I started doing this almost 2 years ago and have had no tapeworms since. I have 5 cats. One month 3 of my 5 got tapeworms. $125 to treat them all. Then a few months later, 3 different ones got tapeworms. $125. You wouldn't believe it but months later, yup, again. So I googled and found this video. Then I told all my friends and they're doing it as well. Now I post this video online all the time. Thank you

It is safe to use for cats, dogs, and to put in your garden. It has been wonderful for me. I mix it with a small glass of water almost daily. It also combats candida overgrowth. I love your videos and diatomaceous earth is fantastic. I wanted to let you know about a cat’s diet however. Cats should primarily be fed a wet diet. In fact the best option is no dry. This is for many reasons. Cats do not have a thirst drive so rather than drinking they will normally eat... If the food they are eating is dry then they will not be hydrated enough... putting strain on their kidneys etc... can lead to urinary tract infections etc. Cats also require ZERO carbohydrates and in fact have no enzymes in their saliva to start breaking down the carbs. They have a very difficult time breaking down carbs/sugars at all. A primarily dry diet is therefore the primary cause of the high incidence of diabetes now seen in cats... as well as obesity and kidney failure.
Kibble (for cats and dogs) is a convenient and cheaper option In feeding your animals however it is not any optimal diet. Carbs have to be added to kibble in order for the kibble to be formed. Therefore kibble is extremely high in carbs. Dogs have a small requirement for carbs....much much less than what is in kibble and cats have a zero requirement for carbs. In addition most dry food is processed through high pressure and high heat which causes the nutrients to be lost...therefore the manufacturer adds back synthetic vitamins (not great). There is also research that shows that a ‘byproduct’ of that process can be cancer causing... hence leading to the higher incidence of cancer in pets.
If you do use kibble you should store it in an airtight sealed container (preferably not plastic). This is because once the bag is opened the kibble starts to go rancid. For that reason any bag of kibble should be used within a months time of opening or you run the risk of your animal becoming sick from the rancid fat in the kibble.
When I look for an animal food... I make sure to avoid certain ingredients which I am sure that specific food has many of. Some of the basic ingredients I avoid are corn (no nutritional benefit and high probability of it being genetically modified), soy (same reason as corn), any animal by-products (if the description says meat or poultry and does not mention the specific animal..then you have no clue what animal it is. With by-products you have no idea what you are getting.. dead or dying animals...animals that have been euthanized...or what leftovers of the animal), powdered cellulose (basically wood pulp), any hydrolyzed proteins (often included in a diet that is supposed to be for sensitive pets. It is basically a protein that is ‘broken down’ and highly processed so the body doesn’t recognize it as that protein... although it seems to be the latest fad to add to be able to market the food...it isn’t a good option, carrageenan (studies have linked to cancer)... etc
Sorry, I know my comment is very long but my fear is that people see the dry and think it is a good diet to feed their cat... as well as seeing the brand you are feeding and mistakingly think it is a good choice if you do feed dry (sorry...it isn’t... that goes for their dog food as well).
I adopted three cats that were all fed a primarily dry diet. One of them worse than the others. She was fed 100% dry... and a horrible one at that. She died of kidney failure and I hadn’t even had her 6 months. One of the others diet of kidney failure as well...I had him for around 6 years and he was fed 95% wet diet when he came to me... it was heart wrenching... and if I can prevent it from happening to anyone else.
Unfortunately vets often recommend dry (traditional vets have little to no nutrition studies....same as a doctor...which is why we go to a nutritionist when we need nutrition information for ourselves and not a doctor who couldn’t be knowledgeable). One thing people are falsely told is that kibble helps clean the teeth because of the crunch. Unfortunately the exact opposite is true. Particles of the kibble are left on the teeth... high carb content... sugars.... lead to plaque.
The reason I know the above is that I work for an animal feed and supply company and continually am reading and Learning about nutrition. The company I work for.. yes it is a business but the focus is on the best for the animals and not just in making $$.

wow very nice. for some people that can't afford wet food, there's a urinary care dry food and the best for all , buy a water fountain cats love it and drink a lot they're natural instinct is drink fresh water that's moving, when water is in motion it gets oxygen inside and makes it fresh and delicious for them.

    • @tonyahoward3563
      @tonyahoward3563 Před 2 lety +2

@@jasonc5418 just buy the best quality dry you can get.. I wouldn't use urinary (the ones I'm familiar with are not the best quality). Add water to the kibble. Feed as much wet as you can. You really should aim for at the least 50/50. They need the moisture and it is unlikely they will drink enough water to make up for the dry.
(I know it can be more expensive but some people feed dry because it is more convenient and they do not realise how bad it actually is.
Also keep in mind vet bills are high and you want your kitty to be around for as long as possible.
I adopted a beautiful cat who had been fed a 100% dry diet. I only had her a few months before she had kidney failure. We tried to save her but it was too late. Almost $2,000 later and Twiggy was gone. My young daughter had fallen in love with her...

