    Hello from England
The day Elvis died was 2 days before my 12th birthday.. I remember watching the funeral on TV and in 1977 we only had 2 channels, the BBC and ITV and what sticks in my memory was seeing those White Cadillac Cars behind the hearse. There must have been 20 of them at least OMG.
I would listen to Elvis on the Radio mostly. As i have got older i look at the "backstory".
He was "DIFFERENT" and he had dreams as a child We all have dreams as children but do they ALL come true. For Elvis maybe they ALL CAME TRUE.
    He SANG like NOBODY ELSE
    He DRESSED like NOBODY ELSE
    He MOVED like NOBODY ELSE
He was truly " A ONE OFF"
By 1956/7 Elvis had "MADE IT BIG" and he HAD RICHES BEYOND COMPREHENSION.. By 1957 he along with Scotty, Bill and DJ who joined in 55 had toured by CAR all over the place. From North, South, East and West, 2 shows a day, and if they needed fuel money for the car they would do another show, 7 days a week for 4 weeks. How could any human keep going doing all that? I guess that the amount of shows they did were in the hundreds over this time
Where would they go for change of clothes, something to eat and somewhere to sleep. Well Elvis never slept and he had a "GIRL IN EVERY TOWN" who he met would take him back to her parents house and they would party.
You forward 10/12 years and the only difference is that Elvis bought a plane to get to most of the venues instead of cars
    .
Again touring all over the place and he would have to keep awake and at Vegas 2 shows A NIGHT, 7 DAYS A WEEK FOR WEEKS ON END.
He was WORN OUT and TIRED. BUT HE WOULD NOT QUIT and wanted so much to make his fans and audience happy and he did to the END and it was RIGHT TO THE END having died only 6 weeks after his last concert.
The pills issue. They were prescription medication to keep him awake and he trusted it would do the "job" but we were not there at the time and no one knows 100% what exactly went on and most of the people who were connected to Elvis are dead.
It is a shame he never came to the UK to tour because he would have loved it and he had so many fans here and you can believe the "STORY" about the Colonel but i have thought about this and we were not lucky enough in the 50's, 60's and to some extent the 70's to have Coliseums or any indoor place that would hold thousands, especially out of town.
    Different times, different people.

I was 12 years old myself. I had never experienced death in my young life. No family or friends had passed in my short life. My Mother told me over breakfast the morning after that Elvis had died. I remember going outside in our yard and crying. Through my parents I had become a fan of the larger than life Elvis. The concert from Hawaii blew me away. My hero’s were Elvis and Evel Kneivel. Ironically they both wore jump suits. Seemed like super hero’s to me.

@@badapple65 I still shed 😭 on his birthday and also the 16th August - 44 years on. I don’t know why and cannot explain to other people why
Just a few words in your comment sums up for me that Elvis and Evel Knievel were/are your heroes
      Yes Elvis was/is my Hero
I cannot think of anyone before, then or since that I could call my Hero
In the 🌎 of so called celebrity culture it’s all so fickle
Life then for me was much simpler
I am trying to find on CZcams any UK TV stuff like documentaries from back then on Elvis as the BBC and lots of other independent radio stations never play any of his songs
It’s been many years like this

And another bit of information that is a bit ‘spooky’ is
Colonel Parker born in Holland 26th June
      Vernon Presley died 26th June
Elvis last concert in Indianapolis 26th June

I am very sad to see all the negative comments on this video. I didn't have an opinion of Priscilla one way or the other,; I am on the other side of the world and never met her or Elvis (although I did see him in concert in 1976), so I had no way of knowing what she was like in person. But after watching this video I am convinced she is a genuinely lovely person, who loved Elvis through all the years of their life together. The way she spoke about him with love, respect, humour and sadness, all through this tour of Graceland really touched me. She will probably never read this, but if she did, I want to thank her for opening so many doors on Elvis' life. Her closing words were so heartfelt and so sad, I cried for her.

Why didn't they keep the red decor that was everywhere when Elvis was alive instead of redeorating the house in blue & white? The red was gaudy but it was Elvis.

It's what I like to call "small talk" or just talking nicely. Celebrities do this all the time. Just look recently with the whole will Smith smacking the Oscar announcer.

How do you know she didn't back then? You weren't there to witness talk behind closed doors. Only Elvis and Priscilla really know what broke up the marriage. It wasn't just cheating. It wasn't just one thing.

I can’t stand Priscilla. She cheated on and left Elvis for another man. Which intensified his addiction. You don’t leave a person that you love when they’re struggling with addiction. She contributed to his death. Now she’s gotten rich off of Elvis. She doesn’t deserve it.
