James you should ride through Virginia Beach! Look at the Sabal Palmettos that grow their that are very large. Is the farthest North Area you will see Sabal Palmetto growing well.
Hey James, your videos inspired me to try and grow my own washingtonia robusta and filifera at home some time ago, but I have had a lot of trouble getting them to germinate (despite the rumors of them being easy to germinate haha) twice now I've had the seeds not germinate using the bag method and eventually develop a little bit of white mold after a couple weeks. My understanding is that they should be germinating in a week anyhow. How can you tell if I've added too much/too little water using the bag method? They have plenty of heat - I have a setup with a heating pad and a towel where they stay nice and warm 24/7
Sorry if this isn't relevant to the video btw maybe I should've commented on one of your robusta videos but I thought you'd be more likely to see it on a newer video :D

I’ve only watched you channel for around a year now but, what happened to your Queen Palm?
would you ever try growing a butia?
Sabals are alos from Georgia and South Carollina
Oh yeah for sure and they look beautiful there
Have you thought of growing a sago palm?
Not really too slow growing for me and too short I like things that get tall and trunk
@@TheJames2929 Sago palms are not real palms are they?
@@chitsu1388 no, they’re not Palm Trees they’re technically Cycadaceae
I had a couple they are either died, or I gave them away
Yea, over pruning is not good. It messes with how they grow. Only prune when fronds are completely dead
Yep, I totally agree
