It's heart breaking how many people didn't know about this game, myself included, as this is my dream pokemon game. How tf did I never hear about it? Lol
Dam this game sick I've been missing out. I've always loved pokemon with combat in the TV shows the cards were cool too. Never did I like how you had to wait for your turn to attack in any digital game.
In the original manga and anime from the 90’s Pokémon physically hit each other with their body’s, limbs, and appendages not affiliated with a specified move. Straight up slapping and punching one another. Makes sense. All this glowing energy no in the shows is for censoring violence in a genre where humans make animals fight one another.
They really need to make new pokemon models from scratch in the main game and make them look more like this, this blastoise looks way bitter than the stiff chubby one we got in x and y through sword and shield.
This is genuinely just how Pokemon combat on the Switch should've been tbh. It was so fucking shit imo to play Sword after having not played since the gameboy titles, just to see the combat was no different
It would be cool if there was a system based through leveling up certain stats that determines how the Pokémon’s appearance looks. Like Blastoise that has a high defense stat is more sturdy and huge, and a Blastoise with a higher speed stat looks and moves more agile, along with other stats that adjust based off how it’s trained
At this point i think the person who played Blastoise back in the spring event simply wronged him cause here his play style looks awesome. On top of that his model and coloring looks a little different but improved
I'm not saying this is how combat in mainline pokemon games should be, but like... We've had the same combat system For like 20+ years now With some gimmicks What if they tried something new please

I don’t like how small the arena is. These are big Pokemon doesn’t feel like enough room for some reason.
You gotta take into consideration that these two Pokémon are huge. Having a bigger stadium with the regular sized Pokémon would be too big
