The bells of the sanctuary dedicated to Saint Mary of the Snows and Saint Charles in Chiuro (Italy)

- The sanctuary is located along the state road from Como to Bormio and Livigno, in the beautiful mountains of Valtellina (Italy). The small bell tower houses three bells, tuned to the Gloria musical motif. In this video, the three bells ring twice to announce the celebration, half an hour and a quarter of an hour earlier.
- 1st bell in G cast by G. Soletti in 1769
- 2nd bell in A cast by F. Comolli in 1751
- 3rd bell in C cast by G. Soletti in 1769
The church was built in the first half of the 16th century; construction was completed by the beginning of the following century. The sanctuary was consecrated on 18 September 1628 by the Bishop of Como. The church has a single nave, the vaults of which are frescoed with three medallions inspired by the art of Tiepolo, created by Cesare Ligari 1767. The nave houses four side chapels, which hold altarpieces of considerable artistic beauty. The presbytery is bordered by a remarkable triumphal arch decorated with frescoes and houses a monumental altar in polychrome marble. A slender bell tower was erected at the foot of the sacristy, repaired in 1960 after it was damaged by lightning.

C-Historia, I saw the short about the Sistine Chapel; it was very moving. Also, the choir's sound and intricate detail inside the Sistine Chapel were brilliant videography. These bells were the sounds I heard when I wrote a poem called "~When the Bells of L’Eglise de Saint Leonard Toll~ Here is a little excerpt: It is about a poor little girl growing up in the south of France. Each morning she would check on the hen house for 2 or 3 warm eggs and feed the chickens. She was hungry and tired and leaning up against the stone walled fence, hearing the bleating of the sheep and feeling the northeasterly winds, she said, one day when I look up at the searing pink sky and see the apple blossoms white when my tears dry up -
and that moon once again recedes - south- When the bells of L’Eglise de Saint Leonard toll - God will fill - my hunger and lead me - toward - my new gravel path.
