Welcome to my review of SHFiguarts Kamen Rider Faiz [仮面ライダーファイズ] from Kamen Rider 555 [仮面ライダー555].
"Why now?" you may be wondering. Hmmm...well, the seed for this review was planted some time ago when I realized I was uploading my 550th video. That's right, we're here now at my 555th video and I am taking a look at the Figuart of Kamen Rider Faiz. Can you blame me for doing this? That means that I had to review Ryuki, which was completely unintentional. Since I've been uploading videos chronologically, it had to happen. But 555 is only a number. How is the toy?
SHF Kamen Rider Faiz comes with Faiz Phone, Faiz Pointer, Phone Blaster Mode, Phone Blaster Mode w/ Faiz Pointer, Faiz Shot, Faiz Edge, and a few spare hands. There are different blank pieces that show whether or not the Faiz Mission Memory is installed (i.e. blank for the Faiz Driver when the Mission Memory is installed in the Faiz Shot, etc).
I really didn't like this series at all. Everything about it just rubbed me the wrong way. Looking past the fact that this is the series of choice for edgelords everywhere, I can say that this figure is...just alright. I don't know, I kinda wanted it to be better given Faiz's unique helmet and what not. Time is kinda what stops this figure from being decent. This was released in 2010, well before Figuarts really started to get decent. I mean, the BLACK/BLACK RX Figuarts were made just the year before...and now we have renewal versions.
So what is so bad about this thing? Much like my Gills Figuart, it smells very funky. Both were brand new toys when I opened them, but they have this overwhelming chemical smell. The sculpts are kinda lazy on all of the accessories (the two Faiz shots, for example, look almost nothing alike despite the Mission Memory being the only difference). Why do the Phone Blaster have a curve to it? The hands? Not enough of them. The figure itself...I mean, it's the best part and I love the die cast feet and the treads, but it was just too early in the Figuarts run. They didn't figure out how to paint these properly yet. Look at the supposed-to-be-red-but-actually-pink accents on the helmet.
This really could have been a good figure from a show I don't care for (see: Kamen Rider Ryuki) but it just doesn't cut it.
I only own up to Hibiki when it comes to Figuarts. That's my cut off. Blade and Hibiki in 2018...? Who knows. Until then, be on the look-out for some Rider Machines.

Never expected you to own this one, considered how much you hate the show. Haha
The proportion and the sculpt are really off on this figure, as much as the other SHF during the same period.
This guy is on my top list of Bandai's SS renewal wanted (next to SHF Kiva main suit)
Even though the plamo version look pretty nice (with 'sort of' an option to transfrom in to Axel mode),
it's not as decent as plamo Kabuto nor comparable to other Heisei SHF SS.
Yeah, gotta say 555th video is pretty legit.
