    So some examples of loading speed changes due to items - Formula is BaseLoadingSpeed / Sum(1 + ItemPercent). Base loading speed is the time it takes to load the goods on the route... I am using 300t for the ease of calculations. So a small warehouse loads at 2t per second, so 300 tons takes 150 seconds. Medium is 3t and Large/Grand Warehouse is 5t. You can adjust the base loading speed to match whatever you amount you are dropping off.
    - Ship with a 45% (so 0.45 + 1) Loading Speed item at a Medium Warehouse (base 100 seconds) would be 68 seconds.
    - Airship with the 50% (0.5 +1) Loading Speed item at a Grand Warehouse (base 60 seconds) would be 40 seconds.
    - Ship with a 75% (0.75 +1) Loading Speed item at a Small Warehouse (base 150 seconds) would be 85 seconds.

    The only thing you'll have to consider with the first tip is that firemen or police have no access to those buildings either. If the buildings catch fire they are going to burn down.

    The problem with not having all elements in a chain connected to the warehouse by their own path is that you will never accumulate raw resources if your manufactured resource pool is full. For example, lumberjack hut and sawmill. If you connect them as shown at 3:01 then when your timber fills up, you will no longer be collecting wood because there is no way for the wood from the lumberjack hut to reach a warehouse. For some resources in which wood is an input (e.g. windows), you might want to rely on your wood/timber chains to supply the wood, if you're not consuming timber. This isn't necessarily efficient, but helpful for early game when you don't want to be setting up dedicated lumberjack huts as input to other chains.

    here's a tip for farms specially on embesa : since you want to save on fertile soil, and need watering canals, you want to place your farms on unfertile dry soil. Make several farms sit at the edge of the fertile soil and use 1 width fields that run as far as necessary to cover the entire area, your farms then end up having for example four farms with four fields running parallel to each other in the start, to be able to get through the narrow parts between the road and the water canals. If you alternatively put the water canals in the center and farms at the edges of the area, you end up needing more warehouses and roads

    Hi Taka.
    Found your videos very helpful and would like to add to your comments regarding keeping your trade ships safe from Pirates. I use the diplomacy tactics with the pirates VERY EARLY in in the game making sure to keep praising them and bribing them untill they agree to join me in Alliance. It can be a pain at first but its a tactic that yields great reward by by sticking to it.
    Once the pirattes are in alliance then from time to time just keep sending them some money (as little as 8000 ) and they stay in the alliance mode.
    In this way i can not only trade with the pirates (instead of farmung them) which can be very benifitial as they provide all sorts of goodies and personell but also i dont need to make any military ships to patroll the area which saves me a the credit points that i need in order to build more trade unions.

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 měsíci

      You don't need an alliance to trade.. Just a trade agreement and you can maintain high relations by doing quests for them and sending money every so often. Alliances are a NO... Never ever. You get into an alliance with them and they declare war on someone you might have really good relations with... You either have to go to war with them and ruin relations, or decline and it breaks your alliance and ruins your relationship. Never do alliances.

    • @asaadkazi8117
      @asaadkazi8117 Před 4 měsíci

      @TakaCZcams
      Hehe. I have been doing it the other way around. Making alliance with the pirates and keeping the AIs at trade rights level only. I do this because all AIs are generally at war with the pirates and never ask me for participating in their wars. And as long as I keep the AIs happy by gifting them or trading with them then I don't get any issues and continue my game play with ease.
      Whereas if I make alliances with the AIs then whenever one them goes to war with the other then I end up having to choose between the AIs amd then having to rebuild my relationship with the the one who got downgraded.

      Well, I’m no Takaruza, but in my opinion, the “Sunken Treasures” and “Bright Harvest” are the best DLC.
      “Sunken Treasures” gives you access to Crown Falls (one huge, mega island; lots of fun to play with) and the bright harvest allows you to support larger populations by being able to increase production of animals or crops without using specialists.
      The Artctic is a headache, Seat of Power is a “late game buff”. I don’t have Botanical Gardens or Land of Lions. So I won’t say about that.

