I hope you will answer my question. I bought a 2008 C200 Kompressor with 124k km.
    The manual says this:
The cooling system contains a lifetime supply which must be renewed after 15 years, or after 250, 000 km at the latest. Have the renewal confirmed in the Service Booklet.
So my car was 15 yrs in January and has half less than 250k km.
If I understand correctly I must drain out the old coolant and put 3,8l of new coolant with 50% mixture. Is that correct or is the manual referring to replacing the coolant system?(Which I doubt

      Sorry for the late response.
I can't tell you for certain what your owners manual is referring to, but from what i've researched, you should completely drain and replace your coolant every 30,000 miles/48,000 kilometers, or every 2 years.
Since your owners manual is referring to a long stretch of time (15 years), it is possible that your whole system might need to be replaced, but i would recommend calling a Mercedes Benz dealer and they will be able to answer your questions better.
To change the coolant you would be correct, draining the original coolant and then adding the 50/50 mixture. Since your car is a c200 i don't know for certain how many liters you would need.

@@BOSSMARTIN tnx for your reply, I will check with some mechanics and MB as well. Manual says it needs 3,8l of coolant with 50/50 mix. I will have regular maitenance soon so I will replace the coolant as well

Nice video. Helped a lot. Probably it is better if i use coolant but i wonder is it okay if i put only water in there ?
Or do i have to buy coolant for the car ? Thanks

Adding water will be a temporary fix, it evaporates fast and you run the risk of the water freezing in really cold temperatures.
Using the 50/50 coolant will be more reliable.

If you use water only you will ruin the engine with rust build up. If you're country Geo's below 0° you will blow the engine up because the water will freeze and overheat the engine.

Have you experience any issues with the ESL?

I haven’t had any ESL issues, but most likely will have to change the motor. If the steering wheel locks and unlocks fine might be some sort of sensor issue.

I had mine flushed at ten years. It takes about a standard cup or two per year now. Where does it go?

If you haven’t replace your water pump or thermostat yet those might be some things to check for leaks.

you shouldn't beleave what says on bottle of coolant. There's a lot of different engines, models... different MB 2007-2014 uses different coolants. It may be green, blue, purple... Some of them can't be mixed, some of them shouldn't. You must check which coolant goes to YOUR MB. and there should be a number of coolant on bottle like G11, G12, G12+ and so on. On these video it seems like there was green coolant and blue was added. Shouldn't do that. But it's not as bad as mixing blue with purple for example.

Thanks for the information, I honestly couldn’t tell the difference of color in person, but after checking the video i can see a difference.
