These clips are excerpts from a documentary about the Mills Brothers' career. I apologize for any audio glitches and overall weirdness at times, the sound of this documentary was not well done, and I did what I could to improve the odd spots. - Zábava

DEAN MARTIN loved them, he used to say that he got his way of singing by listening to Harry Mill and not by listening to Bing Crosby like many believed.
Indeed! Harry Mills was Dean Martin's only idol, and justifiably. While they all sang beautifully, and could sing each other's parts, Harry's voice was always my favorite. Herbert rarely sang solo. But when he did, he could sound exactly like Harry! "You Always Hurt The One You Love" had me fooled for years! That second solo is Herbert, who didn't want to, but did. You had to have real talent in those days, and due to their vocal power, they were always well back from the single microphone. How I wish I could have seen them!
Brendan and corina could not agree with you more the Mills Brothers were the quintessential harmony group of their time or of any to come they have left us an incredible legacy of music that I hope future generations will discover

Thank you for this upload. Really awesome to hear tgese super intelligent muaicians who are my favorite group since around 1974 when i was ten and found an eight track cassette of theirs. Boy, am i glad i listened to it! Check out their singing of hymns! I have them in my youtube playlist called "the mills brothers". My favorite is "Just a closer walk with thee". 🙏

all i got to say is their performance of solitude with john just sounds so unearthly n amazing especially when herbert does the scale down part with the mouth trumpet is just pure heavenly you can hear part of it at 4:11, bless up n rest in paridise to the mills brothers n hopefully they will be singing at the heavens gates for everyone is entering

Interview no earlier than 1983, since they speak of events of "january 1982", naming the year rather than saying "january of this year".
Harry Mills died in June 1982. The footage of all three brothers was filmed in Copenhagen 1981. The footage of only one brother speaking (Donald Mills) was filmed after Harry's death. So that footage could be later than 1983, but not the rest.
Did one of them pass away? I remember there being four
Yes. Originally there was also John Jr. who was another brother who played guitar. He passed in the late 1930s. After that, their father John Sr. joined the group for a while.
