Lets be honest the majority of people making coffee at home want a great coffee thats obtainable by a non barista. Not everybody wants complicated perfection. Well done thx for sharing

    Loving the Barista Pro i bought from you back in May...the one thing about the Bambino that swayed me away from it was the lack of non pressurized baskets. Otherwise i love the compactness and the auto milk.

    I came here for the comparison from the barista express or impress vs bambino or bambino plus. What one product should you buy better tasting americano and latte? I’m still not sure. Do you have more videos on these types of questions? I know I need a burr grinder with the bamboo. I’m getting mixed recommendations. I’m not really impressed by the all in one aspect of the barista express and impress, I don’t mind have 2 machines. In fact I think longevity wise have the separate burr grinder is better so I can eventually replace the bambino or whatever espresso machine and still have a working burr grinder. That is if those things last that long. Again I’m new and have no idea. I’m comfortable using the base model barista express and have no problems steaming my milk. However I do like the idea of the impress with that automatic tamper! But that’s not to say if the bambino makes better flavoured lattes and Americanos that I can’t learn easily to do a better tamper. Basically I’m spending the money on home machine because my local 3 Starbucks only make decent drinks 3 out of 7 days a week. The rest are a range of bitter, muddy, sour, watery, thick like sludge, and just disgusting and not even drinkable. So after many and I mean many replacements I’m just going to make it myself because as someone with zero training I started off getting better results then the Starbucks baristas with all their experience and training. Make zero sense to me but frustrating so I’m changing to home brewing!! For consistency. I just want the best tasting coffee I can produce in the budget of $1300cdn. And these machines are on sale for the holidays here in Vancouver for $999 for the impressive and even less when buying the breville grinder and bambino options. I just need help picking. There far to many options. I just returned the fully automatic Phillips because it made one of the most watered down coffees I’ve ever had. So I’m back to the drawing board and up for suggestions. Thank you so much for any input you have to help me 🙏

      You can make an americano with any espresso machine that works, because an americano is just espresso and hot water. It doesn’t look like the machine dispenses hot water if that that’s what you’re asking

      @SuperMatrix59 Před 3 lety +1

      Listen. The numbers here are in the area but. What you need is a timer. Start at any othe mentioned grin settings and when after you grind tamp and run a blind shot to really warm up the bambino you time from the time you see the first drops coming out. Your shot should run about 25 to 30 secs. Even better once you hit your shot button if you dont see any drops coming out for a bout 7 secs you know your pulling a better shot that’s the infusion before the brew is coming out. You can also manually infuse your shot too.

    Just ordered the bambino plus! Can't wait to try it out. In terms of portafilter, what's the differences between a pressurized and non pressurized baskets? And what's the suggested grind size, I am totally a noob in this. Thanks.

    • @ecscoffeeinc
      @ecscoffeeinc  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Eric, sorry for the delay - The difference between a pressurized and non-pressurized basket is the addition of a second wall. The non-pressurized basket is usually one perforated layer which requires the grind to be dialed in perfectly. It would be suggested for a more experienced coffee-maker. A pressurized basket adds a second wall which helps as a but of a failsafe if your grind is a little off. With either basket you'll have to adjust the grind to your liking and it may take some tweaks, but the pressurized would be suggested for a beginner.
      As far as the grind size goes, for the Bambino, you'd want a fine espresso grind, however will still of course need to make adjustments to fit your machine.
