Pretty cool thanks for taking me with you Honda's are very quiet and long-lasting I've been running them for a long time PS I like your camper too pretty cool
I've been running my eru220i fort 3 weeks straight now. Only time it gets a break is for new oil and even at that oil changes only take 10-15 tops.
These things are endurance gennys for for sure
I bought an EU 2200i last year. I wish this unit was available at the time. The 2200 wasn't quite enough to meet my needs, and I will be selling it in favor of buying this one. I thought I would get a second 2200 watt generator but it makes more sense just to have the one. Thanks for the detailed review.
You will enjoy this much more than pairing two together.
I own the 2000 and always wanted just that much more power with a 3000, although very quiet in comparison, the size and weight was a deal breaker. This 3200 seems perfect!.
I have the 2000, 3000 and now the 3200.... Selling the 2000 and 3000. It's amazing
Bought one from Honda dealer in Ukraine for 3400$, hopefully it will last long during our blackouts. Thinking about to convert it to bigger fuel tank (like BERGs one).
New sub here. You got me at R-pod Off-road Camper!!
Man I tell you you did a great review and answered all my questions I have two EU 2002 and I'm so sick of daisy chaining two together to run my AC unit in my trailer one will almost run it sometimes it will you know you have teased me real good now I got to get the 3200 after seeing what what is capable of running it will run everything I need for sure thanks for the review.
Nice tools. Just wish they hadn't gotten so expensive, tho those sure seem like lifetime purchases. Gotta love the new tech. Thanx !
These are cheaper than ever. They used to be over a $1/watt
Hondas I presume, lol. I've got a 1000/800 no name.i.bougjt new for $49.95, 15 years ago. Back in the 80-90's we could get Coleman, B&S, etc for around $250 for 3500-5000 watt. But, certianly.doesnt have the reliability of a Honda, especially EFI... (Just had to watch those Tecumseh motors, had a nylon gov.gear, used to shear & peg redline! Lol. Was always exciting on an off grid construction site...
Way overpriced.
@@Derf1313 these are inverters not those crap capacitor excited stuff from 2 decades ago that was loud ashell & passed 50% of the consumed fuel directly into the exhaust.
I am a LONG TIME Honda fan now its confirmed-i WILL buy a Honda 3200I generator- easy choice- thats a real good review Sir- exactly what i needed to know- One question -How long do u think the 3200I could run the aircon in your RV without a fe-fuel?? Love the review looking forward to some more! Thanks a lot.
Kiwimcozzie5431' Maybe 35 hours? You should checkout the Honda 2200 GENERATOR Extended Run TEST? I purchase my Honda / extended tank, based on this video!
Steve, have you considered a camo vinyl wrap for your camper? Would almost disappear in the woods.
Can you install the natural gas kit on the 3200 fuel injection ?
What year is the Sprite on the far right? I had a 1961, blue with white conv. top. Back to the gen, lol.. I wish they came with propane capability. Conversion kit would add another $300 to this.
Just got a shipment in here in oroville California after years of no Honda generators they’re back 🧟♂️
How many BTUs is your AC in your RV? We have a 14000 BTU portable AC in the house and wondering if this would work for that? Thank you
Great review! The one thing I don't like is the price. You could get the two 2200i generators for less than the 3200i costs and hook them together. Less money and more power.
...a lot more power. As well as the versatility of running one or both, depending on your needs. I agree; the price really doesn't make a whole lot of sense for 2600 running watts.
I agree, can't teach stupid.
Depends on how you use your generator , im personally not trying to lug 2 generators around, for a 30 amp travel trailer, this 1 generator is perfect
@@jmljml5065 Yes I agree and I have a 2000EU and two 2200Eu 's They run quiet and always start up easily.
