Thanks for the review, wasn't sure what to get for my e31, so I just ordered the same one as you. Plus I just upgraded all the speakers to carbon fiber ones, shout me if you want the details.

Where did you get those 2 white tabs that go on the sides of the radio and help you adjust it in? Are those included with the Blaupunkt Bremen unit? Thanks

Been planning to do this for awhile, cant get over the cost of the Bremen unit though.
You should definitely do it but I do know what you mean in regards to the price. You'd assume something that looks retro would be less than a head unit that supports Apple CarPlay!
Just about to install this unit in my MR2. Did you even read the instructions?! 🤣.
The cage has to go in first and you bend up the tabs to hold it in the dash. Only then do you put the head unit in.
If you want to use the external mic for hands-free calls, it plugs into the lead on the back of the unit, not the aux socket on the front. That’s why there is so much cable with it.

Does your E31 have the HiFi audio system with the amplifier?
Yeah you'll need the cables - I think I have the amplifier but I can't be sure
