  • The Theatre Peace Building Academy project is using theatre as a tool to explore community relations issues in a safe and accessible environment.
Funded under the EU's PEACE IV Programme, its main beneficiaries are the people and communities most affected by the conflict/troubles in Northern Ireland and surrounding Border Counties.
The project recruited eight local artists and four internationally celebrated artists with significant experience of utilising arts activity in areas of conflict and social breakdown.
An estimated 76 cross-community participants will be reached, delivering approximately 2,200 hours of collaborative working time.
This video is an extract from the production Release. Directed by Declan Keeney, Release was an original Theatre of Witness production created by Teya Sepinuck. It looked at six men who were greatly impacted by the legacy of the Troubles. A former British Soldier; prison governor; detective; two prisoners and a man who was caught in a car bomb as a child. Each shared their emotional stories publicly.
