It's more time and money but i would go the extra mile and do the 25.6 cert. From the sounds of it that's where you want to go with this pickup and plus with all the torqe you are gunna have anything to help make it solid will be a good thing especially since diesel weigh so much. I know it's just a funny car hoop and a few extra bars but think you will be happy to do it now rather than later. Glad to see some more videos on this project I'm a Cummins guy through and through and everyone builds them so it's cool to see you building a Chevy and sticking with the duramax.

I’m in northern Alberta and we have less snow then you now Im jellies. We had a 15” but it all melted away then we got 1” and waiting for more again.

I say shorten the bed so your driveshaft won't be so long and less risk of breaking it with all that torque and sticky tires

If you can salvage the panel from the cab then you should try and enclose the roll cage behind it so it's almost a sleeper

Hell a yeah, I'm back halfing my 71 c10 long bed too. I already moved the firewall back 4" and put in a new trans tunnel. I got the frame cut off and the frame for the 4 link put in. I need to get a roll cage put in next.

Should maybe try to find just a short bed I feel like it would look way better and perform better or even I've seen horsepower tv or a show like that and they actually cut a long bed and converted it to a short bed. I just think for looks and the wheel base for performance purposes would be so much better but it is your truck so either way it will be cool.
Can you use the floor from the duramax truck and put it in the C10? Maybe even the firewall so that every thing would still bolt into place and all your mounts would line up, maybe the dash would still fit. It would be a trip to have the new interior parts in the old truck

In NH we got 3 feet over 2 days and it is snowing again today.
Are you going to use a CP3 fuel pump? Are you going to show how to get more flow or pressure out of one? Maybe run larger fuel lines along with higher fuel volume.

Get a long horn edition bed make that baby a long boi
Move the engine back a few inches
Build a complete tube chassis for the truck since you're building it from the ground up you might as well do it right the first time and get it over with there is a few benefits from doing so you'll have a stronger and lighter total frame and you shouldn't do it in Chromoly you should use mild steel to do it beings Chromoly is very brittle and if you were to hit the wall the frame will snap in half especially putting over 2000lb-ft of torque to it every time you make a pass it's ok to use Chromoly for the cage but not the frame and I hope you're going to make it a double frame rail truck and shorten the frame and wheelbase that will cut some weight there too and go ahead and make it a 25.1 chassis so you can get it certified for 6.0's in the 1/4 and beings that you're going diesel and shooting for 1000hp you're going to have to expect this thing to make over 2000lb-ft of torque and I hope you're going to make it AWD with 4.10 gears front and rear and get Strange S60 rears for it with some Mark Williams axles in it with full spools that way the rears are one and done complete
So you will be k swaping it right 😁

What is that stud and nut on top of the LB7 Y bridge? Looks like something grounds to it but cant find a wire on the harness watched your video on disassembly but you didnt cover it
How large is your shop? I'm looking into putting up a pole building and trying to gauge what size I'd like to have to accommodate all the tools, lifts, welders, etc.etc.

But are you going to make this truck LOOK as nice as it will go ? Or keep it "with a certain patina" ? I so hope you can find the time to give the bodywork the love it so deserves . You're getting my hopes up with all the talk of rust removal and the prospect of panel beating . LOL (Your truck. Your look though)
