Three bell concerts in Mello (Italy) on the occasion of the spring village festival

- The bell tower of the church of Saint Fedele is thirty-five metres high and serves as a link between the main altar and the adjacent chapel dedicated to Saint Joseph. The top of the bell tower is reached by an iron staircase; when you get to the top, you can enjoy a wonderful view of all the mountains in the valley and admire the five splendid bells, cast by the hand of the famous bell foundryman Pruneri of Grosio.
The original bells were cast in 1859, with a total concert weight of no less than 4987 kg. The same foundry contributed to the recasting of the third bell, which cracked in 1912. In this video, the bells ring three signs for the celebrations, followed by a fourth sign that was not filmed because I was thanking the bellringers for their helpfulness.
The oldest record of the church in Mello dates back to 1441, the year in which it became an autonomous parish after detaching from Traona. The little information on the construction of the present church is taken from some documents of the Bishop of Como, who notes 1682 as the year when work began. Once the wall structure was completed, the decorations were carried out, among which are the masterpiece frescoes by Carlo Innocenzo Carloni, dated 1763. The interior decoration was completed between 1926 and 1928 by Eliseo Fumagalli, who filled the still white spaces of the vault with a grandiose pictorial cycle. The richness of the sacred furnishings is due to the wealthy local families, who emigrated in search of fortune to Rome and America and then sent large sums to their families of origin back home.

Elegantissimo sistema di campane installato sul campanile di una chiesa fatta con pietra locale, in parte a vista e in parte intonacata.. a rispecchiare il carattere sobrio e robusto delle costruzioni di queste vallate.. Grazie per aver condiviso 🙏 Molto Belle davvero..

Anche il campanile della chiesa è davvero meraviglioso e sorprendente. Le campane della chiesa storica sembrano suonare una bella musica. Guardando l'interno della campana, sembra essere molto elaborata. Il suono delle campane che risuonano dall'alto rende più belli tutti i paesi e gli scenari naturali. Italy is most wished country for me to visit. I love history and wish to see old historical buildings , buildings which have survived many years but have been build olden way. Todays structure is collapsing during storms. 🎈
what you say is true! in italy, the buildings that hold up the most are the oldest ones, the new ones do not hold up because man is no longer used to thinking about structures that last over time! in fact, some people do it on purpose to make them precarious, so that those who come after them get rich and rebuild them from scratch

Sempre bellissime queste campane come anche la chiesa e il paese, bravissimo anche per il video, queste le avevo suonate assieme a campanaro41 per i vespri della Madonna di Agosto grazie alla gentilezza di Gabriele e del Prevosto che ci han lasciato suonate e non poco (magari ti hanno parlato di noi) e qua si capisce che ci tengono molto alle cose (alla chiesa, alla processione e anche alle campane che per fortuna hanno una delle migliori ditte di manutenzione) . Aspetto i prossimi video
