The Joe Jackson Band made three albums in two years, after which Joe Jackson went solo. The band reunited for "Volume 4" 23 years later, in 2003.
Volume 4 is awesome
Can't go wrong with Joe Jackson!
Graham Maby is still in his band and touring with him !!
Graham Is the best
Graham Maby on Bass. He is one of my favorites!
Graham Maby, on the bass essentially a role reversal bass as the lead. Guitar as support.. Genius work !
That beast on the bass is Graham Maby. Talk about underrated or what. Great reaction Harri
Joe Jackson Goes to College has some great live performances. I was lucky enough to see him at one of those shows, and to this day it was the most fun show I've ever been to.
Strong choice
Bass is on fire!
Graham Maby on bass!
The band on full boil!
👏😀💕🎶💃
Joe Jackson is a good one to pursue. 😎
Great reaction, Harri, and great request, Robert! Joe Jackson is a talented musician and vocalist. His songs and albums are so diverse.
From the Night and Day album, try Slow Song.
A complete change of pace from tracks like this one but presses all my buttons.
Criminally underrated is Joe.
"On Your Radio" next?
Love your reaction. Joe Jackson is incredibly talented. A lot of great songs. A lot like Elvis Costello as he gave up on new wave/ power pop for more advanced compositions. As with Elvis Costello I prefer the earlier stuff but I'm a simple man. Thanks for the reaction. Also, you ain't kidding about the bass player. If you want the next level try Got the Time.
you can see this live...nice
This came out in 1979, the year I turned 22. We’d go to San Francisco clubs and dance like crazy when this came on😅…so FUN❤
Joe Jackson!!!!🖖🏼
I used to work in SALES and would blast this on Friday heading home. Still a favorite.
My little local band used to play this. I was the bass player/ vocalist. I loved it.
you should react to his song "Look Sharp" its got similar energy.....love this song so much!!!!!
Graham Maby on bass. There are live videos out there and they're fantastic.
This is from Joe's debut album, from 1979, "Look Sharpe" .
Such magnificent full powered delivery of the instruments, with the quick lyrics and great vocals by Joe, this is such a fun tune. The humorous album cover with Joe as a petty criminal is humorous.
This made it to Number 12 in the UK, 22 in the US and Number 23 in Canada. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Robert. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
"Look Sharp" is Joe's debut album ( Released January 1979 ), and "I'm The Man" is his second album ( Released October 1979 ) .. Both are bona-fide classics, IMHO.
@wayne_twentyfive Thank you. I should have checked. 👍🎶✌️🇨🇦
@marybaillie8907 No probs, Mary .. And all your comments about the quality of the song are correct .. It's a ripper !
Thank you Robert!! My favorite track from this fantastic album!
Graham Maby is the man, listen to the JJ band track 'Friday' that bass is phenomenal, I saw GM play the bassline live in 1990...😲
The first album I ever bought, what energy! A criminally underrated artist, always pushing his boundaries, love him so. His band rocked!
My band covered this in the 80's. So fun playing the drums to this!
Thanks for a great reaction. So many memories of playing Joe Jackson songs at college dorm dance parties in the early 80's. New wave was like a blast of fresh music to experience first hand in that time. Joe's lyrics were especially on point and biting for college age kids - we had a saying "Joe knows". 👍
I love Joe Jackson. Have seen him many times over the decades. Almost every time he performs in NYC.
He’s brilliant and has written some very moving songs as well as bangers like I’m The Man, from his second album Look Sharp!: every song is terrific.
Got the Time is another fast song. (Great cover by Anthrax).
The Anthrax cover of Got the Time was my kids’ favorite when they were younger. Of course, Joe Jackson’s original is stellar.
@@memcmac nice to hear💕😎
Here's another banger for you "Change Your Ways" from Jazz Blues Fusion - Live in Boston and New York by John Mayall
Jackson has an amazing discography that he continues adding great albums to.
Jumpin' Jive, Steppin' Out and Is She Really Going Out With Him? These are some great Joe Jackson classics. I had a cassette tape of Joe Jackson's greatest hits that was in my car rotation for about two years. Check all these out.
Great song love the music wish he would of liked it
Seriously try joe jackson-we the cats shall hip you👍😻
JJ was a blast...Graham Maby (his Bass player ) and Bruce Thomas (Elvis Costello's Bass man) were New Waves BEST
The beginning riffs and the like what I like about you
Sounds like Elvis Costello on speed.
I always interpreted this song as the Devil coming back as a marketer to kids. Am I way off?😂😂
Bought this when it came out! The band is Hot right? I've played this in one of my bands back in the day, a real workout 💪
Definitely a car-driving, speeding-ticket- worthy song by him.
The only song that sticks out to me from him. I know he has other charting hits.
Graham Maby was a GREAT bass player!
One of my go-to pick me up songs ! Joe rocks this one out - pure energy. He also does a great job with his "it's Different for Girls" - very unique and worth a listen Hari ! Thanks ROBERT for the request !
Great reaction. Look Sharp! is another fun Joe Jackson tune. The band shines on that one too.
JJ is awesome. Wow I wish he had done colabs with a few greats that are now gone (Bowie just as an example.)
Would hope to see a few still around, say JJ with Billy Joel, or something hip with Harry Connick . The man is infinitely talented.
Great reaction and Happy 4th kick off with that gem!
Joe Jackson is new wave, post-punk, like early The Cure or The Smiths, The Jam, Joy Division, The Clash, Talking Heads, I can listen to takub music, but not for long, I get tired of excessive energy, although the music is subjective .
