AMEN! AMEN! You cannot believe how happy and excited I was to see this. I was showing dogs in the '70s when parvo hit the scene and a lot of puppies died & breeders quit taking their puppies to shows. Then along came the famous seven way or six way vaccine. We all rushed to get it for our dogs. Then all kinds of breeders started seeing their puppies come down with auto immune diseases (the same is happening with the COVID vaccines.).
I bought a pup during that period of time, i had never paid so much for a pup and had more health problems! I ended up having to sacrifice her at 8 (life expectancy 15-17 years) because she could no longer stand up. The vets had no explanation and called it AUTO IMMUNE muscular dystrophy! I almost lost another dog a few years earlier because of the violent reaction after being vaccinated and, a couple of years ago an idiot local vet insisted on pumping my 5 # Chihuahua against my instructions with the 7-way + rabies all in one sitting. By about 9 pm the dog was in bad shape and we had to rush him in for IVs. How about rabies they have always been a three-year vaccine and yet because the government is worried about rabies they insist that they get vaccinated every year not my dogs! We have to make intelligent decisions for our dogs if there hasn't been rabies around forever and we don't live in the country where they could be exposed to ranies carrying coyotes or skunks why on Earth would we vaccinate them annually against rabies ? Thank you docto
We definitely need more like you. I also appreciate your mention of ivermectin being used for cancer treatment in one of your podcasts. I have now seen that application for ivermectin a number of times

I'm not blaming the Vets, I'm blaming the institutions that hold protocols that Vets have to uphold to retain their Veterinary licenses. Most Vets care about animals immensely. Just like what happened to Dr. Jones, if they stray from the mandated norm, they get booted out.
It's a money making business but your local Veterinarian is not swimming in the dough. Sure they may have a good life. They work hard for that. It's the pharmaceutical industry that sways the mandates made by the Veterinary "overseers" to force them to obey these protocols.
It's no different than the human medical practice.
Please don't start a war on Veterinarians. They are there to be life savers when our fur babies need urgent attention. Do not make them the enemy.

I'll never forget the day I did something right by bringing my cat in for an emergency visit where they charge you more because she had what looked to be a seizure and her eyes were very large afterwards and trusting them to help us only to be grilled by the front desk about a late rabies vaccine and they really administered that while in for a sick visit which I heard they're not supposed to give any vaccine while an animal is sick. I would've rescheduled when she felt better! The next day she died in front of my kids and I as soon as I stooped down beside her on the couch and reached my hand out to pet her 😢 I lost my trust in that place and will never go there again for my animals. I rescued that cats whole litter from the freezing elements. I kept the runt, Lucky an orange and white lovable girl and she was so very special and lucky to survive being the tiniest in that weather shaking. Took her in the car and cuddled her with the heat on, and she was so hungry when i got her home. She was sliding around in a mess of moist food as she pigged out. Her face was a mess, but she was safe and finally had a home.

She even suggested titer testing when I was concerned about vaccinating my little girl because she was so sick when I got her. She still doesn’t have the second main one just distemper & we only did one additional not the two back to back recommended for ferrets & she happily ran the titer test for me this year, her levels were great, plus it’s the same price as the vaccine so why wouldn’t you.

Some collies have a genetic susceptibility/allergy to the most common dewormers (ivermectin). You have to be very careful. Plus if there really IS an internal infestation with a significan't biological load, you have to be VERY careful not to kill the entire worm load off all at once. That much dead material inside of a dog's system all at once could easily cause a dog to go septic and die of a massive systemic/blood infection.
I knew a young homeless couple who had an 8 week old german shepard puppy that was CLEARLY infested with worms. I tried like heck to take the puppy from them knowing they didn't even have the rescources to feed it, let alone get it medical help. The puppy suddenly became lethargic, disoriented and very clumsy. The worm infestation had gotten SO bad but by then I was afraid to help for fear of sending the puppy over the edge. They managed to get the puppy in to see an emergency vet that remedied the most urging pressing symptoms and concluded it WAS the massive worm load causing the problems. Due to costs, they took the dog back prematurely without any real solution. 😤 The vet only offered a short term fix but the puppy was at least back to acting healthy again. Right then I went out and purchased the wormer and gave them instructions. They insisted she was healthy. I gave them the pills and told them, "When you give her this, be on the ready. She is going to expel LOADS of worms with diarrhea and you have to clean and sterilize all the areas she has accidents in. You have to flush the waste down the toilet or put it in the garbage. Do NOT leave it to decompose out in the grass as she and other dogs will pick it right back up from their regular paw grooming." The next time I saw them all she could say was "OMG! You were right. She had So much inside of her that she pushed out. How did you know?". I said a healthy pup has a FLAT tummy and a slender build. Your puppy has always had a distention in her stomach." Though the puppy is not in the best circumstance, she is at least healthy and thriving.