EU3200 has fuel injection that’s a big plus plus fuel gauge. I have the EU2200 Companion but the EU3200 is the best way to go if you need that extra power. Great Review
I have had a Honda 2000 for many years. I use it around the property and keep it with a nice lil air compressor in the truck. It works fine and will run my AC and refrigerator and some random lights along with water pump in my Grand Design fifthwheel camper just fine. At night while sleeping it will purr all night on idle keeping the refrigerator and as many fans as we want humming along. In cold weather camping it will run the furnace or ceramic heaters or both all night. No need for AC all night. It is great to run power tools , charge dewalt batteries cell phone batteries run string trimmers charge car battery batteries a whole bunch of things and super light and handy. I will never switch from the 2000. As you demonstrated no one thing was over 2000 watts so I can deal just fine.
Nice job god bless
Do they have the same size fuel cap?
Would like you test the Eco flow duel fuel generator. I like the Choice to uses propane. (?)
I have not yet used any eco flow products but I have looked at them and they do look nice.
@@ThisWeekWithCars I wish Honda made this unit for propane.
Thank you for the review, does the eu2200i companion cable work with the new eu3200i ?
Yes it does
How does FI work on a small generator? Is there a pump and how is it activated during start-up? By a battery?
No battery but yes has a fuel pump, in fact even the old EU line of generators also have fuel pumps. Because they have fuel pumps you can easily get them to run off extended run fuel tanks.
Nothing about a compatible DC charging adapter for this unit. I have not found one that fits.
I ordered one based on your great review. I am looking for a Honda cover for it. I wonder if the Honda 2000i cover will fit the 3200?
I do not think that the cover will fit unless it is very loose on the 2000i
@@ThisWeekWithCars Asking a lot I know but can you measure both generators and see how close they are in size? LxWxH
@2:58 you might want to double check this info, I do not believe you can parallel the new 3200 with the old 2000's. I did a brief check but you might want to double check, I don't think it's right. The EU3200i manual states do not connect the 3200i to any other type of generator. I know the EU2200i could only be connected to other 2200i's and a select few eu2000i's that were made after a certain date. Just wanted to give a heads up.
That information is not correct they just don’t want people doing it if you don’t know what you are doing you can even pair three or more together but you will never see that in the manual.
@@ThisWeekWithCars Well that is fantastic info. Interesting how the manual specifically forbids it, but good to know otherwise. That RPod camper on the LMTV is sweet, by the way.
How does it handle bad gas. can you fix it in the field?
I would assume it would run better on bad gas than the old version. If something went wrong with it you probably are not fixing it unless you had a spare for parts.
Any feedback since you have owned this generator for awhile? Thanks!
Haven't used it much as I bought it this winter. Haven't had any problems with it but will be using it more now that it is warmer out.
That is a nice setup. It's a shame that the generator doesn't run on diesel so you could use your truck fuel tank.
Being a Honda ,it probably would..
At least should have propane capability.
It appears they eliminated the dc outlet, which I use regularly.
They did
There's no reason to use the 12 volt output unless it's an absolute emergency. A tiny 120 volt battery charger will provide substantially more power to charge your batteries than the native 12v ever did.
Is this gen good for house hold in case of power lost?
Yes it can power a lot of things at once.
not at all unless your house is a tiny bumper pull trailer
I used to use an Epson ET-2550 czcams.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 , an early model of the ink tank style. It worked well, but had one nuisance that drove me up the wall; if you didn't put it in high quality print mode you'd get a streak across the page. I'm happy to say I have yet to see this with this printer. The print quality has been fantastic so far, the set up was super easy. All in all I'm very happy with this printer.
I've been reading about A LOT of starting problems with this fuel injected generator tending to flood very easily, especially in northern climates. Many bad reviews on Honda's site, all with this same problem. Apparently the way to clear the flooded condition is to turn the switch to OFF, and then pull the recoil several times to clear out the engine.
That's typically a carbed engine problem.
@@BetaOp9 It is a huge documented problem on this particular fuel injected engine, especially in colder climates. Do your research.
