- So you recently got Vive Trackers (or are thinking of getting them) and want to learn how to improve your avatar game? Look no further. In this video I show you how to get them paired in Steam VR, setup and ready to go for videos and streams in LIV, and how to get full body tracking in VR Chat! Note that lighthouses are also required to use the Vive trackers.

I love vive trackers! I've been using them to code a motion capture solution using Unreal Engine, but my system really it doesn't compare to Animation Prep Studio. That one is really great if you want to make an animation using trackers. Also, something I have found is putting the foot tracker on the ankle can help reduce shake when you plant your foot. And DEFINITELY label the trackers and dongles as you said.
Oooh man doing mocap stuff would be something I would LOVE to do/get into but that is WAY above my knowledge level, haha. It's on my list of, "One day figure out how this stuff works."

I'm not sure if VR Chat supports facial tracking yet (as even the Vive's tracker isn't supported) but NEOS VR (similar to VR chat, but more technical and dev friendly) supports this, so there may be a mod someone has created using phone facial tracking. I have not looked into this yet unfortunately, but it does look interesting!

As long as you have lighthouses and use Steam VR, should be just fine!
Do all the usb plug ins ( that go in the dongles) come with the trackers or is that a separate purchase ?

Hey I’m having a bit of an issue. When I try to pair the trackers to steam VR it says no pairable devices detected, make sure your headset it connected. Even though my headset is connected. Do you know what could be causing this?
First make sure your lighthouses are also on and detected (using one of the phone apps), you can also try right clicking on where a controller would be on your Steam VR popup window > pair controller>I want to pair a different type of controller...> then selecting the HTC Vive tracker and follow the prompts.
I THINK I MIXED UP THE TRACKERS AND TOGGLES, HOW DO I FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE IS WHICH
Check which body part(s) you assigned them to in your Steam VR settings, otherwise if they aren't assigned, assign them. If you're talking about which tracker goes to which dongle, just plug in one dongle at a time and see what tracker turns on with it.

You are very beautiful, what camera do you use for photography?
I use a Nikon D3200 that I bought used but I want to upgrade soon, because unfortunately I can't use this one as a webcam for my mixed reality footage.