Sprinkle some kelp on their food. The organisms in it eat the bacteria that causes tartar. It needs to be a certain type of kelp: ascophyllum nodosum - you can get the powder on eBay for a very reasonable price. Much cheaper than buying it as a branded product from pet stores. Anyway, I started using sporadically on my 12 yr old husky’s food and he won’t need to have a teeth clean now. You can see his teeth are waaaay less yellow. I also feed him raw chicken frames and bones, no processed supermarket food, always have. Think this has kept his teeth in good shape. The kelp powder has been great though. It’s all natural and also has lots of vit and minerals in. Win win! Give it a go- I think you’ll be really happy with the results. I sprinkle about a teaspoon on his food. He’s 27kg. Depending on your dog’s size you can use 1/2 tsp up to tsp and a half. I used it every couple of days and used a tsp. Use it daily if you like, I just kept forgetting. Still have seen awesome results.

Great info. My vet keeps calling to book my dog's yearly check and vaccines. He is a rescue adopted last September and had all the vaccines. My vet insists he needs a rabies booster yet I understand these are good for 3 years. To walk into the office is $132. I am retired on a tight budget but want to take care of my dog properly. This has confirmed my feelings about yearly vaccines. Thank you.

To add to this conversation my vet office just informed me that a rabies titre cost over $300. And because my rescue had his rabies in early September just after his vaccine 1 year ago I must re vaccinate for only 1 year and then go to a 3 year after next year. That's 2 more vaccines for rabies. This is forcing people to choose to sign a waiver against rabies vaccines or pay for something they really don't want to do. Unbelievable.

Very helpful. I have been fighting this fight with Vets in California! Some even lying to my husband and me and saying it's the law when it's not. Here in California in my county.. we don't have to vaccinate our cats...and some vets are demanding the rabies vaccination in cats that live "in doors" and never go outside. This is stupid! If my cat was outside then yes. But I agree...too many, too often and too much is given because it is a money making part of their business. To the point my cat has been refused care unless I rabies vaccinate them every year. Even though one had a bad reaction to it. I do not want to lose my cat to cancer, and there is zero chance that they can get rabies unless I bite them. At that point I could bite the vet! It's ridiculous. Some vets say you could get a bat in your house...well if that happened then I would get all vaccinated...I mean I am not stupid! It needs to stop. The feral cat programs are not helping at all. I have saved many wild cats and at that point they were tested and vaccinated....rabies included. But at this point...as house cats it is not required or nesscessary. Thanks for using common sense. But I would not take the covid vaccine either. Best defense is your healthy immune system!! Vaccines are not tested like they should be! 🤷🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🐈

I had 2 dogs who were over vaccinated. One, a miniature poodle, developed auto immune disease and we wound up having to put him down. The other, a small maltese, died a slow death over years, every time she got her shots she would deteriorate a bit until finally she died. She wasn't even 5 years old. I was devastated. Now I have a new maltese and am deathly afraid to let her have any vaccines. I cannot find one vet in my area who will agree to care for her unless she has a myriad of their vaccines. One even got nasty with me. Regardless, I absolutely refuse and if there is a time I need a vet for her I will find a way to deal with it. I will not lose another dog to greed.

Hi Dr, so glad you brought up this subject, it all made sense. I've been breeding toy poodles, and always administered only half a dose, never had any problems, side effects etc. Recently a vet vaccinated my last litter, one out of the 3 pups had severe side effects. The injection site developed into a huge lump, and a few days later the 8 week old puppies body was covered in abcess, and was in terrible pain. The vet denied that it could have been the result of the vaccine, long story short, puppy had to be flown miles away to a independent vet, only to be euthanized, autopsy report stated puppy had a reaction to drugs. Only drug it had, was the vaccine. My heart was broken over this puppy, and the suffering it had to endure. I took good care of him, until almost the end. This all made me stop breeding, we don't have decent vets, they were not honest, and covered up for one another. I have imported all my breeding stock from reputable kennels over the world, and had to give up. Thank you for such informative videos, ure the best, greetings from South Africa

She also was against the "extra" vax like lepto and lyme's. After my mom nearly lost a dog to a severe lepto vax reaction I make sure my dogs never get that vaccine or any other unnecessary vaccines. Thank you for putting the truth out and including the research papers to back it up. Keep up your good work Dr. Jones 👍👏

I will never give a dog a Lymes vaccine. They pretty much decided for me when my dog was a puppy and getting her first shots. And I hadn’t known any better. I made sure they did not give her that again. They did talk me into the lepto and the rest. But next year she won’t be getting anything. My previous dog wasn’t vaxxed aside from the usual puppy shots. And she had zero health issues and lived to 11 1/2 years old.

@@rumham7466 Yes I completely agree. It's terrible how vets will pressure us to do unnecessary things just to meet their financial quota. I only go to a vet if it's absolutely necessary. I give my own puppy shots so I know they get exactly what I want them to have and don't have to argue why I don't want lepto or Lyme's or the others. I have a rescue puppy now I'm about give first vaccine to. She will get puppy shots and 1 rabies vax that's it. I have an 11 year old dog I did the same with and he is super healthy. I have a 9 yr old that was vaccinated multiple times before I rescued him and has multiple health issues including an auto immune disease, seizures, and a tumor at the vaccine site.

