@@BaldmanFPV well in modern day drag cars over a certain speed they require fire suppression systems . Like if you do the standing mile for top speed . It's a lot of money but will save your life

If I were you I would have primed/sealed all of the blue paint. I had that same problem when I painted a canopy for a pick up. The customer came with an already painted one and I repainted it and the colour was way off. Since then I've primed anything that has colour on it! Really living the build tho!

thats exactly what happened,you need to apply a sealer coat before and colour top coats.
That's what i said, they paid the price of not using sealer on those blue parts.
I agree , never paint over another color cause most factors prime their vehicles and when you have a dark color . The new color will turn out a little darker because primer is a light color .

ALWAYS use primer/sealant before your base coat. Not surprised at all by your results, knew it would be like that when you shot the red on top of the blue. Dont blame the paint mix, do the correct prep before you shoot your color coat.

I also noticed that they did did not prime the blue panels before painting. I guess they were rushing to meet the 24 hr. Rebuild constraint they set for themselves. Now they have to redo what should have been done right in the first place. 😢😅😂

You have to blend on to these colours anyway. Unless you use the same robot. Thickness of coats and how you apply the drop coat will affect paint match.

Give you guys some advice. Don’t drive like that on public roads. It’s all fun until someone gets hurt or killed. I’ve worked enough accidents in my life to know because I’ve seen it firsthand way too many times. It’s not a matter of if but when.
Other than that love these more realistic builds. Now you need to take the charger and track hawk to the drag strip and race them lol. We all know the all-wheel drive Track Hawk is gonna win.
Yep, in my country this would be called reckless driving, and cops would be onto them really soon... It's fun, yeah, but should only drive like this on roads with basically no traffic, if they don't have a suitable track nearby. Like where they did the donuts, that seemed okay.

Velvet tricoat is one of the hardest colors to paint match from Chrysler. Better to just repaint the whole car with the same mix. Love the build. Keep it up.
Yeah, the same as Ford's Ruby/Lucid/Rapid Red tricoat. So easy to mismatch.

Metallic red is one of the almost impossible colors to match.

Yes this color is a pain to match but well blend it and hopefully that goes good. Also the yellow in the interior is definitely something you have to get used to

You shot the red base over the blue panels and its influencing your final color.
It should have been sealed with the proper G shade sealer. Probably would have been really close then.

We figured if we throw it thick enough it’ll match but yes the undertones play a huge part
@@goonzquadsometimes the color has enough pigment to do that. Manufacturer's nowadays paint for final color and not coverage. Robots are programmed to spray only what is necessary to achieve final color and relative coverage .That's why the undercoat colors are so important!

Owned a 2018 Daytona 392 same color and I loved it. Sold it back to the dealership last year thinking it was time for me to get a gas saver. watching this video makes me regret it 😂 even though it wasn’t as fast. Turned heads all the time. Great job guys
It cracks me up that every time you unpack something your dogs are right there with their noses in the box, since they are dialed into the sound of rustling paper and plastic possibly meaning some food or a treat. When I was growing up in the 70s when electric can openers were the rage, our dogs could be across the street and the sound of a can opener in our kitchen would send those dogs running home since they equated the sound of that can opener with their canned food being opened.

These colors you can't paint separately, you have to blend them in order to match, you should've painted the inside of the doors and the pillars first, stall the doors and paint the car blending the fender and bumper

@@dennisbagatin4480 anyone who has painted cars knows that it was going to be an issue when they sprayed red over blue, and without doing a spray out sample and tinting to match. There is probably a variant stack of 10 colors for that single color code.

I don't think the problem is with the paint, I would swear that the problem is that you painted red on top of the blue and even if it covers, it is not the same as painting over a layer of light gray primer and that affects it. If you look, it turned out to be more purple than red.
Yep the chemicals eat into and soften the existing paint. Should always prime over or strip the old paint

Pace of the build has been superb, beast of a motor for sure. But, sometimes taking a little more time, like doing a full respray, means less hassle later. Looking forward to the next build.
I imagine these guys have older, more experienced guys shaking their heads at times. Not dissing on them because I was young at one time.

I live in residential and the stock exhaust is super nice, it won't wake the whole neighborhood and honestly the valves are nice to. I mean for daily driving the way the car is setup is perfect I think.
The sound of an excessively loud exhaust soon gets tiresome if you actually use the car on a journey as opposed to just going round block a couple of times 🤣🤣
I LOVE that you guys stitched back up the blown seats rather than just buying new ones which indeed would have been CRAZY expensive from the dealer. My question is, WHAT is the proper thread to stitch these seats back together with so that the next time the airbag deploys, the seat tears open correctly again?

I did an active exhaust delete on my hellcat with a chip I purchased, put a catback exhaust on from mbrp and sounds amazing, never had a problem with the active exhaust delete so far, no codes

The face and flop variations will always show on butted panels,
Plastic and steel/Aluminum will show different as well
Pearls in clear over metallic paint is all the fun matching 🎉

That hellcat needs "1794s" mufflers, I had them on mine and even with the resonators still on ,it was crazy sounding, everyone who heard it was impressed.😊

It’s actually been proven that “warming” the car up does nothing. Lol. The point of warming the vehicle up is to make sure that oil is circulating throughout the entire engine, but it’s almost instant. Oil is everywhere it needs to be within a couple seconds. But with that said, I never goose on a cold car regardless.

Long time fan and supporter here, but the shenanigans on public roads have gotten old and have to stop. You have a large audience, including young kids who will see this type of bonehead behavior and want to mimic it. Love hooning in V8 RWD, but I stick to private venues to do it safely.
