Side note, I'm a major Winged Dragon of Ra guy and I'm excited for all the new support. Chill, I'm a casual and looking for casual fun with that deck. I'm not saying Ra's going to be competitively viable.I'm just happy for the new support.

    This was very educational and fascinating, I stopped really playing by 2012 and I didn't even know about tournaments for yugioh since none existed in my area. But watching this and seeing how blue eyes became more than just an Anime deck, it really showed me how creative people are with this archetype. I got back into the game when Thunder Dragon and Sky Striker were the top meta contenders and I'd only seen blue eyes as an engine for the guardragons a few times online.

      @@TallMist Yes, flows so well 16 year old Yugi and his 16 year old friends in the DM anime go through the story of DM then 6 months later are graduating at 18 years old. Yes, flows so well that Kaiba in the DM anime witnessed Atem and Yugi's duel and acknowledged Yugi as a true duelist and also even called Yugi the King of Game (in the English dub) and he watched Atem walk away and said nothing yet 6 months later he's trying to revive Atem because he doesn't acknowledge Yugi and only sees him as a vessel and when walking down the stairs to the temple he says "so this is where Atem and Yugi had their duel" as if he wasn't there. Yes, definitely flows so well. You anime watchers are clowns trying to make a case when there isn't one.

    • @FentonHardyFan
      @FentonHardyFan Před 3 lety +1

      rob19ny Well, since you’re talking about the dub, the characters’ ages are never given, and I always thought the 5 seasons of the anime were spread out over the four years of high school. (And yes, I said four years, the dub is set in America, and we have four years of high school here. It is a natural assumption.)
      And honestly, Kaiba seemed pretty angry about being denied a final opportunity to duel the Pharaoh at the end of season 5, so it seemed pretty natural to me he would stew on that for a while and end up back in obsessive mode.
      (I like to think he finally found some sort of closure in the Egyptian afterlife and came back with a slightly healthier mental state, which enabled him to focus on other projects like Duel Links and Duel Academy-maybe even become friends and/or business partners with Yugi. Based on the artwork Kazuki Takahashi still draws, I think that’s probably what he likes to imagine as well.)
      In the end, we’re talking about Yu-Gi-Oh, which has always had a confusing/contradictory canon. The goal for most of us is to enjoy the story and characters, have fun with the concept and world, and mostly agree with other fans about canon. But in the end, most of us take what we like from the manga, sub, dub, and video games and form our own picture of events, while recognizing that other people will latch onto different aspects of the source material and as a result will have a slightly different picture. If that makes us clowns to you, then I guess that’s your business.

    I don't know exactly when the cards came out, but though the vast majority of my childhood I only used blue eyes. And I can say that paladin of white dragon, manju and senju and guarantee 1st turn blue eyes along with loads of call of the haunteds, premature burials etc and that sort of stuff worked really well, even back then. the only thing is it was a super fast beat down deck. It could not do well against super trap heavy decks.

    if I remember right, Back during the day of the movie Pyramid of Light Blue eyes Shining dragon got released. at that time I never had the chance to run Shining dragon as back then I only had one copy of Blue eyes white dragon. Finding out about Blue eyes Alternative White dragon, is getting me thinking of revamping my Dragon/Spellcaster hybrid deck. (and just for reference I'm also going to run Blue eyes Chaos Max Dragon and Neo Blue eyes Ultimate dragon though I may consider Blue Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon just for the hell of it).

    I always liked how how BEWD had a less traditional appearance in regard to draconic features, I think it kindled my fascination with Biomech art styles.

    you gotta fix your mic cause you can hear popping sound once in a while and your "S"'s are very strong, though ive been trained to hear stuff like that as a broadcasting student in college so for someone who may not have that level of training or ability to hear things like that as it is hard to hear if you dont know what to listen for wont hear it great video very interesting and as someone who used a dragon beat down for years and now runs a blue eyes based deck using all the fusions and can get out ultimate dragon (any version of) on my first turn this is a great walk down memory lane since its fun to look back at how long it took to get to where the card is now
