*UPDATE* - Since the filming of this episode, the Mondeo has sold and gone off to it's new home. In the next episode I will go over all costs and finances on both the Mondeo and the Range Rover before showing you what i've bought to move forward with.
Nice work. Im struggling to sell my clean little city car during this time of year
@@zaink7037 No doubt that this is a challenging time of year to sell any vehicle (with Christmas just around the corner). I hope you manage to get it away soon 👍
Awwww poor doggo, keeps bringing his toy for play and sits there waiting patiently for car to get washed 🥲
Don't worry - i spend a massive amount of time each day throwing his toy for him...it doesn't always show on camera though!
I really enjoy this series, however I wish that 1 car is a whole episode ;-)
Great show. Range rover… so nice cars but at least in France (yes i am French), everybody want these cars but nobody are able to repair it.
Nice to see you bought an additional car. People shouldn’t be disappointed you spent so little on the Mondeo. If the deal is there you should definitely be taking it. Too good to pass up.
The Mondeo was certainly worth buying and it has actually now sold so it wont be long until the next episode when i can reveal all figures for both cars 👍
@@JohnnyGetsCash Meant to say ‘shouldn’t be disappointed’. Good to hear, looking forward to it.
Always a good day when a chop to top episode comes on my notification😃😃
second video ever i watch from you. As previous just up my alley! Love it. Keep it up=)
They are, cracking car the range rover but not everyone has the budget to run them as repairs can be massive.
Great looking car. While it's at the mechanic, get a gearbox flush and fluid change done too. As well as the upgrade oil pump, while they're doing the belts.
Thanks. It's booked in for all filters and fluids so ill make sure to mention the G'box fluid. Will have a word about the upgraded pump too - this isn't something i've had done before but willing to look into it if its a known improvement.
Most Land Rover specialists recommend the upgraded pump, I think they're about £140. @@JohnnyGetsCash
Always love it when you post chop to the top content, can't wait to see where the series will end up! Looking forward to the longer episodes 30-60 min
Thank you! More Chop To The Top soon!
Yeahhhhhhhh new chop to the top episode!!!!!
I love your videos - enjoy Sundays 🎉 Thanks Sue 😊
Cheers Sue!
Love this series! What i was missions from this video is a peek underneath the Range, of course we trust you when you say it’s fine, but especially seeing those sidesteps it would have been cool to see the difference between the actual undercarriage and those horrid rusty things. Another thing that left me a bit confused is related to the interior - I’d personally always give the leather a round of conditioner after cleaning/steaming. Not sure if you did that and just forgot to mention it but I think it’s good advice for anyone trying to replicate what you’re doing. Gliptone Liquid Leather is my go-to product and it even leaves a kind of new-car/ new leather scent in the cabin, sure to impress any prospective buyer that shows up :)
Been waiting so long
same
Love this series Johnny!
Thank you!
Really enjoying the videos. 👍
Nice update on the chop to the top series Johnny. I always look forward to viewing your latest vlogs. I think someone is going to get a real bargain given your estimated sale price on this. Given your attention to detail it now looks mint.Look forward to the next vlog & seeing what car is next on your journey to a supercar. All the best 👍🏻
Thanks Andy!
Always amazes me how people think they know better and can tell you that the way your doing it is wrong by buying a cheaper car to flip and make a few grand extra profit than just spending the whole kitty whilst they are just sitting at home doing nothing!!
You’ve hit the nail on the head! I do have a duty to keep the content interesting for you guys though, so I’ll always listen to the viewers and do what I can to show you interesting stuff!
Haters gonna hate. Well done to Johnny for being the 1% that walk the walk 👌.
Johnny as always a well done video, though short. Hoping some lesser vehicles come in and you and your shepherd can entertain us.
Very nice range rover johny nice tidy up and a good profit coming your way 👍👍
I think so! It's a beautiful thing but as we all know, selling Range Rovers is a tad challenging at the moment, but decent examples will always speak for themselves!
Hi Johnny,
Another great video. Where do advertise your cars?
being the autotrader fiend i am i came across your petrol RRS on there and its lovely indeed, good series mate keep up the content.
Yeh she was a beauty for sure! In fact it was the cleanest RR I’ve personally ever dealt with!
Haha, jake "helping" again 😊
Good job, cleaning a car is a pain but when you work out the earnings for a days graft its worth it, good channel
This one was a bit of an exception in that it was basically a clean up and detail with just the side steps and some minor smart repairs, usually it’s a lot more in depth! Thanks for watching!
I get my number plates from raysons radiators aswell noticed that little detail 😅😂
Great turnaround and looks lovely + great spec 👍 Unfortunately the market for both the L320 and pre MY18 L494 is terrible even with AB spec. My 2019 low miles FJLRSH HSE Lux pack L494 SDV6 has lost 10k in the 3 months I've owned it! Interested to know what's the mileage? Fingers crossed you get your +£9k 🤗
I have always loved these cars, truly I have yet never owned one, simply scared by the upkeep costs and horror stories. Realistically how expensive would this be to own/maintain and are all the horror stories true ?
The same can be said for a lot of people! My family have always been Range Rover owners so it’s never really scared me but I do get it….in fact my Dad & I have always referred to RR ownership as ‘Range Rover roulette’ 😂 sometimes you can buy a wrong’un but other times you’ll have the most dependable, luxurious vehicle of your life!
Love the series Johnny what makes you send it away for servicing instead of doing yourself when you are capable, is it just the stamp/paperwork?
That's a fair question... To be honest it can be for a variety of reasons. Sometimes if a car has a strong independent specialist service history, i will send it out to continue that. Sometimes if a car needs a timing belt doing, i will send it out for that and ask the garage doing it to also complete the service whilst they have the vehicle and charge me for all of the 'oily stuff' under one bill, and sometimes it's simply a time issue - if i'm really stacked out then sending service work out frees me up some time to carry on with other jobs!