    @CharlesSouillard Před 4 lety +1

    The Assetviewer actually gives the expedition rewards and gives a list of item sources with droprates.
    The white flag is indeed an item that can protect your ships... but at the point you'll like to get it, you'll certainly be already in position to ally with the pirates or AI's. It's actually more efficient to use coins to ally with the others than rolling for white flags.
    Plus, it takes an item slot that is usefull for loading speed or ship speed
    I think you should also give some more informations about the attractiveness and the public mooring, since certain type of specialists will only come in at a certain level of attractiveness. Assetviewer also gives this information.
    Maybe also mention attractiveness layouts, and the required items for that as well as zoo/museum sets.

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah I found out about the asset viewers update after I did the video. there's never any information when that thing gets updated except for on German forums which I don't go to. I'm working in the background on updating the Wiki with all of the locations for items based on that.
      There are a lot of different ways you can slot out ships. Like I said in the video maybe you don't want to ally or destroy the AI in order to farm items from them. There's a lot of different reasons to keep them around and maybe want white flags.
      And this is not supposed to be a huge guide on the full details of various mechanics of the game. I'm only giving short overviews of everything just to kind of help people understand something a little bit more. if someone wants more information on something there are a lot of guides and the wiki out there to get that information from. I'm only highlighting stuff.

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 lety +2

      Remember this is not a thorough guide to teach you how to do things and explain every single detail. I make it short and cover things that I noticed people either don't know about or are confused about. Just to try and clear stuff up... Some things like attractiveness are covered extensively on the wiki as well, whereas something like loading speed isn't cover anywhere so needed a little more explanation in the video.

    • @CharlesSouillard
      @CharlesSouillard Před 4 lety

      @@TakaCZcams Right, but I feel like guides should cover the most advanced mechanics. I've screwed a 150 hour game like this (the first one I did actually), just by not knowing you've to add Dr Hugo Mercier to get the printing press.
      It's just like buildings, no one tell there is no point to get them if they are not under the influence of a town hall or a trade union. Had to re-locate all buidings on the first game to increase production, which took me forever

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 lety

      And there are guides that I make and other people make to cover those sorts of things. This is not one of those. It's just a quick tips guide not an in-depth discussion. Yes I want to make more guides and cover more topics in greater detail, but this is not my full time job. I don't have much free time to make the videos that I am able to make.

    Hi I have a question, how many power plants do you think is needed for Crown Falls that is fully populated with engineers and investors?

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 lety +1

      Between 9-12 gas power plants (you would need to be using the 40% production boost item in the Arctic to be able to support this many), 10-15 oil power plants, or a mix of them... this is all without the Palace. If you have the Palace on CF, then power plants are boosted by the default Welfare Department bonus of increased range for public buildings. This will start to decrease the number needed as you increase the Palace's prestige rank and expand their influence. There is also a policy that you can have on top of the default effect that extends power range even further.

    @richardperry3293 Před 4 lety

    Rolling for stuff, at least in the expansions, I think depends on your attractiveness level or maybe if you havent finished the main quest for the queen. There are definite unlocks somewhere. I started a new play through and I have been playing quite awhile (350+ million no mods) but havent finished the main quest and my attractiveness in Crown Falls is like 3500 And I have rolled a lot with Old Nate and have never had a legendary person show up, nor a white flag or one of the half way decent propellers. In my older play through with 12K attractiveness and finishing everything legendary dive specialists were all over the place, the props were fairly common and white flags were still pretty rare (maybe one every 10-12 rerolls average). I do see legendary maps(books) for dive spots but no specialists or flags. In the Old World I dont think it matters as much. I got a lucky Garrick from a quest very early then I rolled a bit and got another one. My main city is under 1500 attraction and that is with a worlds fair. But have had no problem seeing epic specialists come up. In Arctic I couldnt get any of the building enhancers to show up until I got to technician. I was first only offered the animals the cultural stuff. But hat seems fairly 'normal'.

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 lety

      Rolling for items has to do with population unlocks or completing quests and is also heavily RNG-based. Attractiveness does not factor in to it at all. I am still digging through the game files to determine a few things... the game has what it calls "early game, early-mid game, mid game, mid-late game, and late game" which are when unlocks for things at traders happen. It seems from testing to be applied to certain population milestones and the numbers of citizens from each tier, but it's not easy combing through the game data.

