The Hall of Famer!! People sometimes forget his service on D-Day & that he raised sons who played at elite levels in both the Majors & the NFL!!
An amazing man, an all-time great player, and one of the most beloved figures in sports history. Thanks for all the memories, Yogi. You were one-of-a-kind
Great tribute! Anyone who has ever been a fan of baseball should watch is tribute & of all the accomplishments of Yogi Berra.
I met him twice. I brought his dog home in 1977. In 1980 and he rememberer me and bought me a beer at the press bar at the REAL Yankee stadium.
One of the nicest people i ever met.
The best catcher n All baseball......... period...........
This was excellent.
Yogi was the best bad ball hitter ever. I think one year he had over 600 at bats and struck out like 30 times. Vlad Guerrero was the best bad ball hitter of the new era players. Nobody comes close to Yogi, who helped the Yankees win 10 championships during his time with them.
Miss Mad Dog on 660 The Fan, those were the good 'ol days
Always A class act!
Great tribute! You mentioned AFLAC. You missed mentioning “Yoo-Hoo” for us, Gen-Xers, and anyone else older than us.
Excellent. Great video. Russo did the great Yogi some justice!
They mentioned Bill Russell and Yogi when talking about numerous championships. Don't forget Jean Beliveau.
He hit those two homers in game 7 off of a great pitcher Don Newcombe.
an institution unto himself......big part of baseball died that day
Better defensively than Bench, no. Overall I would take an ARMY of Yogi Berras over Bench any day of the week. His Regular season AND OCTOBER stats kick Benches ass all day 24/7 everyday
what about Buster Posey? yeah sure he's not a old timey but is a top 5 catcher of all time might be number 1
I love Posey, but no one comes close to Yogi.
Bench clears
Goat sorry bench Fisk Ivan greatest ever 3 time mvp 10 ws
LOL ok kid. lol! Fisk wasn't even better than Munson much less the GOAT catcher Yogi.
Nope bench clears
He was definitely better than overrated Munson
Over Bench? No way.
What 3 years was it that Bench wont 3 MVP's ? (I won't mention the WS rings because to be fair, that's a team accomplishment)
In the 1940s through 1960s (and earlier of course), pitchers could throw at the batters' heads. And in most of those years, the batters didn't wear helmets. That's the period that Yogi played in and excelled in. Game 6 & 7 of World Series 1952 are on CZcams. Watch to see how many of the batters have a foot out of the batter's box to make it easier to bail out if the ball is coming at their head. To me, that is the difference in the two careers. With that in mind, I'll let you decide between the two. Both were superlative.
Johnny Bench said if Jerry Grote was a catcher with The Reds he [Bench] would have been playing 3rd base.
@@tomb4575 Where would Pete go?
@@tomb4575 Grote sucked.
