Hello, I have a similar engine and I have a problem with it. It only starts on full choke every time, even when it's already warmed up. It flows at half power only when I pull out the choke cable slightly, without choking it chokes and goes out. What could be the reason? Are you able to help somehow? Regards
PLEASE HELP! I have a 80s mercury 7.5hp and I've replaced the impeller and the impeller housing and it still will not pump water, it will if I pour water down the pee tube but it only pumps for 30 seconds then stops, I have blown compressed air thru it and their are no clogs and yet it still won't pump. I also have exaust gasses coming out the pee hole so idk wtf and before you as YES I installed the copper tube. ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Where did you get a new power pack from? Been trying yo find one for this motor
Mercury calls it a "switch box". Can get them new through CDI Electronics, but it's around $300 for a new one.
That thing runs like a champ. I have the same motor! Having a couple of issues! I have questions!
