  • Gerber really turned things around with the Fastball. S30V Steel, super fast Ball Bearing deployment and made in the USA. I've found my new EDC Folding Knife. Kudos to Gerber and thanks for sending the Fastball. (Not a paid endorsement, just impressed)

Sootch, I am a big fan of knives, as much as my guns. I've carried a Gerber for the last 30 years. I also keep a Case mini toothpick in my pocket as a fruit knife, for just about as long. Benchmade shot themselves in the proverbial foot, so much I sold all of my benchmades, including my Infidel which I absolutely loved! Gerber has always made great knives, and my go to multitool has always been a Gerver as well. Great video! I'll be picking up that knife today! Thanks!

@@SensiblePrepper You bet it is! I got the black scales with black stone wash blade. The grind was spot on and very sharp. I find it's size to be perfect for pocket carry . . . light and slim so as not to be a pocket hog and completely suitable for opening packages, general duty trimming, digging out splinters, staple removal when retrieving targets at the range, etc.

I have a decent sized collection of EDC knives from high end Reeves, benchmade, spyderco to cheaper Gerber models. But my favorite edc is a Ontario knife co. In O.D green assisted opening that has the safety that I dont use. the scales on the safety version has very grippy scales vs the non safety which are very smooth. ive really put it thru hard use in construction work even cutting shingles when I had nothing else to use i also use a work sharp sharpener maybe every other week it goes back to razor sharp and for 35-40.00 it's very hard to beat.

I just picked up this in Flat Sage last week, love this knife. Funny thing is they are made about 300 yards down the street from where I work, yet I had to wait nearly three weeks to get one from my local FFL which is only about a mile from Gerber. But I guess they had to send you one first lol. But seriously, I heard it directly that they are having issues keeping up with demand on this knife, which might explain the uneven blade cut.

careful carrying a fixed blade even in a bag with some state laws. I hate to see people get in trouble for things like that. Some states are fine with a fixed blade provided it is a certain length other have strong laws against carrying one around. I got a Gerber Freeman guide at Walmart for like 20 bucks and it is pretty decent 4 inch blade and pretty stout, not the best survival/woodcraft knife but not the worst either.

I got this knife a few months ago and played around with it for a few hours and then returned it. It is beautiful and well made. But, I think it needs to be scaled up a bit. It’s too small for EDC. I am sorry to have to say it, but it’s more of a “gentleman’s Knife” than a working mans knife. It is kind of dainty and medium duty. You can do a lot better and I am impressed with how well it’s made and the price is very fair for a USA made item. But, it’s too small for me. If they scale everything up it would be a winner imo.

This Gerber fast ball knife sucks! I bought one because of all positive reviews here on YT. Straight from the box, in less than one hour, the pocket clip was hanging on only one loose screw. Where is your lifetime warranty when you loose your knife because of that? You can't proof it. The grinding from the edge was also terrible. I send it back to the hardware store to swap it for a new one. I told them to send me some close up pics. from the edge first. Same terrible grinding. I asked for refund. I send a mail to Gerber USA about the issue and got reply from Fiskars Sweden??? Fiskars Sweden told me that the hardware store where i bought the Gerber Fastball knife was not one of their customers.
That's it! Great service isn't it? It cost me a lot of time with all the mail contact and money for diesel to drive two times to the post office totally 64 km. This was a month ago and i,m still pissed off!

I'm tired of the benchmade hate, they did what they had to. Those were police evidence guns most likely they weren't even safe to sell most police evidence guns are destroyed it's not just Benchmade that does it

Basically, the Oregon City PD had asked Benchmade to help in disposing and dismantling of firearms in there lock up. The firearms where part of estate turn in, evidence recovery, seizure, illegal possession, etc. because the OCPD was most likely running out of room in their lock up or the statute of limitations had ran out on claiming by legal persons . This is where I can’t remember if it was the city or county has a law that says these firearms must be destroyed. So due to the nature and the amount of items needing to be destroyed OCPD asked Benchmade to assist; well OCPD posted a Tweet of Benchmade sawing some of the pieces, which Benchmade was not aware of. And all hell broke lose for Benchmade ! The OCPD deleted the Tweet and said that they needed assistance because of the special tools that Benchmade has , and the PD was just following the law. So then to make matters worse people started to look and see the Benchmade gave political contributions to anti 2A politicians in the Oregon City area. BM apologized , but the PR damage was done . If anyone has more to add , go ahead ...

I have said this on many youtube responses that weapons (guns, knives, hammers, etc.) are routinely ordered by a court to be destroyed so the weapon can not be sold or used in any way. This process is done by companies that have the equipment to accomplish this. It is done without fanfare and not advertised to the public that so and so is doing this destruction. This time, however, someone blurted to the press that Benchmade was going to do the destruction of guns, and true to form, the Liberals jumped on it stating that Benchmade was anti-gun. This is not the case if you look at the whole picture. Political affiliation has little to nothing to do with it. Benchmade gets the steel for knife manufacturing. It is business and nothing more. No need to stop using your Benchmade now, but if you want to sell it I'll make an offer...

Bruce McConnell That's not all, though. Benchmade also contributed significantly to Democratic candidates who were actively trying to pass anti-gun legislation.

I am utterly puzzled that anyone (namely, you) cannot figure out a reason to be armed at all times; especially, where firearms are prohibited.