Lovely car…terrible engine. The Lion V6 is a nightmare - the crank is a massive weak point (thank you Ford). If you buy one of these you should budget for a new engine/engine rebuild when looking at the price.
Jo you are a good one
Iv a 09 sport its breaking my heart
👌🏻🤩👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great content. I thought the range rover market has crashed
As far as the mainstream is concerned, that is the chorus that’s being sung, however for those who know the marque and the market, now is THE time to get in and make money whilst others are showing fear!
That engine and its crank is a pure joke how ford would not sort the problem is beyond me
Any chance the subaru in the background is coming on the channel mate
That’s been requested quite a lot actually so I will certainly do a video on the Scooby soon!
What do you think about if you bought a car worth £20-25k you would struggle to sell it as not many private buyers spend more than that? Or have you found otherwise? Add to that the state of the market at the moment.
Where are you based bud? I'd be happy to get a car off you in the future! Love your work. Top stuff 👍
Awesome to hear! I’m based in the South West 👍
@@JohnnyGetsCash cheers mate. Keep up the good work I really like this series of chopping to the top! Thanks for the vids and keep going strong.
Did you wash the roof and clay bar it 🤔
Just a wash / fallout remover for the roof
funny I'm just about to buy one the same as your diesel one, it has a blown engine same year same colour but was afraid of not been able to sell it. rangerover are falling in value big time at the moment
The market is not as bleak as certain folks would have you believe! Out of interest, what did you have to pay for an autobiography with a blown engine?
I've offered him 3000. 100k and it's mint. I was hoping to fit a new crankshaft an engine it like 5grand
Do o you find the ranges reliable ? And what engine would you go for. Keep debating one , but put off with reliability a
My personal taste in Range Rovers is a little different to the main stream. I run the 5.0 supercharged petrol myself but I don’t do big miles in it as I have access to loads of different cars - I admit that may not be suitable for everyone. In terms of general reliability, I don’t think Range Rovers are much worse than any other similarly aged, prestige vehicle. They all have their gremlins, it’s just that Range Rovers seem to have attracted the internets pack mentality wrath (even from those who’ve never owned one…)
My advice is look for a well serviced, known history car and keep up with ongoing maintenance and that’s about as much as you can do (the same as with any other vehicle). I hope that helps
@@JohnnyGetsCash I do high milage . Heard the 3.0 are like waiting for bomb to go off. Deffo gonna have to dip me toe . They should come down in price now
@@bigpauly3358 the 3.0 has mixed reviews. I have friends who swear by that engine and run them regularly, but I’ve also heard the horror stories. Prices are dipping at the moment but good, well kept examples are still fetching respectable money. If I were buying one to do big miles in, I’d go for the 4.4 TDV8 Vogue. Not the cheapest example to run but possibly one of the greatest engine / vehicle combinations ever created (in my opinion) 👍
When you was polishing the tail gate I could but help cringe with the cable of the polisher rubbing against the rear bumper which will then create scratches as it’s amazing the dirt and grit that stick to the cable especially in a work shop environment.. Just hope you still had the bumper to polish after you finish the tail gate.😊
Don't worry, i was working top down 👍
Cracking job though , machine polishing makes the difference tho 👍🏻 good few hours polishing tho I bet
@@neilbenzie3618 it was an absolutely mammoth task, but one I’ve done multiple times before so not too much of a drag!
Im just about to buy a 2010 range rover sport how much did you pay for that one?
All costs (purchase price, cost of sale prep etc) will be revealed at the start of the next episode once this one has sold 👍
I'm looking at a 2010 with about 100000 miles for 3700 that's a good price think?
@billylip680 that's crazy cheap is it working 😂😂😂
Are you still doing this chop to the top? Ep13?
Chop To The Top is ongoing & the next episode should be released in the next few weeks 👍
If you can buy cheap enough to make profit than that is all that matters.
That’s exactly it! The Mondeo was a worthy purchase (and has now sold, showing a fair profit), but the Rangey was also too good of a deal to ignore and that came up prior to the sale of the Mondeo so whilst I had remaining budget, it was well worth the extra investment!
First!
🍪
Consistently voted the least reliable cars in the uk ! Why would you waste you're money?
My dads had his from brand new it’s on nearly 200,000 miles never had any problems with it. If you look after them they’re fine?
I've bought and sold a lot of these vehicles. Yes they can be problematic, but i like to think i'm familiar enough with them (and with the motor trade in general) to make an informed purchase. This one will be a money maker for sure. stay tuned for the next episode.
Bored a minute into this video - if you can’t trade up starting with £25k and you don’t revel the costs of your purchases then give up on you tube
I’m guessing you haven’t seen this series before? I started with a £150 car and have traded up to a working budget of £25k…with that I bought the Mondeo st and now the Range Rover. All costs are revealed at the start of each episode as I can’t reveal what a car owes me until I sell it (as doing so would impact the sales process). I didn’t show costs at the start of this episode as this was an addition to the previous episode and at the time of filming, the Mondeo hadn’t sold (it now has).
Honestly lex's titles are so shite click bait I stopped taking him seriously entirely.
Great Video Pal, putting more effort in cleaning your vehicles, than certain dealerships out there 🫠
It's all about the elbow grease!
Just one question. Which is better, Range Rover Sport supercharged or Range Rover supercharged? I’m looking to get either of them, I detest diesel and won’t be doing heavy mileage. Cheers
I think it really comes down to personal preference for body style. I’ve had both ‘full fat’ examples and sports and for me personally, the supercharged sport is the absolute pinnacle of the ‘performance SUV’ market. My supercharged sport is just an absolute pleasure to use 😍
