- So many people have trashed the 2024 NBA Draft. People compare it to the 2013 Draft when legendary bust Anthony Bennett was picked first. But we also saw multiple Hall of Famers taken that night including Giannis Antetokounmpo! This is a closer look at the best players on Draft night and who could go number one.

Everyone was saying that about the 2020 draft class before and after the draft and it’s turning out to be one of the best classes in recent memories

I believe every NBA Draft ever has had an all-star come from that class, so getting the #1 pick is still big no matter what year. Kenyon Martin was still an all-star and a key member of two Eastern Conference championship-winning teams.

I’d say a chip contender for sure
I can vouch for Sarr - he plays for our NBL team here in Perth. Almost surely the best player on the team (Bryce Cotton is pretty good too, but even if you considered their current level neck and neck Sarr has more ceiling and is a much bigger player). Went to my first live game in a while a few weeks ago and it's really impressive watching him in person (compared to other NBL players).

I think that Ron Holland should’ve also been in this video, I am very high on his playstyle on both offense and defense, and when people come back to this draft in 5 years I have a strong feeling he will be at least top 5.

I saw Alex Sarr play at my local basketball stadium against the NBL-1 allstars (div 2 ball in Western Australia)
Such a good diverse group of players. I think sarr is the obvious number one, but yeah honestly it depends on the draft order. I think the top 8-10 players in this draft will develop into starters, maybe a few all stars but more than a few teams will be happy with who they select

Alex Sarr was very underwhelming in the Australian NBL. I presume they had him on limited minutes, but in our league a #1 prospect should absolutely stand out as a difference maker to a team, but he was a role player off the bench at best.
What about Zach Edey he is exceptional and could be a wemby stopper at 7 foot 4 inches and 300 pounds and has Purdue at a 1 seed in the ncaa tournament.

it definitely is a pride thing. Americans always talk about how they would dominate football (soccer) and other sports if they cared about them. but now that basketball has gotten a tiny bit of popularity in some European countries, they have started to dominate and take over the NBA. Don’t mind if I don’t know them yet tbh, I can enjoy both stronger and weaker classes wondering, predicting, watching games more to form opinions and just go off of that. If you feel special about someone who’s lesser known still then buy his rookie card for cheap, anything memorabilia or signed so you can have it for sentimental value and/or he becomes more known and you can truly say you’re a #1 fan. I’m sure these aren’t all just jobbers and the NBA is the best talent in the world can say, competition like that can help growth with the right mindset. That’s what I’d like to get out of a draft like this

I think a lot of basement teams may be willing to part ways with their current player for some of these guys even if it isn’t the cornerstone guy they need to truly start their rebuild.

I can see Topic goes to the Spurs. Shooting can be developed. But it's hard to pass on his skills being a true PG, unlike Reed, and having that very high IQ playmaking. with the Spurs picking Topic, it would be easier for Wemby to score

All these players with pro basketball parents. This will continue to increase. Pro basketball parents give you great genetics plus every available opportunity. This will drive down the popularity of basketball as it will be seen more and more as a closed club. Most sports will go this way.
