1969 True Grit was my favorite film when I was a kid. I watched it every day and i still own the VHS tape of it. I remember being stocked for this adaptation. After taking my dad to see this I remember being shocked and he asked me what was wrong so I went, "I think that was better than the first one". Way to go Coen's, you've remade a classic into a masterpiece.
This was my grandpa’s favorite movie and he passed away two years ago to cancer. I watch this movie so many times
One of the best remakes I've seen that didn't get jacked up.
Yup. It’s even better than the original.
Nah, man, the Original was MUCH BETTER, by far. the only thing they sorta improved on was the Texas Ranger, and including Colter Wall on the soundtrack.
@@riecheur6088 classic example of blinded by nostalgia. No hate towards the original whatsoever, but this version is the perfect example of a remake done right.
Ya the only thing I didn’t like was the ending
@@chandreokemo9008 I actually agree. I love old movies and old westerns but this one I believe is better than the original.
When this trailer came out, my friends and I walked around saying, “I can do nothin’ fer ya, son.” For weeks. We just kept trying to find ways to work it in.
One of the best Coen Brothers movies ever and underrated
It never gets old, I love this movie! When I saw this trailer in the theater I knew I wanted to see this on the big screen. Great screenwriting and acting.
The best move ever made!🥺
Both films have their moments.... looking forward to seeing this again soon.
This trailer doesn't capture what makes this film great: Mattie's delightful articulateness and the oddly thrilling willfulness of her character, the developing tenderness of her relationship to Cogburn, as well as the humor, weirdness, and emotionally moving vibes this film manages to capture.
Bravo! One of the best Westerns I've watched. Jeff Bridges was brilliant! Matt Damon was classic, and Mattie Ross was adorably witty. Intrigued all the way through.
True Grit 1969 was John Wayne playing Rooster. It was a fine John Wayne movie, watchable. I would recommend it. True Grit 2010 has Jeff Bridges bringing to life, Rooster. There was no distraction with that John Wayne superstardom in the 2010 version. In the 1969 version, I watched and expected John Wayne to do John Wayne stuff. In the 2010 version, I paid more attention to the story. I would recommend both movies strongly. I was a John Wayne fan in my youth, but I matured I guess.
Damn that is some good audio mixing!
"I can do nuthin for ya son".
Saw this on bootleg and I loved every. single. second.
I just realized that there are 4 MCU characters in this movie
Jeff Bridges:Obadiah Stane
Josh Brolin:Thanos
Hailee Steinfield: Kate Bishop
Matt Damon: Loki
MCU 🤷🏽♂️
Don't forget Matt Damon as Loki
I was just watching the movie on Wednesday. And I felt overdue after over 10 years thanks to Hawkeye
Stage Loki.
I actually prefer this one over the 1969 adaptation.
most do
Perfect choice of gun and the rig he carried it in
I read the book and this trailer is just as i imaged it
Great book, amazing movie. I loved the 1969 John Wayne classic but the soundtrack and the epilog just makes this one a masterpiece.
Anyone know the name of that Johnny Cash remake at the end??
This was good! I enjoyed it more than the No Country trailer.
Anyone know the beginning music for this trailer?
Colter Wall.
@@riecheur6088 Don't suppose you could narrow it down? Can't find it at all.
A remake that’s actually good.
This is unique movie about a lawyer-to-be girl who seek his father's murderer and a retired marshall that she drag.
+the girl being gritty throughout the movie
+You won't notice the soundtrack but when you do, oh boy.
-why did he kill the horse? if he is tired just leave it there
He spared that horse the slow painful death of being eaten by wolves. Horses don't lay down very often, even if it's to sleep, once they fall due to exhaustion, it's best to end their suffering.
Seen this over 20 times and still can’t figure out the shoot out at the end. The shooter on the far outside seemed to be riding on the side of the horse to avoid gunfire. Shows Rroster shooting at him but he was not hit. Yet he’s gone. Just Rooster and Ned. Was he shot?? Never showed him fall of horse.
Anyine played Day of Defeat? 1:33 is the sound of a Gewehr43 haha
Edit: the first shot
oh my god it is
I have always like John Wayne s True Grit. But I made the mistake of reading the book and Jeff Bridges made the better movie of the story. This is really true at the end when he rode that horse to death trying to save Matty's life. In the book it was described in all of it brutality, and was portrayed rather well in the movie. I always feel sorry for the inocent, and the horse was innocent. Still if I was faced with the same situation, that horse would have died, and just as brutally.
The Dude
There’s only one true “ True Grit “.
and it is this one
Eavy Eavy You’re too young to know any better, kiddo.
@@CrimsonSurvival Bold of you to assume he's a """kiddo""" based on the videos on his channel, said thumbnails including literal maps of Iran, though it is true that the original film was better.
Iron Monger
Kate Bishop
Jason Bourne
And Thanos

Netflix sent me here! Bridges, Steinfeld and Damon had fun making the movie as it seems. But the slow pacing didn’t do it for me. I wanted something more action packed.
Good movie but John Wayne was better
This right here is why people need to stop remaking movies, especially starring John Wayne. No one could ever successfully reenact the original classics because no one is The Duke. Horrible acting by Jeff Bridges! That's like trying to replace Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow 🙄
This remake doesn't hold a candle to the John Wayne version. Wayne is a far better Rooster, and the supporting cast is top notch. The Wayne movie has wit & humor, along with a lot of suspense. Whereas to me, this movie dragged. Jeff Bridges should have known better... You don't remake a classic made by a legend. This version is BORING.
Couldn't disagree more. This was a fantastic remake.
@@terrytenney4175 Everyone is entitled to have their own favorite. :) Enjoy!
I respect your opinion, but I disagree. This was a way better movie.
