    I was confused at first, she's pronouncing Diode wrong :) no worries, I figured it out. The diode cutter leaves no charred edges on fabrics, wools and felts. My C02 is overly hot for those fine fabrics. I rarely use my C02 cutter, mostly use it to cut acrylics and I'm not doing much of that. So for me my workhorse is the diode 20 watt x-tool with the expanded rails so I can cut double wide materials without resetting the workspace in the X-tool. PS my Silhouette 4 is gathering dust now days - the diode laser cuts more fine and better detailed paper cuts -no more yanking them off a sticky mat:)

    Thank you so much! I'm not even a beginner yet so this review helped a lot. I was worried with the low price of the M1 that it wouldn't perform very well, but after seeing this comparison I feel confident it will be a good first machine for me. Thank you!

    I have an M1 and an F1 laser and I have just bought the S1. For me the extra power and size of the S1 was the decider. If you don't want to cut clear acrylic, then the S1 seems to hit the sweet spot for those of us who have a little side hustle going on. The ability to swap laser modules is a big plus!
    That said, the M1 does have a camera and that makes quick one off's a breeze.
    I'm finding that with the things I'm making, I do all the grunt work on the S1 and then personalise it using the F1 as required.
    All that aside, I think XTool seem to make machines for the masses, I've found them really easy to use. The software (XCS) has improved over the year or so I've used it. But I keep going back to Silhouette Studio for the actual design work....

      Wow! Good to know. So you can use silhouette studio to design then use on this software?

    • @pauld7827
      @pauld7827 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@vvillarreal1880 Absolutely!
      What I do personally, is design in Silhouette Studio. I save it in Studio format for future changes, then export it as an SVG file. The SVG file then then be imported into the X-Tool software.
      Hope that is helpful.

    Among these 3 models, which would you recommend for doing series work... like working at least 4/6 pieces at a time? I mean in terms of ease of processing...It seems to me that the only one that doesn't have the camera that allows you to centralize the drawing on each single unit is the S1...having no experience, this aspect discouraged me...because it seems to me that we both have the M1 and the P2, thank you very much and merry Christmas

  • @fabriziomezzari5551
    @fabriziomezzari5551 Před 6 měsíci

    Hi, I really like the style with which you make the videos... congratulations! My attention go on the S1 but I have doubts because I'm new... I know that the S1 can easily interchange the 40w with the 20w and with IR 1064nm. What I can't understand is what purpose you can use having both 20w and 40w, what is the substantial difference? Also in the video we talk about acrylic...do I need the IR module to cut it or is 40w sufficient? Naturally excluding the transparent because only CO2 can do it. Thank you very much in advance for your kind reply

    • @SilhouetteSchool
      @SilhouetteSchool  Před 6 měsíci

      I think the only reason someone would have both the 20W and the 40W laser module is they bought the S1 20W originally to keep the price down then later upgraded and added the 40w. I can not see any reason someone who originally purchased a 40W S1 should also buy the 20w laser module.
