Darkrai is not a spam character it is a technical character which means that you need to know his moves to play good as him.

Amber, as a Darkrai player myself, I can tell you that you are playing Darkrai entirely wrong, and he does have long range, pressing down and B in the field phase lets out a pulse of dark energy that paralyzes people for a short amount of time, then pressing up B allows you to drag him into the dream dimension, then just spam up b and you do a move similar to your counter but much, much more powerful, or press down b at close range for an incredibly overpowered grab
You can also press Y and hold left to make a clone, press Y again and you can have both yourself and the clone fire shadow balls towards your target, its great for distractions or finishing people off
You can also go into the training room, and learn all his combo's, he is a pokémon that is supposed to make people wary, go and watch some online battles with him in them, honestly, some people online make me look like an amateur when it comes to playing Darkrai. Other than that, play as him in the tournaments, the AI aren't exactly that good so you can actually find combos that work against some Pokémon, and figure out more of his move set. Yeeeah they were just using it on request, and Darkrai is arguably the hardest character to use effectively. Having no clue what Nasty Plot is, the traps she's laying down, or Nightmare Mode means it was going to be a struggle. Even telling somebody how to use Darkrai isn't enough. There are so many nuances to his actions that any player can become easily overwhelmed. =/
I want to see Blastoise face off against each of the characters introduced in Pokken Tournament DX so that means Aeigislash is already done along with Darkrai leaving Scizor, Crogunk, and Empolion as opponents!

Also just anyone else noticed how weirdly unbalanced this game is like how the heck did Blastoise beat Darkrai I only stock right ridiculously overpowered it also has the power to control other people's minds so.... how?
Reginald Mompoint but that doesn't explain how I've seen a freaking Mewtwo get beaten by a Pikachu, despite the fact that very good players were playing. That's like putting a Chinese fighting master, against a 10 year old, and then the 10 year old winning.