    • @richardperry3293
      @richardperry3293 Před 4 lety

      @@TakaCZcams possibly. I know I have rolled A LOT in my old play through to get a few dozen flags and this time around I havent specialist shopped much or even 'played' i.e. done expeditions, diving quests, or quests in general. Basically just trying to inhabit as many islands as I could since my first time I didnt own many and it made the later game stuff difficult with not enough resources for buildings. I just know that I have not seen a single legendary specialist with Nate nor any flags or the epic props. I have rolled 100 or more times here and there. I know for sure I would have seen a legendary specialist by now. My investor count is pretty small, 5750. I also just finished my WF there. I havent rolled since but will do it 'for science' when I log back in.

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 lety

      Typically you want no more than one or two things being shipped at a time. It really just depends on what it is you're sending. It keeps your goods flowing great and minimizes the influence points spent by having a bigger ship than what the route requires. I even have one ship for each construction good (lumber, bricks, windows, concrete) on a route in the old world and the new world that just goes to every island from my manufacturing island and keeps these goods available on every island whenever I need them.

    I am new to this game so I watched some of your videos, great content. But there was one I didn't agree with, its when you said to not build steel beams/weapons because their upkeep is too high. Well, in my games I always overbuild them to full extend (6 furnaces on every island + 3/4 weapons), I lose money but keep sending ships of the line to merchants so I get 1 million in about 2 hours (before getting to artisans) while constantly losing 1500 or so. With Ctrl/Fx all I do is survey once in a while my shipyard then AI's one.

    • @TakaYouTube
      @TakaYouTube  Před 4 lety

      So my argument to that is while yes you are making money, your actual balance is in the hole and that is bad. I've seen too many people do that where they have a negative income balance but they have a lot of actual money. The problem they run into is eventually all they're doing is constantly trying to stay ahead of going broke by building more and more stuff to sell. It eventually will catch up to you and it becomes too stressful.

    • @Paroles_et_Musique
      @Paroles_et_Musique Před 4 lety +2

      @@TakaCZcams I get what you mean, but what I was implying is that there are many ways to skin a cat. The constant negative balance may look stressful to the noob (I am still one) yet on the other side you get tons of money, so is like Nirvana, not reality. When you overbuild, you lose money BUT if you sell the extra, you get money back. For example I use one of my islands to build only beer, tons of beer, I see negative balance yet I sell it to merchants then I see my money going up, overall.
      So, in my opinion, you can go the correct way, survey everything, look at figures and tune up every detail, but on the other side there are loopholes (like in real life), and after testing both ways I noticed you get rich faster by overbuilding then selling things. Of course, at some moment, you still have to tune it back but is easier once you have a million in bank.

    First tip is not very recommended since all of those buildings have a risk of fire and need access to the fire station,, and you should also expect the warehouse will be overstuffed.

  • @shelbyseelbach9568
    @shelbyseelbach9568 Před 3 lety +6

    I tried the first tip, didn't like it. Because of transport times your raw good guys always produce a little faster than the production guy can keep up with. The production guy has to walk to get raw goods and return, this only compounds with more complex chains, meanwhile the raw material guy is steadily producing. This means that what you think is a balanced production chain actually never is. This means that they are idle part of the time, and you don't have the extra goods in the warehouse to sell at any given time. Also you need to add a firehouse that can access both sides of the chain, so I simply decided it wasn't worth it. Roads are literally the cheapest thing you can build in the entire game.

      solution: lmao just pause the buildings up the supply chain until they got enough raw resource stockpiled

    These layouts are really not working for me because as you advance throughout the game there are going to be many things that change alot of things for you. You get your tractors, power and/or people in trade unions. I find myself constantly in a position where, lets say i need to relocate production buildings to hook them up to a power grid and get rid of half of them to lessen my mainenance costs. Same can be said about trade union items. some increase productivity, some remove chains alltogether. Any of these production layouts dont really work in the long run so i tend to not use them!

    why so complicated? If without items the loading speed is 5t/s, a 100% increase means 10t/s. Given you want to load/unload 300t it takes 300t divided by 5t/s equals 60s. Having 10t/s you only need 300t divided by 10t equals 30s. Easy