The Honda EU series are a good unit that’s for sure. A bit too dear for my liking though. I bought a cheaper generator which I am yet to fire up. If it lasts, great. If not, then I accept I did buy a cheap one and might pony up for the Honda EU. Time will tell for me.
Just curious how many Watts is the generator you bought?
@@ThisWeekWithCars 2.0kW. I have a combination of solar, three batteries and now the generator. I am preparing for when I sell my off-road camper trailer and upgrade to what we in Australia call a "hybrid" van. It will also be an off-road type with air-con, toilet/shower, solar, inverter etc etc. I am wanting to retire in 6 years time. If the generator lasts, then good, if not then I will buy a Honda. I will buy a larger one than 2.0kW when I do if I need a larger one.
The 2200 and 2000 models are the way to go, you can buy a tri fuel conversion kit to run it on propane, natural gas or gasoline.
Hutchmountain is producing such a kit also for the 32i. They said ...
@@Vorname_Nachnahme interesting, I need to check that out.
@@StrongManMattt The last information by email-contact was that as soon as the 32i would be available they would get one and develop the corresponding kit for it. No idea regarding the timeline for that.
I have the HM kit on my 2200i, works perfectly.
Seems impressive, but can you start it with Bluetooth?
To save weight it does not have an electric starter and battery. The old EU3000i was much heavier because of this.
i live in california where can i buy it?
A different state.
I'll smuggle you one for double my cost, imagine having to smuggle products within the same country.. wtf
Add remote start plz
$2,700 You'd think they would of added the oil! lol
Nice Jenny but the fuel tank is way too small 1.2 gallons 🤣😂my EU 3000 is 3.4 🙏🇨🇦
I agree that's a joke and way overpriced.
We have an external fuel tank on our old eu. It’ll run for days without needing fuel. I’d assume you can do the same with this one
eu3000 is a superior unit, can be converted to propane also
@@blackpepe I converted my 2200i to tri-fuel. I'll never go back to gas unless I have to.
weird, I saw them in a California camping world
So, Honda has been fuel injecting their cars since sometime in the 80's, but a carburetor has been on their generators all along? I guess there is a lot of competition in the generator market and FI was too expensive, but it has been a long time coming.
Their larger inverter generators have had it for a while now just slowly trickling down it seems
Also emissions might have something to do with it
And carburetors are more difficult to assemble than a robotically made fuel injector unit..
The Canadian version doesn’t have those outlet covers which i don’t understand!!
Interesting, I saw the EU version which does have covered plugs but in a completely different style.
Why didn't they put a 12v DC outlet in it
Their research must have shown that almost nobody was using it. I don't think I ever used mine. If I needed to charge a battery I plugged in a proper battery charger.
@@ThisWeekWithCars It seems that what you said is correct, I did not use it, thank you for your kindness
Wow a fuel injected catalyst equipped generator and it's not carb compliant?
For the price of this generator one could buy a used car in a pristine condition.
And then turn around and use its engine as a generator. Ha ha.
Pristine condition? Like what?
Just wish it had a slightly bigger fuel tank 🧐🧐
I have a six gallon external fuel tank that I use with these generators, just replace the cap with one with a hose on it that connects to your external tank.
It will run at least 9 hours with the full it holds as is.
Honda 2200 has 120 engine this one has 130. Horsepower is torque * RPM. So…what is the runtime at 400 watts (about 0.5 HP) steady for each. And yes an external tank is very handy. How does this gen make more HP (watts) with nearly same displacement engine as 2200i? More torque or RPM?
Not for sale in California...... Because of California. LOL
Should have put an electric start on this model.
Would have made it much heavier.
@@davemacy-cm2st Ryobi has already accomplished this along with an integrated handle for toting around.
You mean Clownafornia.
Price on 10000 wats unit
Whar's price on a 10000 watt unit
3.000 Dollars. Way too much money.
Why would you turn on two items That drawl way more than that generator is made to power? You should know better than that!