First off amazing video! And what a sweet soul! ❤️
BUT!!! It pisses me off when people judge or look down upon others for getting “cheap” pet food like purina etc.... or when something happens to their pet and they ask for help because they cant afford a vet and then someone says “you shouldn’t have a pet if you can’t afford them”. If only the people who could afford a vet bill ranging from 100-thousands at any given moment because something happens or getting $50+ pet food deserved to have pets then there would be HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS more homeless animals. We do what we can....I myself can’t afford expensive pet food (or even good quality human food at times) and i cant drop hundreds for a vet at any given moment but i know i give my babies the love and care they deserve. Also, a lot of medicines and treatments that come from a vet are horrible! So why not use a natural method if possible. Do your research and make a wise decision. Is the average pet food the best? Probably not. But it’s better than not feeding them anything at all or not giving a pet a home just because you can’t give them the best food. It’s like saying someone who takes their kid to McDonalds shouldn’t have a kid. Ridiculous 😑

For everyone giving Becky crap about feeding kibble, maybe you should look at your own animals diet. 8/10 People that serve a raw diet to their pets do not do it properly and often miss crucial vitamins and minerals (in proper amounts) which is likely to cause bigger problems down the road. Sometimes kibble is the easiest, most cost effective way to provide a balanced diet without calculating and planning out a menu everyday. Cats and dogs are some of the heartiest creatures on this planet and and you will never know these issues are there until it's too late. Most people don't have the time or knowledge to feed a perfectly natural raw diet with everything that animal needs and therefore kibble is the best choice for them. Do not shame this animal-loving woman for making her own choice, as she has every right to do. A cat/dog being fed a raw diet is at an even greater risk than those getting fed kibble, ask any vet. Back off this women, she has the right to feed how she wants!

Man I hope this works. My tom cat is pulling his hair out and I happened to see a white worm on his rectum. Never wormed a cat in my life. Spent 60.00 at Petco for worming medicine and I CANNOT get the medicine in him. He won't eat any wet cat food, raw meat, milk, tuna, cooked beef, nothing with the medicine in it or on it. I have a bag of diatomaceous earth for flea control. Will try this immediately. (it would be easier to put a condom on a bob cat than to get a pill down Cricket's throat. Vets want an arm and a leg. Yes this works well but Becky didn't tell us why it works. The DA must be "food grade", is crushed to powder form which passes through harmless to the animal. The abrasiveness she mentions means the minute particles scrape against the parasite and acts like it is being scrubbed with razor wire. It can't heal from the injuries, dies and passes out with digested materials. Best wishes to all.

No fleas at all when I get off my lazy backside and do it regularly. Now have 3 stray cats I took in and the tom has worms. I saw one. Stressed out trying to get medicine in him. Lovely video. Thank you for talking about this amazing, all-natural product. I personally find that it is best, for me at least, to add the appropriate portion to food that is in the food bowl about to be served instead of adding diatomaceous earth to the food bag itself for a more consistent and measured dosage, but it certainly does not hurt to add a fixed amount to the bag ahead of time. Diatomaceous earth is truly an amazing product to have. It is a natural detox, internal/external parasite control, health supplement, and more. Now, out of the food-grade kind, there are two types that I know of. One is the plain, white kind, and and the other is the gray kind known as Red Lake Earth. The gray kind is diatomaceous earth with a natural infusion of calcium bentonite (a good natural health supplement in its own right). They can both be used for the same purposes, but the gray is said to have more vitamins, minerals, and overall benefits. I do not know about other places, but, where I live, I see only the gray kind with the exception of the time I saw the white kind once in a small, little lunch bag that cost the same as the 20 pound bag of Red Lake Earth that I usually get. Based on benefits, availability, overall convenience, and price, at least for me, the gray kind is the better product.

I bought some Red Lake Diatomaceous Earth that is food chemical codex grade. The only animal not listed is cats. Is this the kind you use? I have a lot of cats and I'm trying to find a way to deworm them that is affordable, but want to make sure it is safe.

It got rid of a flea infestation I had in my house. Make sure to cover your face when you dust your house with it, the shell is like glass and that is what cuts the exoskeleton of fleas and roaches. They dry up, they use DE in grains when it is being trasported to avoid bugs from infesting food. It is safe around kids. Just remember to dust the house and leave for a bit so the dust settles, cover your pate face as well if you put it on their fur.

@@marianolasco251 for an adult cat + 1yr use a teaspoon of de per day. I usually mix the teaspoon to one of their wet food meals, once daily.
Or add about a tablespoon of de to a 1lb box of their dry food, make sure to mix well.

To all the Haters upset about the Cat Food, Do you Trendies ever think about the alternative to anything, you Holier than thou Hypocrites? If the only people that could afford to buy premium Cat & Dog food owned animals, the Amount of Animals euthanized would be almost 7 million a year according to the ASPCA. That is 3.3 million Dogs and 3.2 million Cats. This number does not include current pet owners according to ASPCA 2015 stats. Most Pet owners do the best they can to give a good home to animals that would otherwise be put down and sent to a landfill, Yes Landfill ! There is nothing wrong with Purina if that is what you can afford. Studies are showing that a raw food diet is problematic to a animals health as well. A good Home, Love and attention is the most important thing to an animal that would other wise be Ferrel (short life span) or Homeless (euthanized). Thank You to Everyone that has adopted a Shelter Pet, WE NEED YOU !

Asher Cohen I agree... we feed 40 feral cats that we don't have to.. it's our choice to do so... they are happy to get what we feed. We have taken 30 of them in so far to get fixed (spayed/neutered)... only about 10 more left. We feed Meow Mix hard food and Friskies in the can... we spend about $300 a month on just our cats... we do more for them than anyone else around here. My neighbor behind us feed some too and feeds the same thing we do.. I'm sure the cats are grateful and don't care about what brand they get. Lol... if we didn't do it.. no one else would.. then what? They also hunt on their own so are getting variety.
I just got some diatomaceous earth to deworm them and was looking to see how to use it for them. Nice video!

This isn't about premium versus cheap food.
I hear a lot of people on here implying that dry food is the affordable choice. You seem to think that the "haters" are self-righteously promoting some type of trendy food that only high-income hippies can afford.
      Nope.
If you're on a budget, avoid dry food and feed your cat Friskies or Fancy Feast or any other low-carb canned food. It's not about giving your cat "premium" food. It's about giving your cat adequate hydration and minimal carbohydrates, so that they don't suffer from urinary tract disease and diabetes.
