About this video: On my channel, I post monthly videos compiled of clips of MBTA commuter trains on the Newburyport/Rockport Line, the eastern most commuter rail line on the north side of MBTA’s system. The line runs from Boston’s North Station to Beverly, where it then splits and continues on to both Newburyport and Rockport. In the November 2023 edition, clips that appear were filmed in the following towns: Beverly, Manchester, Hamilton, Ipswich, and Newbury, Massachusetts. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Fantastic video well done
Thank you !
11:02, 1121 in it's dying moments. The cursed GP40.😂
11:02 seems like 1121 still sounds funky lol
Yeahhh get a listen to it at 17:57
See 1811 (which is the veterans coach) on my tracker on Train #339 to Lowell stopped at Wedgemere. As of now, there are 4 Rotems up north: 1809, 1811 (veterans), 1822 and 1824. Heard a rumor that new Rotem, 1834 might go north too. I don’t think that’ll happen, the new 1800s that are still coming into service will most likely still stay on the south side.
1834 was at Rochester as of yesterday. Been seeing 1811 a lot up here in the past week, it’s a nice treat
Everything that’s happening with the commuter rail right now: The 900s will be overhauled, the 1700s are all on the north side, some of the older 1800s are going north, the new 800s and 1800s are staying on the south and the 1600s are being retired with only seven remaining, 1628, 1632, 1636, 1637, 1640, 1643 and 1647. The 1600s will likely all be gone by the end of the summer, railfanners catch them and their horns while you can. No more single-level cab leaders once all 1600s are gone, it’ll be only bi-level.
Very true but that 1600s list is a little different now. Only 1632, 1636, 1643, and 1647 are on sets now. 1630 has not yet been retired and may be added back to a set. 1628, 1637, and 1640 appear to be out of service.
Have you seen the NS rotems at all yet? 1809 and 1811 (veterans!) have been stalking the N/R line all weekend due to the shutdown.
Of course - don’t worry I’m always on top of everything out here lol
@@rail_spike_productions Haha! Yeah I guess I should’ve expected that.
Do you live near or on the Newburyport/Rockport because most of your videos are on that line? Just curious, not being mean or anything. Don’t get me wrong I love the Newburyport/Rockport Line because that’s the line which passes by my house, has to be my most favorite line on the commuter rail system. Next is the Haverhill Line.
No problem at all, but yes I am a north shore local. Been doing these monthly videos for almost 5 years now but I’ve been filming out here for much longer. Hope to keep them going as long as I can
So cool! I live near the north Beverly train station on the Newburyport line
Nice that she waved at you at 8:09! I've also never seen a female engineer, only males. Was that a friend or did you just know her? I apologize for the weird question.
Yes, I do know her. There are quite a few women that work out there actually, which used to be less common but I’m glad to see things changing. Also no worries, I’m always ready for questions
tbh theres quite a lot of female engineers on the north side
I rode one of these Boston train locomotives but I don't remember what train number it was.
I understand, there are a ton of them out there
Was track wash in operation when these videos were taken?
Just saw this now! My bad - yes it was in operation throughout most of November
Just curious, why did you upload a video in February 2024 from November 2023, not being mean or anything?
It’s fine, I just post my videos in order and I happen to be getting through November right now. I’m much more behind than I normally am but I hope to get more caught up in the next few months
Hi
