S Plus 128G for 29 bucks and I will use it at least for another year. It doesn't lag, the screen is decent, it has Apple Pay, ... Upgrading is not necessary yet, IMO.
I am looking forward to the new iPad Pro models, which I might consider as a laptop since I switched to an iMac recently.

I’m 14 and still rocking an iPhone 6. I’ve worked all summer and saved up about $1500 dollars to buy a new iPhone. For a 14 year old I have massive hands so I’m definitely going to be picking up the ten plus. My only question is if I’ll stick with the 64 gb or spring for the 256. Help anyone?