A vet told me some years ago that kennel cough vaccine was not effective. Years later with a new vet, he tried to give her kennel cough vaccine and he got quite angry when I refused. I did allow another vaccine, and my poor dog had terrible side effects. I went in because she had a tooth problem. Didn't fix the tooth problem but got a jab in. I didn't go back for the 'booster'.

I had to let my Geronimo go on 8/31/22 at 4:25pm mountain time. She had a sarcoma on her hip despite never having been vaccinated. It's thought to be from inflamation caused by falling off of the cat tree back in April. Everyone assumed vaccine associated sarcoma, so I told the (potential - my cat ended up not being able to get surgery because the sarcoma was invading her sacrum) surgeon that she was vaccine free. This surgeon said that she "doesn't follow the law either regarding vaccines" and that, if she does vaccinate, she does it in the tail. Then, the vet that came to my apartment to euthanize my baby, said that she was pleased to hear that Geronimo had never received a rabies (or any other) vaccine because they are the worst vaccine for causing sarcomas. She had also stated that if you ever do get the rabies vaccine, to feel for a lump a few days after the injection. She said if that lump stays for more that a couple of weeks, to insist that it be surgically removed because those lumps typically return as a sarcoma in the future.

Lahoma, I hope Dr Jones addresses this. My dogs almost always got a lump. We no longer vaccine. The laws should be changed to accept titer results. I wish I'd known about having the lumps removed. Makes so much sense!

My mother's dog came to live with me after years of not having been vaccinated. I thought I was doing so well by keeping him updated on his vaccines, heartworm prevention, etc. His third year of vaccine updates, I also tried the chewable flea and tick prevention. 30 days later, he had dropped a severe amount of weight, his kidneys failed, and he was gone.
I am so grateful for Dr. Jones, I cannot even say. I will be following his advice for my dogs from now on.
    Thank you Dr. Jones. ❤

I then realized I ought to check in with Dr. Andrew Jones. Here I got the scoop that he himself does not do the yearly vaccines ever. So it was a great check up. Thank you so much Dr. Jones you are thee best and most in tune with reality vet I've ever encountered. Thank you for our ever so thorough vet visit.

Even though I cannot prove this idea, I stopped this yearly veterinary vaccine mandate and changed his diet to raw. Our vet totally disapproves of raw diets, but offered high carb kibble.

I just found out a few years ago when I adopted a little 5 lb yorkie that they give them the same amount of rabies vaccine as a great dane and I'm appalled and angry! A friend of mine in another state said she goes to a Holistic Vet and she was given titer testing that showed her dog had adequate amounts of vaccines already so she was given a letter that her dog does not require additional rabies shots. I asked my Vet to do a titer test and they quoted me a price of $500 which is ridiculous when my friend said she can get a titer test for just over $100...... she said she has her vet draw the blood and then she sends to a lab and they process it and the cost is minimal. I stopped a lot of those excess vaccinations my dogs aren't exposed to other dogs so I do not feel they need a multitude of vaccinations other than what is required by law. I feel someone needs to have that rabies deal examined though.

Thank you so much for your help, Dr Jones! I haven't trusted vaccinations for a very long time. I have had veterinarians tell me when my pets were getting up in age to no longer do yearly vaccinations if I want my fur babies to live longer. Mainly what they were telling me they do not need it and if I continue the side effects will kill my pets a lot sooner. These veterinarians who practice for 20 some years, know these vaccinations have many harmful side effects and this is called premature death. This is not just with animals but with people also. In the past whenever I got a flu vaccination, I was sick for more than a week! When I wouldn't get the flu vaccinations, I would never get the flu and be just fine. I haven't had the flu for more than 20 years! Love Your Channel. God bless you, your family and all your wonderful pets you care for! ❤❤❤😇❤❤❤

Thank you . We missed the booster time for our dog for the rabies. So the Vet gave him a rabies to start all over again. Also he got the rattlesnake shot again. Also got his nails clipped. Well a month later, Charlie was limping on his left foot & we put some antibiotic salve on what looked like a cut for 2 days. Then he limped on his right foot. The 4th day he was not well at all. Wanted to bring him to the Vet but my Husband said he will get over it. The next day he had to bring his Sister somewhere so he wasn't home & Charlie cried all day (Yes I should have tried driving to the Vet - at 77 I don't drive) so when he came home Charlie came into the kitchen where we where & just collapsed on the floor. We got him onto a quilt - he is a very large dog 96 lbs.- carried him into the car - drove to the Emergency Vet & while they were trying to figure out what was wrong - he passed on his own. He was only 3-1/2 years old. I might add here that he did sleep all day except to go out to pee - I thought it was because it was so very hot outside (SW Arizona - August) - but now thinking back - was it the heat or something else? I so miss my Charlie puppy. J