It's a great genset 8 out of 10 🌟 . But it's not an electric remote start. Still a pain in the ass to go outside in the cold and pull start it. It would have gotten 10 out of 10 if it had an electric remote start from my phone
It would be so heavy it would no longer be portable and the EFI makes it start right up in the cold, not a big deal.
@@ThisWeekWithCars actually not true. Many portable units that’s are E-start and remote now. Very portable
$2600 is too much, I think better get Pulsar 4000 watt dual fuel propane and gasoline and only 47 pound, $650
Too darn expensive.
I know it seems obvious but I do think you should mention the danger of running these things without ventilation. A local family here in the UK killed their son by using one in the basement when there were floods . A petrol powered pump I assume. These days you can’t make assumptions about general knowledge.
He doesn't have to mention anything. All generator sets in the united states' come with carbon monoxide sensors that shut off the gen set if a situation occurs where idiots kill others or themselves with exhaust fumes like the case you mentioned.
No reliability goes down, cost of generators goes up, for something pretty obvious. Millions of people have been using them since the 60's, and it's extremely rare people are stupid enough to kill themselves with them. If so, usually done purposely per statistics here in the states.
he's show casing the CO minder feature for you, you should be thanking him. It auto shuts off so retards don't die.
Yes, and perhaps he should mention the dangers of going outside in 22 degree weather without a jacket, or drinking the gasoline he's using to fuel the generator. Where does it end? If running an internal combustion engine indoors sounds like a good idea to somebody, they most certainly should not own a generator to begin with.
@@jmljml5065 I was brought up with “common sense is the least common thing” ringing in my ears! Was it not your country where someone took McDonalds to court because the coffee was too hot to balance in your lap? It is surprising that people take drugs and smoke and drink to excess but they do. Some you cannot help.
I said the r word and got shadow banned let me try this again the 3200 has an auto shut off feature the CO minder so r3t@rd5 don't die....
But this new generator has 20 hours on it After it sets for a few days or a week it will not start because it floods every time. Dealer told me to just take the spark plug out and put in a dry one . And pull the cord 20 to30 times to clear it.EFI stand for eliminate fuel injection. This is a real pain in my butt I wish I would have never bought it.
Nope nope you can completely wrong if you want to Pharrell two gens they need to be the same model
Do a search on youtube, you can pair different models, you can even pair as many as you want together, many people are doing three and even with all three different models.
Pharrell lol 🤣
Way overpriced, hard pass.
These are made in japan & that comes at a price.
You get what you pay for is the general rule.
or $3,259 Candian Money, seams really over priced for even a Honda, that has no electric start. Come on Honda ! how about a remote start. Sad, does it really cost 2X as much do produce this generator. ?
we get bent over in Canada with pretty much anything we purchase and this is no different. just picked one up for 3600 13% taxes in..more for Justin and his cronies to piss away
bruh the whole idea of the 3200 is to be lightweight how tf you gonna be lightweight with electric starter and battery added on… then your just reproducing the eu3000 with a smaller gas tank
Don't like the fuel injection system. I would rather have a carburetor. And I sure do not need Bluetooth.
Agreed efi has way more to break and diagnosing without the software can be a pain. If you put ethanol free and run a carb outta gas when your storing it you will never have issues and it will start easy every time.
Sometimes technology is good but my generator is supposed to be there for me when technology fails, so therefore i just want gravity fed fuel, nice little generator but i will stick to my Eu30is for a while
There are other models with carb. Efi is certainly better than any carb . More fuel efficient, more reliable & not even that complicated. Parts are cheap . Honda has efi in generators for a decade now & there is not a single reported problem with the fuel injection in eu7000is..
Is it true that the carbureted models need the head removed and de-coked at set intervals? I imagine fuel injection would eliminate this.
@@steveallen1340 yes that is every 500hrs. But most of us do it when the engine stops working 😆
Too bad you can’t run it on propane.
