- Bronny James has been dropped from ESPN’s latest mock draft and is now a projected second round pick in 2025. This caused an angry response from LeBron James telling the world to let his kid have a normal college experience. That’s obviously ironic coming from LeBron but the Lakers star was right about one thing.

I had a thought about Bronny the other day. Bronny is under way more pressure than Lebron was at his age. Don’t get me wrong the pressure for Lebron was high but he earned it over time and by the time it came his way he had developed enough to be able to handle it. Bronny has a target on his back everytime he touches the ball just by being Lebrons son, and guys are hunting for their moment against him. He plays like he doesn’t want to be embarrassed. Hes too tapped in this internet era. With his health issues and all he can’t and won’t properly develop.
Additionally lebron had talent to back up the pressure and expectations that were put on him. Which looks to not be a case for Bronny.

I think he was a 4-star. That might have to do with his name but he did put up good number is HS. We've got to keep in mind that he missed a lot of time with the team after his cardiac arrest. That probably hurt his development because he's not good enough to just put in the lineup and show out.

If stress caused that cardiac arrest the kid shouldn't be playing basketball or doing much of anything.
I think people are making too much of what happened. Sudden cardiac arrest amongst athletes is a relatively common phenomenon. It just happens and no one know why. For some reason it seems to be more common amongst soccer players but that may be because there are more soccer players than anyone else.
