Just know, tapeworm treatment is not a one and done deal even though many vets will tell you that if so, and you can easily look this up, in veterinary literature; I just wish more vets knew this truth, especially, since tapeworm infestation is quite common, you would think they’d know all about it! I had a cat, who had tape worms, for his entire life, 10 short years, and no he did not have a flea infestation, except when I first got him, and the vet treated him over and over again, throughout his lifetime, with different dewormers, and he was never rid of them, and I believe it led to his constipation issues, blockages, and I’m quite sure it affected his kidneys. My poor baby a voracious & Unsatiated appetite, and he would inhale his food, and there were times he was skeletal, and other times he would gain weight, but then, he would rebound, and the worms that were probably never completely gone, to begin with, got out of control, again. His needless and senseless death is inexcusable and unforgivable. No one should ever put their fate, solely in the hands of a doctor or a vet, and they need to do their own research. I’m dealing with a tapeworm nightmare right now, and my cat has already had four treatments, and she has lost half of her body weight, and I am terrified and heartbroken that she is going through this nonsense with modern medicine. I also believe none, of these dewormers, address all lifecycles, as flea preventatives once did. There used to be a topical flea treatment, and surprisingly, there still is, that only addressed adult fleas and not the larvae, that is completely counterintuitive and counterproductive, so make sure, if you’re buying flea medicine, it kills all lifecycles. Interestingly enough, no matter how much I search, none of the dewormers seem to indicate whether they treat all lifecycles, but I’m guessing they do not, otherwise I would not be dealing with this nightmare! Some vets also believe tapeworm infestation is benign, and it is not, as it can lead to many severe health issues that can lead to the demise of the animal. I hope this information truly helps many pet owners! FYI, I do not have outdoor cats, but some of them, were rescues, but even when I brought them for their initial check up, my doctor never told me to deworm them as a preventative, and especially, if they had fleas, some doctors told me, don’t worry, not all animals get tape worms from fleas, and I’d rather air on the side of caution, so now that I know better, I know what my options are, but it’s sad that a vet couldn’t avail me of them! Blessings and good health, to all pet owners and their precious fur babies!💜😺🐰🐶🦋🎁✝️💕

I dont believe that a trip to the vet should be required to deal with worms. If you would give relevent info.

I agree ppl should see a vet when needed. I do not agree that the slightest irregularity should be a financial devastation. Or rather a situation where its death of a family member(pet)if you do not have a stack of cash available. Feels like extortion . If farmers had behaved in that fatalistic manner, we would not have survived.

I seen a thing if they eat dirt such as potting soil it’s a sign they might have worms?

Maybe...or a reaction to a dietary need or the enjoyment.
Try 1/8 TSP per pound of food, Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade.
Parsley tea helps the stomach, mix in food.
If you worry about these kinds of suggestions, don't bother
asking the public...do some extensive WEB research, also.

A question that seems impossible to get an answer, how does a human identify which worm type thier cat has?.

If it looks like grains of rice or small white pieces its probably tapeworm, many other worms are too small and may be microscopic so you might not see them. Some look like spaghetti I think its either roundworm or hookworm but I'm not sure. I hope that helps!

@@PinkFlowers365 it does help. Thank you for the attempt. If i had to describe what i saw, reminded me of fly larvae on a dead animal. Like fat rice . Didn't appear flat or like a long spaghetti.

Ivermectin is effective for many of the types of parasites. Fenbenzendole gets all of the types, including heart worm. I do not believe a vet can give un biased info about any medications or sicknesses. Im over 60. Every experience with Vet care is all i have to base that on. Greed is in all areas of our lives. God bless
