  • 1974 Merc 110 9.8 HP on my 10ft Bris Inflatable Boat. I just tuned the motor and it runs like a champ!! Now that I have the Carb cleaned and dialed in now I just need the trim pin so I get every little bit out of it. Also I need new rubber in the cowl so I don't hear so much shaking, with the top off it is quiet as a mouse. All-in-all I cannot be more pleased. These Mercs are bulletproof!!

I use the mercury 7.5 hp for a few month and must say, it's the loudest 2 stroke Engine i ever used. But my inflatable goes very fast with this engine

Be prepared to lose some acceleration when it's trimmed better, but it's worth it for the reduced drag.

man , i love the sound of that merc, i have one ,, it runs but if i dont keep my hands on the throtle, dies , i have to keep it up running , what do you think it could be?

My first guess would be to adjust the throttle linkage and make sure you have it set to the right RPMs

mine was because of gummed up jets in the carb. Took it off and cleaned it with aresol carb cleaner and some compressed air, adjusted the idle screws and it runs great now.

2 blade or 3 blade prop on this motor? I have the same motor and need my carb cleaned as well along with new rubber. They are so easy to start and run great
