How do you keep your plants leaves green and from rotting in water
@@andreareyes9566 I put them in the water and when I see roots appear I start to add fertilizer, the one I mentioned in the video. Not sure why yours are rotting. Are you cutting the stems correctly, between 2 nodes?

you should let the cuttings dry for at least several hours before putting them into water or any medium to prevent shock (like you had) or stem rot.
That is recommended but I’ve done it both ways and haven’t seen a difference.
After cutting the plant, aren’t you suppose to wait 24 hours before dipping it in the water?
And what if the roots are way too big when they were in the pot with water? (was given one like that).. No need to cug them right?
So, you can add slow release fertilizer and also regularly liquid fertilizer treatments? I'm just making sure, I'm afraid of scorching my plants.
Yes. I do. I would go the low rate on the controlled release fertilizer and same with the liquid. Also, try to leach your soil every 4-8 weeks, depending on the plant and its watering schedule.
what is your liquid fertilizer called? I use another type.
When should or how do we know when its time to repot after this step?
After propagation, I usually transplant when they roots are about 1-2” in length, but keep in mind that the longer the plant stays in the water the more difficult it will be to acclimate it to soil.
I clean my trimmers after EVERY cut!
Whenever I cut my monstera, the ends turned black and squishy in a few hours. Even though I waited until I put it into water...
This happened to mine after about 2 weeks- there was a little new root growth but the end of the aerial root got mushy so I’ve replanted them in a mix of potting soil and sphagum moss. So far so good!
I have one that's dying on me I've been trying to root it in 💧 cause there's know roots.
This never works for me
1. Monsteras don't have multiple stems. They only have 1; unless you have previously cut these juvenile plants. In that case, each plant will have 2 stems.
2. Those "3 stems" in your pot, were 3 juvenile plants with tangled roots. So, you basically cut off their root system, just to put them in water to grow a new root system. This wasn't a propagation.

@@WendySS22 Haha! You do you. It depends on what you want. If you're going for a bushy look, and you're content with the back side orientation of each plant, than your current setup might work for you.
If you're interested in facilitating increase of leaf size, you may consider leaving only 1 or 2 plants per pot, so they don't compete for root space and nutrients.
If you want it to grow tall, you may want to consider re-poting them, so that the back of each stem leans against the plank, or pole you'll be using to support them. Otherwise, you'll have several poles on your planter.
