You are not over selling it. It’s amazing
Everything Harmony is by far the best effort from them. It’s their most luscious, lavish and most emotionally beautiful album. They’re not rocking on this one it’s all about the feels and they succeeded admirably id say. The singles to say the least are some really well written pop songs. A true pop song is when you can sing it over and over again and it won’t get out of your head. It takes some real talent to craft some catchy melodies like this. I like how you talked about the intricacies that are all so true
Yes! There’s an intangible art to good pop songwriting. They’ve got it. Plenty more where this came from, I’m sure.
I always had to listen to the last albums 2-3 times to start to really enjoy them. But for this one, only once and I'm in love with it. Everything feels better than before, the sound, the harmonies, the melodies, the color spectrum of the songs... today was a great day for me. Thank you D'Addario borthers
I'm appreciating this album more with each listen, there's a subtlety and nuance to it thats taking me more time to pick up on. time will tell but its definitely in the running for my album of the year as well!
Id love to hear your thoughts about the new album "Love For the Underdog" by John Andrews and The Yawns, I've been enjoying it a lot. or "Rides On" by The Nude Party!
It took me a minute to listen to their new album because I love their past works so much, I was scared this one wouldn't live up to my expectations. Really stupid of me to doubt these guys when all they do is get better and out-do themselves. They're incredible and I wish more people knew about them because they deserve the recognition.
Exactly. As hard as I'm sure it's been on them to delay release dates and have issues with their old label, I'm kind of glad that they're taking their time and polishing each release. I'll happily wait three years for an album this good, and I know they'll have more coming down the line with how many songs they write.
Absolutely fantastic album
Hey ! I’m from France and I’m supporting them from their first (official) album. They symbolize the quintessence of what I love so much in Rock and Pop. I mean they’re so brillant ! I thought their best album remained « Do Hollywood » but now « Everything Harmony » seems to me the perfect one with this touch of maturity every band has at a moment in thier carrier.
Glad Michael and Brian’s melodic style melt more on this album as like you I’m more a Brian (Paul !)
I’m so sad that I can’t see them in concert in a few days because I’m not available. Will somehow balance this watching shows on CZcams 😢
truly an incredible album. its shocking music of this caliber is still being made to this day.

I saw them towards the end of their North America tour not too long ago in Chicago. We were absolutely not worthy 😂. They gave really such a stellar performance! Josephine Network who opened were also terrific! Such a memorable show :)
Hi. Just watched your video (also discovering your channel). I couldn’t agree more with actually everything you said. I simply love this album and I believe it should get more attention. One of my favorites on the album is What Happens To a Heart, but really the whole album is just magnificent. I will check out your other videos 😊

Took a while to grow on me (maybe bc I dislike Friends) but I love the song now.

After hearing the first 10 seconds of "Any Time of Day" I knew IMMEDIATELY that these guys were tapping into something very special. And BOY do they bring it here. Impeccably crafted songs that have a timeless quality and are accessibly pleasing while being complex at the same time.
Right on. Have you heard their first three records? I strongly recommend all of them.

I just stumbled across this band recently... After the first spin of the album I really pegged them down as just a nostalgia drenched semi novelty act.....
Except I kept coming back to it..... And now I'm realising.... Yes it's drenched in nostalgia, but this is a fantastic album by two excellent song writers.
I'm loving it more each day.

I had the extreme pleasure of chatting with Brian and Michael after their 5/12/23 show in Cambridge, MA. They were so sweet and welcoming! I love Everything Harmony and play it constantly. These guys are clearly musical geniuses, and somehow they keep getting better. Like you, I tend to favor Brian's writing, but now Michael's songs are really grabbing me. I feel like he's risen to a new level in his craft. In My Head, What You Were Doing, I Don't Belong To Me ... utterly brilliant songwriting! I'm in awe of their talents. I'm a newer fan but I know I'll be listening to the D'Addario brothers forever. Godspeed The Lemon Twigs !!! ♥♥♥
Have fun going back and discovering their other records. I think this is Michael’s best batch of songs, as you said. It makes for a much more consistently great listen, although I would have no idea how to rank the four albums…
@@MattOLearyMusic yes I bought all their records, as I'm a true music junkie lol. All are brilliant. Everything Harmony reaches a new level of gravitas, to my ears. It's like a master class in songwriting. I can't wait to hear what they do next !
You are right. This album is truly breathtaking. One of the very best of the running century. The fact that it probably won't become a deserved millionseller makes me loose my faith in humanity .
When winter comes around has to be the best track on the album.

They Opened for DYKERITZ in Portland, Wow Great band. Nice guys too. ROCK AND ROLL Is Not Dead!!! These Guys are soooooo good.
I found it a stunning listen from go. It actually took me nearly 90 minutes to listen to this 44 minute album because I spent 20 minutes restarting "When Winter Comes Around." It floored me, and kept doing so on each re-listen. Once i was able to move on I was enchanted with each song, some of which made me chuckle at this or that choice that was made. I messaged a friend during the listen through simply "The. fu***ng. audacity." because i was "disgusted" that every chance they took worked so brilliantly. Eventually i found myself listening in stunned silence to "New To Me", absolutely gutted by the beauty of the melody, arrangement, harmonies (oh the harmonies over the whole damn album!), and lyrics.
I had never been disappointed before by them and I hoped for a good album. That this is what we got is too much. It's just too much.

I thought it was a good album, but I’m honestly not seeing the insane hype around it. Just a collection of some good pop songs that I could see myself putting on in the background while I do work or something
Fair. I’m very invested in the band.. a super fan, you could say. So maybe I’m hearing nuances in it because of that? I do think the songwriting is special. Very musically advanced and extremely catchy to boot.
Still It's Not Enough is one of the best songs ever written IMO
Yes! Love the melancholic chords and Michael's relaxed vocal.

I love the twigs but much prefer their live performances rather than their albums . I do feel however , that regarding their recent material, that the photocopier appears to be running out of ink ….

My Dad said some of it sounds like a cheesy 70's sitcom and now I can't unhear it or enjoy the album anymore lol

One litmus test for me is earworms. Earworm songs are NOT GOOD. These are the ones that stick in your mind in a loop for 1 to several days no matter what you're doing all day. There are NO earworms on this album. Beyond that, the last few songs on the album are arrestingly brilliant. I found myself holding my breath as I was first listening and felt unexpectedly moved by it all.
Interesting.. are you saying that your definition of earworm is something like junk food? Fast, easy, tasty, but ultimately not nourishing? If that’s the case, I agree, there wasn’t a song here that was immediately stuck in my head, even though they’re all pretty catchy.
